  1. Going later on in the day to stock up on DVD's. :)
  2. It went online around midnight but sold out within minutes. They restocked a few hours later and I was lucky to get a jump on one then.
  3. I told DD11 that it would be a smaller Christmas and she was fine with that and only asked for a pillow pet. This is the first year since she was 1 that I've spent so little and she has gotten so few items. But I just don't know what to get her as she has everything and don't want to spend as much as usual. This is also the first year we're not pretending there is a Santa. We'll do more things around the holiday, bake more, and receive less stuff. I am actually looking forward to it. And I don't feel pressure to buy tons of stuff to fill up under and around the tree.
  4. I received my Nooks. They look brand new! Sweet deal! I wish I could start using it, but I'll have to wait until Christmas since I got DD one too.
  5. received both today and they are in perfect condition. I highly doubt they were really used.
  6. Just like the physical library. If its checked out, you have to wait until its returned. Check out this great site I found....http://sonysearch.overdrive.com/ Allows you to search for libraries that have ebooks, and there are more that offer access without being a city resident!
  7. The ads aren't very good. The few items that are decent sales will be available online. Online and in-store sales over the past month or so have been better than the "deals" I'm seeing in the Black Friday ads.
  8. Some of the doorbusters are online, but not all. The bigger draw items never are. But with these prices, they might as well put everything online.
  9. The Philly library is very smart, I think, in offering cards to non-residents, particularly as ereaders become more popular. Great revenue generator. More libraries should offer cards to out of state residents for a fee.
  10. Yeah, disappointed about the game too, but need some jeans and sweaters and stuff, so will be there. Just wont go early.
  11. All of these Nook deals remind me of the year that everyone got the <$99 brown Zunes that were being dumped by tons of stores to make room for the HD model. I still use my brown Zune today, looks like new since its always been in the case, and works like new... I love it!!! Now everyone is going to own a Nook!
  12. I hope Old Navy is as good as last year (or better)!
  13. Home Depot made threats. Brad, when did they say you can post?
  14. It was last year (sorry if my last post wasn't clear), but sold out VERY quickly, but they restocked later.
  15. I'd suggest then purchasing a card from the Philadelphia Public Library online...http://www.freelibrary.org/ It's $15 for out of state residents for a year. They have a good selection of ebooks.
  16. Hmm, I bet that Toshiba laptop will be on sale online...will try to get that. For anyone interested in a netbook, the compaq is great....got that for DD last year (it was available online).
  17. Lame. That decided it...won't be camping out. Can't say I'm disappointed about that, hehe.
  18. I'll go out, but no camp out again this year. I don't see anything worth it. I need a couple of door busters at Sears, and then I'm going to buy some clothes at Old Navy. Everything else, which isn't much, will be purchased online, as I'm almost done shopping. The deals so far are far superior to what is in the BF ads, imho.
  19. That is not correct. NYPL, for example, allows you to borrow ebooks 24/7 through Overdrive.
  20. Anyone know when the next B2G1 or similar wii games deal will happen at either TRU or Target (or anywhere else, really)?
  21. I buy reconditioned/refurbished/recertified whenever possible. One of the best ways to save on electronics. Every item I have purchased recondition has looked brand new and worked perfectly. You really couldn't tell most times that it wasn't new, except that sometimes it comes in different packaging. I highly recommend buying refurbished electronics.
