  1. Prices are comparable. I've heard that Amazon has more free books though. But it all depends on what you read.
  2. I would never buy an Acer again. Got one on a BF that only lasted a year. HP is the way to go.
  3. I always buy refurbished, when possible and have never had a problem. Refurbished does not necessarily mean used. They just cant sell the item as new since it was taken out of the box and returned. Many people have already received the ones purchased from Ebay and are reporting that they appear new.
  4. its predicting sunny ad 57 for the high and 46 for the low on the Wednesday before. I could deal with that.
  5. True, but limited to an hour a day (which is plenty).
  6. I got one of the originals yesterday for DD from Amazon for $19.
  7. Not much I'm interested in. I'll waltz in at some point and take a look around, but no hurry to get there early like last year. Couple of good deals for those in the market for certain items, though. Overall, the ad gets a C+.
  8. Just started this past week since I saw some great deals! I usually wait until BF.
  9. Mine have finally shipped! So excited! And I have found tons of books from my favorite authors available for download at the library!
  10. Every year since DD was 4, we've gone to see the Nutcracker and lunch or dinner (we make it a date), ice-skating, make a gingerbread house, bake and decorate sugar cookies (and leave some out for Santa of course), go to a Christmas lights in the park event, watch lots of Christmas movies.

Sounds like JCP has issues this year. Last year the list was very comprehensive, sizes of all need items (all needs were clothes) and 2-3 listed wants (specific toys, bikes, mp3 player, etc.). I would suggest a toy for a child around the age of the one you choose, if no wants are listed. Ugh! Last year was so easy, just buy from list and check off.
  12. The ones at the mall come in 2 sizes. The smaller is plenty big for a tall 7 year old and will last a few years, at least. It runs about $119-$129. The bigger one is about $20 more. We got DD11 a razor one last year and unfortunately, it was very uncomfortable for her - she was 5'1 at the time and needed to bend over a lot, so she didn't rider it much. Her friends received the ones from the mall and they were both taller and sturdier and they use them often. DD loved using theirs. Very fun toy.

Is JCPenney doing the Angel Tree differently this year? I went to the site and all the kids had only 1 want and 1 need listed. :-(
  14. Not much I'm interested in this year. Got a bunch of stuff last year.

We usually do at least 3 outfits, coat, underwear, a pair of tennis shoes, and several toys. We made the childrens place and old navy bf sale last year so was able to make our budget go far. I find it easiest to set a budget per angel and stretch it as far as possible. One of our angels got more than the other because she wanted a more expensive item but both got plenty. As for toys, I like the big item they want and then a few smaller items that are trendy and on a great sale. I can't wait to shop for our angel this year!
  16. Anyone else get the nook refurbished deal on ebay? Great deal. I hope it is legit.
  17. I would highly recommend getting one of the caster scooters at the mall as opposed to razor. They will get more use out of it. The razor one is short.
  18. Anyone think the regular nook will go on sale? I don't need the colored version (though it looks pretty sweet).
  19. 5 am, otherwise you'll be driving all around town and not finding a paper.
  20. DD is 11 now. But she is a pack rat. She doesn't like to give anything away. Our plan is when she turns 13, we are going to garage sale everything in her play room and then use the proceeds to turn the room into a teen lounge. With all the stuff she has, I'm certain I'll be able to mark around $1500. LOL
