  1. I don't think its perception at all. The quality laptops that are now on sale as doorbusters aren't nearly as good as the prior doorbuster laptops in terms of specs (put into the proper perspective). Also, when you factor in how long you now have to camp to score the better doorbusters, it just isn't worth it to me anymore from an opportunity cost perspective. Anyway, no tent needed. Just chairs and blankets. Never had to be out there longer than 12 hours. Now though, if I were camping out, I'd definitely bring a tent. It's also colder than it was back in the day.
  2. I have in the past, with my mother. The earliest was early afternoon on Thanksgiving Day for 5 am opening. And that was my last camp out. Now, I'm older and value my time more and though still very frugal, willing to spend a little more to avoid Black Friday shopping in stores. Plus the deals just aren't what they used to be now that BF has gotten so popular.
  3. She's in her 60's but her eyesight isn't the greatest.
  4. I'm looking for a tablet for my mother. I've never had one so don't know much about them, but I don't want to spend a ton. After looking at reviews on Amazon, the Lenovo Yoga 10 HD looks good. It's $249.99. Should I go ahead and buy it now? Anyone think it will go down in price? Or do you recommend I get something else?
  5. Thank you all for all the great ideas! I am planning out every weekend between Thanksgiving and our cruise, including Fridays using some of your great ideas. Can't wait!!!

  7. So our family is really trying to move away from all the materialism that has become the holidays. We are doing 1 gift per person this year and going on a cruise for Christmas. I am looking for ideas for fun family activities throughout the month of December. Any suggestions?
  8. The first is from my OE and the second from my SS. THANK YOU both!!! And Merry Christmas!!! Not in the picture, but my SS also included my DD14 and sent her a nice mug and hot chocolate, which she loved! She drinks way too much of that stuff during the winter. lol
  9. Merry Christmas everyone! And a special Merry Christmas and thank you to my OE and SS who both went above and beyond and gave me the best Christmas packages ever! Totally made my day! Everything was absolutely perfect for me! Will post pictures.
  10. Love this idea! I'm stealing it for some time in the future. :-)
  11. Been sick and running behind schedule this year. Will ship by end of the week. Sorry!
  12. Black Friday is dead for me. I will not be going on out Thursday. If I feel like it, I'll go peruse the leftovers Friday morning.
  13. Almost done with gifts. I still need to pick up a few things for neighbors. 1 more gift to wrap. And grocery shopping. It will come down to the wire, I'm afraid. lol
