  1. I'm checking in for April before I forget. This year seems to by flying by so quickly!
  2. I hope everyone is doing well. The weather has been mostly nice, but crazy here. A little bit of snow tonight, but it is supposed to be in the upper 60's with thunderstorms on Tuesday. I can't wait until Spring is officially here!
  3. Happy New Year! I hope this year is amazing for everyone.
  4. I can't believe it's December already. This month seems to by flying by!
  5. Throughout the year, I got some of my shopping done when I found something I thought someone would like on sale or clearance. Online, I bought a Keurig coffee maker, a video game and some toys from the early Walmart sales. I also bought a shirt, ornament, boots, a throw, and jewelry from the Kohl's sale. They were out of stock on a few of the items I wanted. I got video games from Best Buy and a few clothing items from Macy's. I bought toys and socks from Target. The Sunday before Black Friday, we went to Meijer for the Black Friday all week sale. My sons each picked out a pair of shoes from the buy 1, get 1 for $1 sale. They also each found an ornament they wanted. My husband found a set of Chewbacca Legos he wanted to get me because Chewbacca is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. We will put it together over Christmas break as a date night. Then, I went to Kohl's to see if they had the items that were out of stock online. I found the box for one of the items, but it was empty. So, no luck there. On that Wednesday, I started to feel run down and had a bit of an earache. Sometimes when my ear acts up, I get vertigo from it. I still wasn't feeling the best on Black Friday, and there was only one thing that I really needed in store. The closest one of that store is about 45 minutes away, so we decided to stay home on Black Friday this year. I did find something at Macy's that was similar, so I bought that online. We had to bring my son back to college on Sunday. We were trying to get back home in time so I could do the Walmart+ Early Access Cyber Monday sale. Unfortunately, it was one of the first snows here and there were several accidents on the way there and a few on the way back home. We were still over an hour away from home when the sale started. So, I tried to get the Winnie the Pooh Legos on my Walmart app. I got them into the cart, but it wouldn't let me checkout. I kept trying, but was not able to get them. Eventually, it disappeared from my cart. I was disappointed, but was thankful that we weren't involved in any of the accidents we saw. I hope next year goes a little better and I hope most of you were able to get what you needed or wanted this year.
  6. I can't believe Black Friday is almost here already. I really miss how it used to be, but really enjoy visiting this site for all the good gift ideas, deals and all the nice people on this board.
  7. I had never heard of a melodica before my son wanted one. This would be good for someone who wants a cheaper one to start out with to see if they like playing it before they get a more expensive one. https://www.amazon.com/32-Key-Melodica-FBA_32K/dp/B001CKFS3Q/ref=sr_1_11?crid=2YBK1H05S5POP&keywords=melodica&qid=1699847822&sprefix=melodica%2Caps%2C349&sr=8-11
  8. I think this would be a good book for bedtime for toddlers or preschoolers who love superheroes. https://www.amazon.com/Bedtime-Batman-DC-Super-Heroes/dp/1623709210/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3QSNC6RN4QHCR&keywords=bedtime+for+batman&qid=1699763930&sprefix=bedtime+for+batman%2Caps%2C354&sr=8-1
  9. I got the Keurig coffee maker for my niece for Christmas. She loves coffee and her old coffee maker has been acting up. I hope she loves it!
  10. One of my most memorable deals started when my daughter came home from school telling me that a club she was in at school was going to get gifts for children whose families needed a little help around Christmas time. Her group in the club had received a list from a boy who wanted a winter coat and an art set. I told her I could help out. Every group had a certain amount of money they could spend. They gave my daughter some of the money, expecting it all to be spent on the coat and art set. On Thanksgiving and Black Friday that year, I was able to find a winter coat on sale for $16 and an art set on sale for $10. My daughter went back to her group with all the money she had left over, and they were all surprised and excited they could buy more things for the boy. I think that is when my daughter realized why I love to shop on Black Friday.
  11. Happy Halloween! I can't wait to see what wonderful costumes the trick-or-treaters have. I hope everyone has a safe Halloween!
  12. All the recipes look so good. Thanks for sharing! Here is a recipe I made for Christmas last year that was a hit: Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls Ingredients- 12 tablespoons Salted Butter, Room Temperature 1 cup Brown Sugar 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract 2 cups All Purpose Flour 1 cup Mini Chocolate Chips Instructions- 1. Bake flour on a baking sheet at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-7 minutes (when flour reaches a temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit). 2. Mix butter and brown sugar together for 2 minutes on high until fluffy. 3. Mix in vanilla, then add in flour once it has cooled. Add a little more baked flour if the dough is too sticky. 4. Fold in the chocolate chips. 5. Use a mini ice cream scoop. Roll dough into balls in between the palms of your hands until smooth. Cut in half for smaller bites. Add more butter if it is too crumbly. 6.Place the chocolate chip dough balls on a plate or cookie sheet and put in the refrigerator to harden before putting away. Store in sealed bag or container in refrigerator for 1 week or freezer for up to 3 weeks. To make Dairy-Free, I use Enjoy Life Semi-sweet Mini-chips and Earth Balance Butter. You can also make the recipe your own by adding sprinkles or you can dip them in chocolate if you wish!
  13. Thank you very much Brad! I received my package the other day. No postage due. I really appreciate it!
  14. This summer has been the busiest summer I can remember. My family was invited to at least one event every weekend, and most times more than one event that was taking place at the same time. I felt so bad for not being able to go to everything, but am grateful for the things I was able to go to. September is starting to look like it is going to be busy, also. We have a couple of craft shows coming up in my area in the next month, so I hope to find a few unique Christmas gifts there.
  15. Checking in for July. I hope everyone is able to stay cool in this hot weather this summer. Take care!
  16. Checking in for June. I hope everyone is having a great summer!
  17. Congrats to all the graduates that have graduated and anyone else that has had special life events this month! Can't believe we're halfway to Black Friday already. This year seems to be flying by quickly.
  18. This month has been crazy, especially the weather! One day is warm enough for shorts, the next I'm wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. I hope the weather evens out better in May.
  19. I hope everyone has a Happy and safe St. Patrick's Day weekend!
  20. I can't believe it's almost March already. I hope everyone had a great February!
