Cwilliams
I heard from a friend of my wifes that Walmart will be doing a black friday round 2 on December 15th. She is a Ast store Manager and said corp. called them yesterday and told them there will be huge sales and tons of rollbacks. They are determined to turn there numbers around and will do whatever it takes to get people in the stores to shop. Do you guys think if this does happen other stores will follow? rimshot
Sure makes sense. Anything and everything to pull those numbers up. If nothing else I would suspect at least the competitors will do see if the Sun. release of the Wii will bring up numbers enough and then will be forced to follow suit. peachysquirt21
Other stores might do it. As for Walmart having another BF & having good deals, I will have to see it to believe it. It wouldn't surprise me they doing this & it being another blunder.
dmmiller
Well.. IMO, they better do something. They're losing alot of business according to the today show this morning. But not a big surprise to all of us why that is...

JenT1292
I think December 15th is pretty late to be pulling something like that. They should have planned if earlier.
abentley
From what i have heard in the media lately... BF isn't what gets them in the black anymore, the busiest, most profitable day of shopping is the Saturday before Christmas... so they are targeting that day for great sales. Cwilliams
Here is a rumored deal I was told about.... Do not take to heart as it is a rumor. Nintendo DS not the light version. 79.99 with 15.00 dollars off the nintendogs game if purchased at the same time. And yes they are calling it Blackfriday round
momof5plus1hubby
Cool I am so excited...I was unable to get out on BF so a round 2 would be great. As long as they have good deals LOL.
dmmiller
I"m not going to get excited.. till I see it in black and white. They've hyped us up too much in the past month, and I'm worn out.
amyers12345
I agree dmmiller. My budget is exhausted. I got way too many of the offline deals, and I really got to looking for the ads at the beginning of October. Now I'm just burnt out on the whole thing! That's what happens when you start early to make the season longer. It just makes the end more tedious.

christib327
Brilliant Idea. There are just as many procrastinator that wait till the last minute.I agree. There are a ton of people who do wait till the last minute, so if this is true it will be great for them. Then there are people like me who just can't seem to pass up a deal whether I'm done shopping or not. If they do it, I'll go just to see if I can find anything I can't live without There are always birthdays and other stuff coming up.
frabjak
I don't know here... usually when I do last minute shopping or shop late in the season it isn't for big ticket items. I've already done the research and made sure I've purchased them well in advance to ensure I can get my hands on what I wanted. Usually my late shopping is for the smaller more generic gifts. This year I finished up my shopping bf and have all the gift wrapped and under the tree already..my budget is tapped as well so there's nothing left for me to give to WM. Maybe they should have just got it right the first time around.

By that point I'll just be buying filler gifts and stocking stuffers.

Ares
I wouldn't mind seeing another great deal on a laptop, I just missed out on the Staples $399 by a few people.. They had about 15 or so, and I was #21 in line....argh! Still, Walmart can use another BF type day as their sales were probably pretty bad.. BF was NEVER the busiest day of the year there. I went through the 10 previous years sales figures to see for myself. The days leading up to Christmas were the busiest requiring 4+ bank drops a day. One required 10. It should have been more but that was all the bags I had.
sigrist_2000
so round 2 will be on a friday??...maybe it will be the 16th Saturday...who will have that day off...(regular bf is following a holiday). mgamgr
I have been very disappointed with WM in the past so I haven't even shopped there. Unless you camp out the night before you may as well forget it. They never have very many of their specials and aren't customer friendly. So far the the best buys I got were at Khols and Target. Khols I got portable dvd player with remote and case for $49 after $30. rebate and only had to be there an hour ahead of time. Lol was first one there. Got a great set of luggage for only $39.00 (7 pc and nice). As I said I was first one there and they had about 100 of the dvd players, not just 10 or 20. Oh I forgot I also got $10. in gift cert. for every $50 spent so I feel it was well worth going for. A bonus for us in SC was we were also tax free for 2 days. I hope they DO have some great sale...I've bought for the following year before the current Christmas before...
