  1. I was in my walmart today and they had thanksgiving hours (wish i paid attention to the times) listed on the store door near the normal hours.. i thought they closed thanksgiving? wonder if there is going to be a surprize sale like K-mart has on thanksgiving? Is it normal for walmart to be open on thanksgiving? ours is not a 24 hr store. kathy

    snow on christmas

i like a white christmas too. not often we have enough snow here yet for that although a few yrs ago we got a good one. it was kind of nice because we stayed home and enjoyed the day together. there is nothing nicer than the scene in the christmas story when ralphys parents are sitting in the dark chrismas night looking out at the snow falling..nice scene. kathy
  6. both.. i use multicolor lights and i add a couple sets of motion lights but i have them twinkling very slow. but there is always lights lit because of the non flashy ones. kathy
  7. .49 lb here at "Market Basket" stores. i bought one instead of chicken last week because of the price. got a good sized one for a supper some night for like $4.76 for a 9+lb turkey. kathy
  8. I live in an apartment complex townhouse.. there is no outside plug to plug in and i dont want my window open so i just decorate all the windows from the inside. i use clear packaging tape and tape them right to the window. it works excellent. Also remember "glass wax" its a cleaner for glass or metals? its a pink liquid. you put it on windows let it dry then polish off the powder? I use this instead of the spray snow at christmas. it is hard to find. i did get it at walmart about three yrs ago. it dries nice doesnt come off unless rubbed with a cloth. is easier to remove than spray snow and is cleaning your window when you take it off. i use a sponge and swirl the stuff on leaving a big clear oval where i put my animated santa in the picture window. it looks great. the stuff goes on pink but dries white? It looks like clouds. kathy
  9. i did this for my sons birthday a few years ago and they all had a blast. he has a dec. birthday. he is too old now but they really enjoyed it. i made the individual houses ahead of time (i had bought these cookie cutters that made small sized ones) i assembled them and bought all kinds of candy for the kids to use. I also made the houses out of sugar cookie dough instead of gingerbread. To keep it less confusing i gave each kid a baggie full of candies to use and a cup of frosting each. it was structured before they got here . it went really nice and they loved bringing it home to use for a table centerpiece. this year i'm going to use the "frosting doodle" frosting if i decide to make a house for the holiday. that stuff is the bomb.. dries fast, hardens, and comes in a writing tip squeeze bottle. i got it at AC Moore. kathy http://www.goldingcraft.com/picture2/FrostDo.jpg
  10. I saw this same deal this past thursday in our walmart (massachusetts) and it was in the electronics department near the regular movies but on an endcap shelf. kathy
  11. actually i believe i saw some hunters folding chairs on clearance in walmart the other day..not sure the price but under $10.00 i believe. they were the brown camof. type print on them. kathy
  12. i was 8 friends told me..i was devistated.. my daughter was 9 she would always read my womens magazines in the bathroom..well this time she was reading a dear abby type section and a woman wrote in "my daughter found out there is no santa how do i keep her from telling her little brother" she came out and looked like she saw a ghost.. of course it was a matter of mins before she started on "what about the easter bunny?..the tooth fairy too.. i was trying not to laugh it was precious.. i said nope no toothfairy and she didnt believe me so i showed her this pill box i keep all the teeth in.. i said see and i shook the box..it rattled.. she burst out laughing at that point and wanted to see the teeth.. we both were laughing.. in a way her reading the article was good cause she knew how important it was not to tell her brother. the article took care of that to me by her reading the advice the writers gave the woman. kathy

Big lots has some good deals right now. well thier flyer is for sunday but i went early(yesterday) and they have/had the batteries deal already out. it was 16 AA battery packs for 2.88. they are rayovac batteries. Also while i was in the store i noticed a good buy for people with small kids. they had 16" bikes in the box for 10.00. these were on a shelf up front but marked 10.00. the batteries were not up front with the usual battery deals they were on an endcap in the toy dept. kathy
