Do you have a 2nd job for Christmas $

So how many of us are getting or have a 2nd job, with the express purpose of those paychecks going to BF/Holiday shopping?

yea even though i am a sahm all year round i picked up taking the neighbor kids to school and back and putting all that money straight to holiday shoppin

I use the extra paycheck in aug/sept (paid bi-weekly) to pay for BF shopping.

I already have a second part time job, just 8 hours a week. Good pay used to be my full time job. So I kept it.

 

But im going to see if I can have more hours. Mabye bump it to 15 perchance. I already do 40hours a week at my other.

I work pt at TRU so I not only get the extra money for Christmas, but get to put away the deals for BF so I can go to other stores in the AM

nope... between work and kids there isn't much free time... I use it for me, for errands, and for volunteering.

I might pick up teaching another class, if I get enough students. That money would go to BF and Christmas. Otherwise I have been saving enough already.

I've had a pt job for about 5 years now along with my full time job. I only work about 8-12 hours a week

In the past 6 years, Ive had 3 seasonal jobs, but I dont plan on it this year or any year after this (if I can help it).

I already work full time and since dh works swing shift, it's just not possible for me to get a second job since I need to be home with ds6.

Not a second job, buy I am going to try to pick up more hours. I work 32 hrs per week. A nice schedule because I make more than I did at my former job, but w/ once less day. Anyhow, we're really behind and my boss has been asking me to do extra hrs, so I figure w/ Christmas coming I'm going to start trying to pick up the extra day every other week starting this Monday. The extra money will go directly to Christmas shopping.

it's not just to pay for BF, although it'll help. I just work 2 jobs because I need/have too, in addition to odd jobs too.

nope, I'm concentrating on finishing my degree. Hopefully I'll be done in December and will be able to get a 1st job in January!

I have been thinking about getting a second job for the holidays, but I'm not sure how to do it. I work 8:30-5:30(ish) now. What time do night shifts usually start? Do you tell your boss that you've taken the second job? How many nights do you usually work?

I already have 2 jobs, actually been thinking about picking up a 3rd for extra X-mas money though. Not sure where in my schedule I can fit it. 5 kids + 2 jobs does not leave much down time.

It depends how far the store where you are apply is. I am going to start work @ 5:30, I get of work at 5pm it will take me 10 minutes the most to get to the mall.

My Fiance Refs he makes 300 and upwards a week doing that so we use that for BF.. I use my survey payments for it as well...But the way the economy like Bugsette says I may just need it for other things .. ** Fiance was layed off Oct 1 after 20 Plus years with his company ! I work full time M-F 8:30-5:30. About 6 years ago I found a part time overnight position at a group home for disabled adults in my neighborhood from 10p-8a Sun/Mon/Tue nights. It includes 8 hours of paid sleep time and 2 hours of higher pay for awake time in the morning with everyone getting ready for work.

I didn't get a second job but my work hours went from 15-20 a week to 40! I did this for more than just black friday but I've taken $75 from each check to put away for that day.

I work 8 to 5 during the day and I always work at Toys R Us as a second job during the holidays. I love working there during the holidays, plus I get a discount on the toys for all the kids and I get all the hard to find toys of the season. I love it. It is tiring but my great husband helps out alot.

Dh is working overtime for the holidays. He can make more in 2 days every 2 weeks in overtime then I can make in a month .. I may get a part time job because Im bored to death at home:tired: but since we are going on vacation for xmas dh really wants me to wait till after the new year

marketing/merchandising will hire to merchandise/display put out products in retails stores... it can pay from $7.00 - 15.00 an hour depending on the company
