I think its sad that sometimes "other people" are more worried about peoples kids than they are themselves. I know kids can be impossible sometimes but if you're not watching them you don't know who else might be. Aside from the big crowds, there's all sorts of sickos out there. Many times I'll be standing in line watching some toddler wander around only to have parent in front/behind me get into a panic over not seeing kid and I'll point the kid out. No doubt the kid will be yelled at etc. Sure the kid shouldn't have left their side but maybe mentioning that sooner and actually ensuring it happens might make it stick a little more in jr's mind instead of giving them a good rollicking 10 minutes or more after the fact.

the new RB could be a must for BFF husband but knowing him will buy as soon as its out with all the add-ons:(

I will sit down someday soon and take bits and pieces from all your scenarios to create my own. I like the binder idea but don't think I have the patience to create it plus would be bulky and I don't really plan on price matching (I'm still too scared). I like the notecards idea and maybe I'll try the gottadeal list this year. I usually just excel a list with the stores in order of stores(listing opening hours), what I want, price etc and keep ads in the car. Usually 2 or more places have same thing so just add to each stores list and then cross of all lists when I have. I'm not as organized as many of you but I usually get what I want. I will definitely be printing ads in color this year, B&W just isnt the same for product recognition and its on work's dime anyhow:) I think my biggest difference this year will be calling around/visiting stores I plan to purchase at and speaking to store manager about policies/procedures/ and previous years experiences.

Live Black Friday Webcast & Chat - Would you participate and watch?
tinkrbel replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2010
I like the idea and would probably participate (depending on what's in the ads) but would definitely watch either live or afterwards depending on date/time. I'm usually free after 5:30pm EST. It would be interesting to see what you'd fit in a 2 hour time slot though, that seems like an eternity. You should do some live contests halfway through or something to liven it up a little -
I looked at the ad again over the weekend and it 's not all toning shoes for one price but a staggered sale price of maybe 5-10 off regular price-nothing fabulous. I stand corrected, there's nothing worth while in there.

I love the washer necklace idea. It seems quick and cheap to get some otherwise complicated gifts out of the way and very much personalized.

Best Buy Black Friday Ticket System, FAQ and Sample Ticket
tinkrbel replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2010
Best Buy continues to be on my s@$! list after there debacle today. I only step foot in there when I think it's worth my while knowing the lack of service I will get. I sincerely hope ANYONE else has a decent spec laptop on sale this BF. -
I'd definitely follow Pam on this one. The one that opened near me had lots of action figures(not sure which) and stuff some art sets and not much else. Maybe all express aren't as small as this one but it's definitely not worth a 2 hour drive to maybe have something.

Did TRU offer BF items at sale price online last year? I realize they're shipping is outrageous at times but I've never had to be at TRU for anything on BF and would like to avoid that if possible.

I second the need for bags. hopefully they'll be up for grabs next. I really like the grey shirt but I have always been partial to grey/black.

Newegg.com "Black November" deals starting on Nov. 1st...
tinkrbel replied to sweetdiggity's topic in 2010
Does the misuse of the term "black" anything for barely there sales make anyone else worried about what may come on the real BF? -
They opened one here a while ago and it was small with not a lot. They had a sale going on as they had recently opened but nothing FAB. I considered a dump truck or tractor for 4.99 but forgot to ask BF if she thought it'd be ok and never went back.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2010
tinkrbel replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Can anyone let me know if they see pepper mill on clearance so I can stalk them for my mom? -
I didn't see much at all but i don't really need anything. Shoes are an afterthought since some people rave about them. For the price of a regular sneaker couldn't hurt to get a pair.

the toning shows seem like a good deal. Especially as regular price up to 119.99.

Lego site beware - bricktrainshop.com
tinkrbel replied to MonsterMutts's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Wow! I think if I even mentioned a customer wasting my time I'd get it in the ear from management and be told(not so nicely) to get a new job. While I understand their choice of email vs calls that was a very harsh way of putting it and more offensive than explanatory. -
it'll probably be ok at night/early am for sitting outside but will be too hot with all the running around etc.
-
I got mine yesterday with goodies too. My mother seemed kind of jealous when she asked "Where did you get that?". May need to order her one if there's another sale but they are kind of thick for miami weather. I bet it makes a great extra layer for those of you in the colder climate.

We try to put up Thanksgiving weekend and usually don't take down til 3 Kings Day but also depends on tree etc. This year I I'm contemplating whether to put up or not with Bella. She came to us New Years Day 2009 and has never experienced an Xmas tree. Last year we didn't put anything up since we had my older brothers office furniture where tree would normally go. I'm sentimental about all the old less breakable (wooden/stuffed/plastic) stuff and don't want her knocking my glass disney ornaments off the tree either. As soon as tree goes up lights go on same night.
-
On our disney trip my BFF and husband saw the singamajigs and bought two (one for 3 year old girl and one for my 10 month old godson). I decided against it previously thinking they'd be realy annoying but they found them hilarious at midnight in the Walgreens across from hotel.

With reference to previous post about lowering value, it also gets rid of free shipping since reduces cost of purchase:(

My heart goes out to you. My grandma died in October years ago and we spent a few years without Celebrating. It was tough since she was the one person we all confided in. I bought my mother this ornament a year or so later and to this day it makes us that much happier when we find it. Our tree is not complete without it.I'm sure ours came from a mailing catalogue but this is the closest I could find. It will be that much more tough with the children, maybe plan a rememberance day with either your husbands favorite foods or maybe order a meal from "honey baked ham" type of place. http://a1128.g.akamai.net/7/1128/497/0001/image.proflowers.com/is/image/ProvideCommerce/P0098616b?nanos=770&qlt=75,0&resMode=sharp&op_usm=0.5,1.0,0.0,0&wid=275&hei=275

I just don't understand what some of these ppl hope to accomplish (i.e. the Urban Outfitters one) where people just kept coming into store. A)What is worth it at Urban Outfitters and What can you hope for being anyone past the 1st 100 or so. Clothes is always an afterthought for me on BF, I can understand Walmart, Target, BB and ToyRUS where they're expected to bulk buy certain items(tv's, dvd's, blurays etc) and its all boxed up etc but fighting over clothes?! Having to find a size is almost like browsing to me and on BF that's a big NO-NO. Get in, grab your stuff and go.

wow. in slow motion I picked up a lot more. At first I though the guy was just a d!@# pushing people but in context he was probably trying to avoid further injury to her.
