I tell mine make your list in order of most wanted first.. then i tell them you will get some stuff from the list but dont expect everything. Now adays its like they are telling you what to buy them... i dont think i made lists as a kid once the santa dream was over..i think we got what our parents wanted to get us. kathy

I read this idea in the latest family fun magazine.. they took a hula hoop and wrapped pine garland all around it then decorated it with lights and christmas balls etc to your liking but it looked like the nicest huge wreath. i have an annoying hoop laying around i think im going to do the project. I found a link to the directions.. i guess they didnt put lights on it but i would i think. hula hoop directions kathy

I made my own book for my kids when they were little. i bought a picture album with the peel open pages/static type.. then i cut all sorts of pictures out of magazines i did one page of body parts..eyes arms leggs, hair.. another page of family pictures, a toy page. food page etc. it was fun to sit her in my lap and point and say the words that go to the pictures. they loved those books. and they learned words in no time. they may not be able to talk much but eventually when you open a page and ask where is the eye they will point at it, after you have gone through the book a million times. any toys are good that are age appropriate. this book was taylor made with things they liked and people they knew. you can do doctors nurses, mailmen police also.. kathy

5 mins... hum i guess i would go to WM and head straight for the electronics too.. i would dump in dvds , cd's ps2 games, radios ,phones, camera's etc. i could get alot in 5 mins i bet. kathy

I'm trying to think up things to get my dad. He has alzhymers disease mid stages.. things frustrate him so its hard to think of much.. he dont need clothes..he is 70 yrs old. I did pick up a rubics cube so far i think he will like it. the directions are simple enough and he is always fidgeting his hands so i'm hoping it keeps them busy. hope i dont frustrate him further with it though..any ideas would be great. kathy

truthfully i think when you see it in person you may opt for the bigger one. i got the 5" ones last yr at walmat. they are small but not bad i saw my sons friend with the other and boy was it tiny.. hard for more than one person to watch i imagine. maybe you could go ahead of time and look at the different sizes. or take a ruler and draw the 3" on paper its small. the 5 was pretty go 7' would be really good. i bet the one radio shack has is about the same screen as a gameboys. i could be wrong though. kathy

Does anyone know what time the thanksgiving day sale for K-Mart is? I know the BF sale times but i thought there was thanksgiving day sales too. kathy

also the one you posted says it hold 1000 songs. the ad says 500 songs . im confused now as to which one it is.. i guess do the homework on both just in case. kathy

i suppose you could be right the #s were not very clear. but the picture shown in the ad matches the picture of the #'s i googled. the picture on the one you prvided doesnt match the ad picture. I guess we will have to wait and see. i'll have to read up on the one you posted to make sure its what i want still just in case it is the one. kathy

I do the 3 at a time.. you make a library of movies you want called a Queue, you look at movies in thier library of movies and click add to Queue a list gets made of movies you want. as soon as you return a movie the movie you have at the top of your Queue gets sent. the return shipping is free and they provide the envelope all addressed. I have two kids at home so we split our membership into 3 different Queue's so each of the kids have one and me and Tom share one. each Queue i have set to be able to get one movie each at a time. this works best for us because when we all shared one. it wasnt fair because the kids had the Queue list manipulated for themselves and fights were occuring between the kids when one of them got 2 of their picks aat a time. this way not only do they only get a movie when they return one. the movies come labled in their names so only when their movie gets returned does another come off their list for them. its nice. i highly recomend it to everyone. kathy

another fun seasame street one is "don't forget the Oatmeal" bert and ernie go shopping for oatmeal and end up with everything but.. you can have fun with it when you read it. kathy

i put a similar gate around mine also it wasnt the best to look at but it made christmas more bearable during those younger years. let the baby make a garland out of fruitloops while you guys do a different job. probably have to start teaching that she/he cant do everything his older siblings can do. otherwise your going to run into this kind of problem alot with that much age difference inbetween them all. kathy
