Has anyone gotten the WalMart sale paper yet???
mrsbmb replied to liquidblue13's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I'm dying for the ad.. you must be able to get one of the major papers from your area? not so much a town type paper. sounds like you live in a nice small town... lucky duck kathy -
I agree no material item is worth the things you describe above. i find it a little scarey when its that crowded. but i still go for "the hunt" lol kathy

I have a top of the stove one thats delishous. it has coconut instead of peanutbutter. Oat delights 2 c. sugar 6 TBl sp. cocoa 1/2 c. butter or margerine 1/2 c. milk ******************* 1/2 tsp vanilla ****************** 1 c. shredded coconut 3 c. Oats ******************************** combine the first 4 ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. add the vanilla and remove from heat. stir in coconut and oats. drop by teaspoons ful onto wax or parchment paper and chill to set. note: i like to mix the coconut and oats together in a bowl and pour and stir the chocolate mix in. i found it easier.

we make this broccoli cheese casserole for all of the holidays like thanks giving, christmas and easter. it is a big hit and we never ever have left overs. i have known people to switch up the velveeta with better cheddar cheeses and they said the velvetta works best in preformance and taste in this recipe. Broccoli Cheese Casserole. 9X13 size pan 6 packs of frozen chopped broccoli 2 sticks butter marg. melted 2 rows of ritz crackers ground into crumbs 2 lb velvetta cheese sliced or chunked up Cook and drain broccoli (really press the water out as much as possible) Put in casserole. Slice cheese over top. Cover with Ritz cracker crumbs. Pour margarine over all. Bake at 350-degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbling hot.

that is the one thing that turns me off on this store. i bought my son a yellow down jacket one yr and it had washing instuctions etc. when the coat was done you could see black feathers all in the front. i thought he got the coat dirty again till i looked close and realized they used black feathers in it and there was no way to get the feathers out of the view of the coat they were inbetween the lining type thing. ewhen i took it back. that is when i found out about the return policy... they do have it posted in the store so beware. store credit only.kathy

the key is early in the morning! there is hardly anyone in the stores except other elderly people. walmart opens at 7am here and its a great time to shop. It is a slow process isnt it. they are so worthy of our patience though. I like the the check writing at the register taking as long as if you were writing a novel to fill out..lol kathy

mrsbmb replied to crystalhicks's topic in 2005
i try and go for the same number.. i have done the same $$ and even when they know you spent the same its sad looking at the sad face when one is still unwrapping.. i try and make sure they are the same value/size etc. so it looks even but may not really be $$ wise. kathy -
how does this price adjusting work? is there a time frame where you can just go in with your reciept and demand an adjustment? or are people putting stuuf on layaway and then picking up that day and getting the adjustment? kathy

Me and the kids used this recipe last yr. for the first time and it will now replace sugar cookies for christmas cookie making. they were really tasty not hard as a rock and were tan in color. they roll and decorate just like sugar cookies... but are softer and taste better. Rolled spice cookies 3 3/4 cups sifted flour 1 1/4 tsp baking powder 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 1/4 tsp cloves 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine 2 cups brown sugar (i would use light unless you want dark looking cookies) 1 egg ************************ mix together the first 4 dry ingredients and set aside. Cream butter and sugar together..then add egg. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. chill well, Roll abought 1/8 thick, cut with assorted cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 12 min. decorate as desired yeild about 6 dozen

I have the original oatmeal cookie recipe from quaker oats before they tried to lower fat etc to be trendy..you could just drop the raisins. I have added nuts and cranberries the craisin or dried cranberries to it too. i think if you cook them to the directions they are moist. Oatmeal Cookies 1 1/4 c margerine 3/4 c firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c regular sugar ..................................... 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla ...................................... 1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon ......................................... 3 cups oldfashioned oats....(quick oats if desired, I prefer the original) 1 c. raisins if desired ................................................................... cream the first 3 ingredients till light and fluffy, beat in eggs and vanilla. combine dry ingredients except for oats and raisins. gradually add to creamed mixture until well mixed. then stir in the oats and raisins. drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a 375 degree oven for 9 min. or until slightly brown on top. let sit for a few mins befor removing from tray.

I want to add this excellent frosting for making decorated cookies. my kids and i made professional looking cookies last year with this frosting. it comes in tubes with a writing tip.. you keep it in warm bowls of water while your working to keep it flowing. it dries fast and hard so you can stack the cookies and they wont mess up. so fun. it is called frosting doodles. we bought them at AC.Moore store. for 1.99 per color. you would be surprized how far those tubes go... really far..this is what they look like: http://www.goldingcraft.com/picture2/FrostDo.jpg
