About Rob9874

  • Birthday 09/08/1974
  1. It airs this year on December 9th on CBS.
  2. I run a Christmas radio station on live365.com (I earn no money for this, in fact I pay a hefty monthly fee to run it. I do it for my love of Christmas music). You can find it at http://www.live365.com/stations/rob9874 . It's mainly oldies/classics, with some modern songs mixed in. It's free, but limited to 100 listeners at a time (that's all I can afford. More listeners = more money out of my pocket). They also have an iPhone/Android app where you can listen on the go.
  3. No big loss. That's actually high. Get your HDMI cables at Monoprice for cheaper. Cnet recently published an article on why you should buy HDMI cables as cheap as possible. No differences in quality.
  4. If that's true, why are any of us getting up to go shopping?
  5. Got one too. Added a red muscle shirt for $2.99 for filler, for the free shipping. Look in clearance, under the link "$9.99 and under".
  6. But when Amazon's everyday prices on blu-rays are 30% -50% off MSRP (and deepdiscount's sale even cheaper), it'll be a long while before CC is cheap enough to buy from.
  7. And how much is the savings? That's a long time to wait in line to save a few hundred bucks.
  8. I agree. Whereas I only have 1080i on my 51", I've switched back and forth from 720p to 1080i, and cannot tell a difference. I keep it on 1080i, for peace of mind, but I can't tell with my eyes. And I have young, discerning eyes, and I spent hours adjusting my picture to optimize it. I'm sure even with the best source, the difference is so minimal, it's not worth the time or money spent worrying about it.
  9. That's just crazy!! I can see if it was a chance to win a new car or something. But to save $300 on an item? Even $500. If someone asked if I would rather get $500 for wasting Thanksgiving and sitting outside from noon till 5am the next morning, or not get $500, but get to enjoy Thanksgiving, watch football and Christmas movies till late, and get a good night's rest, I would do the latter.
  10. A co-worker of mine swears up and down that last year, Best Buy has a 50" plasma TV for $599 or $579. He's camping out at BB this year, hoping to find a similar deal. I didn't think 50" plasmas would sell for <$600 this year, let alone last year. The only thing I could find on last year's BF was a 50" plasma for $1699 (which was $1300 off!). Anyone know of one for $599?
  11. I always saw it from the other perspective. I would be 50th or 100th in line, and hear people around me saying how they're here for the $200 laptop, or similar doorbusters. I would laugh at them, as I knew the 5 to 10 people who camped out the night before, and were the first in line, were the only ones getting the SUPER good deals. These people thought they could show up at 4am, not have to freeze their butts off all night, and still be eligible for the $200 laptop. Bait and switch does not apply to Black Friday. They don't give rainchecks to any and everyone who came for that deal. I guess this isn't advertised anywhere, but a lesson learned from doing Black Friday every year.
  12. I like Costco's selection better. Costco's merchandise is generally considered to be pretty good quality (Kirkland brand, etc.) Whereas Sam's Club is just a big Wal-Mart. Just my humble opinion, I'm sure I'll make some Sam's members angry.
