  1. Where's the newegg topic? Don't you usually have one here each year? I was just checking to see if anything leaked from the egg yet, but there isn't even a topic up as a placeholder.
  2. I'm looking for a good deal on a video card. Hopefully Newegg will come through for me.
  3. I wouldn't mind picking up that 32 inch Westinghouse, but I've got other things at other stores that are of a higher priority. What are the chances of it still being there at 7AM?
  4. On Friday evening I used a $40 visa rebate card that I had to buy Halo 3 Legendary Edition for $39.99 with free shipping off of Newegg. Within 5 minutes of placing the order, the status of my order went from “submitted” to “charged”, which obviously means that they got their money. However, it has now been 48 hours since they got paid, and the status of my order hasn’t been updated to “Shipped” or even “Packaging” yet. In the meantime, I’ve seen several people posting online on other websites saying that their orders (some of which were placed after mine) have already shipped. Making matters worse, this game has been sold out on Newegg for about 36 hours, now. This has me a little bit worried. Perhaps everybody in the shipping department is off for the weekend and my order will go out bright and early tomorrow morning, but I’m also wondering if Newegg might have oversold this game. If my order status is now “charged”, does that mean I’m guaranteed to get a copy of the game?
  5. Wow. How did you come upon that whole list, Elena? I know that speedy1961 over on CheapAssGamer.com posts advance looks at the ads each week, but he usually only bothers posting the video game or DVD related sections of the ads.
  6. Glad to hear everything worked out for you. I don't order from their website too often (thus I've never had a problem) but I live about 5 minutes away from a store which I frequently go to. Of all the times that I've ever returned stuff (once or twice even without the receipt) I've only had one problem. I was returning a toaster and the woman was pretty rude to me and then she started asking me why I was returning the toaster so late (it was about 3 weeks into the 90 day return period). I usually don't get rude to people in stores, but I had to give her a piece of my mind. That was actually the first time that I'd seen her, and frankly I haven't seen her working there since then. So I guess Wal-Mart gave her the boot. I don’t mean for this to come off as a rant of my own, especially since that’s not the point of your topic. I was just trying to point out how rare it has been for me to have a bad experience when dealing with Wal-Mart.
  7. These maps tuned out to be totally useless for me. Everything (that I was interested in, anyway) was in the aisles in the electronics department. Luckily I didn't put too much faith in these maps representing an accurate account of where things would be.
  8. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. This thing just burns through the batteries. I haven’t really used it all that extensively, but I’ve already used up one pair and I’m half-way through another. Not sure if this is a complaint unique to this camera though.
  9. Yeah I bought the Camera on BF. I’m kinda new to Digital Cameras, so I’m not entirely sure what to make of it yet. Like yellowlilax, the first thing that I noticed is that most of the pictures came out waaaaayyy too bright. When I was testing it out around my apartment I had trouble recognizing the rooms in the photos at first because I wasn’t used to seeing them so brightly lit. For some reason though, this doesn’t seem to be as big of an issue when shooting pictures of people. I don’t know enough about digital cameras yet, but I’m guessing that there’s something on the camera that recognizes that people are in the shot and tones down the flash. I’ve also experienced something similar to what TrishJ did. It froze up on me one time when I was trying to access the menu and look at some of the pictures that I’d taken. The lens was even frozen fully extended (which doesn’t happen when you turn it off). I had to remove the batteries and reinsert them to get it to unfreeze. For a moment though, I thought that I had gotten a dud camera and it had died on me after only a couple of days. One more thing, as I’ve already said, I’m new to digital cameras, so perhaps I’m just suffering from unrealistic expectations, but the pictures (even on the highest settings) seem to be a tad grainier than I’d expected. I’m undecided as of yet as to whether I’m gonna keep it.
  10. That stinks. As I said in my first post in this topic, I missed out on the chair last year. So I kinda know what you're feeling. You might luck out, though. Something else might pop up before Christmas.
  11. Yeah, I bought one of those plans too. Only mine cost $10, because the chair I bought was $99. Although the chair I had before this one lasted me nearly 6 years, I've had previous chairs that have only lasted me a year or so. So when the kid started pushing the idea of the plan he really didn't have to sell me on it. Though I got the distinct feeling that something was in it for him if he managed to sell me the 3-year plan. No matter, as I said, he didn't have to twist my arm in order for me to buy it.
  12. I managed to get the chair all right. I got there 10 minutes before Staples opened and I was about 25th in line. As far as I can tell, I was the first one to get the chair that day. In retrospect, perhaps it was a bit of overkill getting there that early, but after last years disappointment, I wasn't gonna take any chances. Thanks again for all who replied.
  13. Thanks for all the replies. I just realized though that Wal-Mart actually opens an hour earlier than Staples. At least, that's what the fliers for the respective stores say. So it looks like it won't be much of a problem for me getting both the chair and the camera, after all. Again I appreciate the responses and hopefully this topic has helped somebody else out there.
  14. All right, thanks for the advice. I think I'll run over to Wal-Mart first to get the Camera. I figure that at the worst, I'll be over at Staples by 5:45. Here’s hopping that they don't sell out in 45 minutes.
  15. It appears that the ad here in the Boston area is slightly different than the one posted here on Gottadeal. None of the things that I’m interested in are different though, so I’m not too upset over that. In any event, it might behoove you to take a quick peak and verify that your area Staples has the same ad as was posted here on Gottadeal.
  16. I’m talking about the one on the front page of the flyer (page two of the PDF file). My top priority this year is to get a new computer chair. I was gonna get one at Staples last year because I knew that the one that I had was on it’s last legs. I figured that I’d have no problem getting one because everybody else would be going for the bigger ticket items first. So I went to several other stores before heading on over to Staples. As a result, by the time that I got to Staples, it was about 9AM, and they had sold out. Unfortunately, I was so pissed upon discovering that they where all gone that I never bothered to ask the store clerk how many that they had, and how fast they sold out. So I don’t really have anything to gauge the demand for these chairs. Anyway, my chair finally gave out a few months ago and I’ve been sitting on a folding card chair ever since. So I really do need a new chair. The thing is though, a new computer chair isn’t the only thing I need/want this year. In addition to many other items, I wanna get the camera on the front page of the Wal-Mart ad. I don’t need the Camera as much as I need the chair, but my instinct tells me that the Camera will sell out a lot faster than the computer chair will. So I was thinking about going to Wal-Mart first and then on to Staples as soon as I’m done. The distance between the two is only about a 10-minute drive. Probably even less at that hour of the morning. So what do you think? If I go to Wal-Mart first to get the camera, will the chair still be there by the time I get to Staples?
  17. Oh yeah, thanks to crazypurgatory for answering my memory card question. I figured it'd be something like that. It'll probably say on the box what format it supports. I’ll just check it when I pick it up.
  18. Thanks for the replies. I did a little bit of checking around online looking for this camera so that I can see what people have to say about it. Unfortunately, the model number (I believe it’s BL103) doesn’t seem to be available anywhere. I’m guessing that this is a specially made item for Wal-Mart’s BF sale. That means that there’s really no way of getting opinions of people that have this camera. The best that I can do is to get people’s opinions of what we can see from the ad (brand name, number of Mega Pixels, the Optical Zoom & the size of the LCD). From what I can see from checking around, the number of Mega Pixels seems to be pretty high for a camera in this price range. So that’s good. The Optical Zoom & the size of the LCD screen on back seems to be fairly typical of cameras in this price range. While it would be good to have a higher level of Optical Zoom, at this price range I can’t really complain with 3X. So I guess I’m satisfied with what it has. The only thing left to is to consider the brand name. It looks like crazypurgatory is pretty happy with his Samsung camera. So does anybody else have any opinions on Samsung brand cameras?
  19. I’ve decided that I’m gonna pick up a digital camera this year. Since I don’t have one, any camera that I get is obviously an upgrade. But if I’m gonna get one, and I have several to choose from, I might as well get the best one in my price range ($100 and under). From what I can see, not only is the camera at Wal-Mart the cheapest at the stores near me, but it also appears to offer the best quality-to-price ratio. But since I’m new to Digital cameras, I may well be overlooking something. Does anybody have any opinions on this camera that can help me with my decision? While I’m at it, if I could, I’d like to ask a general Digital Camera question. I know that digital cameras use memory cards to expand the space for storing pictures. The problem is, I’m not sure what type. I’ve seen several different formats available in the various ads (SD, HD-SD, MicroSD Ultra II Compactflash, Memory Stick Pro Duo, ect…) . I’d like to know which one I should be looking for so that I can pick one up cheap on BF. Is there a set format for Digital cameras? Or does the format vary by brand? Thanks for any help you can give. :)
  20. What I did was right-click on the link and save it as a PDF file. Then I was able to view it in whatever magnification I needed.
  21. I do agree that there are quite a few items in that ad that require an "easy rebate”. Luckily for me though, only one of the several items that I'm eyeing requires a rebate. So for me at least, it’s not too bad.
  22. Hip Hip Hooray, the ad that I've been anticipating the most has finally been posted. Thanks to whoever submitted it and thanks to Brad for posting it.
  23. Finally, an ad with a 1TB external HD. I might just swing by OD on BF. Thanks for posting the ad.
  24. Yeah, it was already posted a few days ago. http://http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=125618 Even though it was already posted, I appreciate the thought. Thanks.
