Brad
Time for another t-shirt contest! I've recently acquired a copy of what is essentially the 1963 Macy's Black Friday ad from the Thanksgiving 1963 newspaper. Back then they called it the "Assistant Buyers' Days Sale" which took place on the 2 days after Thanksgiving. I've included a PDF below of the front page and 2 pages of deals (there are more pages in the ad). To enter the contest, just take a look at the ad and post your favorite deal or deals from the sale. Contest will be open until 11:59pm CT on Wednesday, November 6th. I will then randomly choose 5 members who entered and you'll each win a limited edition Black Friday t-shirt! If you've already won a shirt, feel free to enter the contest for fun Good luck to everyone! macys-1963-black-friday-ad.pdf

Bopeep
Well, this was both fun and depressing in equal measure. LOL. I guess if I think about it, these regular prices weren't as great as they sound when you consider the income of the time. I like the ride on fire engine. I was intrigued by the molds so I looked them up on YouTube . Here's the Vac-u-form, I couldn't find the Mold Master (sorry, i know how to adjust the size of a photo but not a video) :

ilikefree
All of this was before my time, but had I been a kid back then, I'd love to have the 24" Talking Charmin Chatty for $12.97. I'm wondering if this is where my dad bought his projection screen. I've always loved the nights when we'd all gather around and look at the slides he'd project onto this screen.

len_mullen
Born in 1962, I actually had a lot of those toys in my youth. Pretty sure the American Flyer train is in a box in my attic. My father assembled a small town around a simple round train track. There's a picture of him 'helping' newborn me control the train. I had a replica rifle with bolt action and a rubber bayonet. The bayonet was confiscated the very first day...but what a day that was! The 43" Ride-Able fire engine, however, would be my pick. In September, my siblings and I visited our oldest sister. I brought a laptop with me that housed my father's 8mm movies. I recorded the conversation as we watched. It won't be long before no one knows who is on those reels. I plan to add the 'soundtrack and drop the whole thing onto DVD. Just such a fire engine was prominently featured in the earliest movies. Good times.
