martinas Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 This will be my firsts year withour my MIL. They moved and we'll not be having Thanksgiving/BF together for the first time in 12 years So I'll just do what I alway did. Stand in line. Talk to lots of people, Freeze and hopefully, if DH lives up to his promise, or I can get one of my friends to come, I wont do it alone. :groovin:Oh, I almost forgot, I'll take the BF game (http://www.mkeonline.com/graphics/mk.../boardgame.pdf.)Anything to pass the time.
ajburlingame Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Review ads, work on my list, and most of all talk, talk, talk.
ladyp3 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I usually don't stand in line. When I must, I go over my list and my coupons and figure out what departments to hit, in what order, etc.
JazzMama Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Well, last year I started off thinking to myself "I can take that guy in front of me and move up a spot, then the next guy looks kinda easy also, but that old lady with the walker looks like she is packing mace or something and kinda cranky". Well, maybe I didnt think that, but I could have Actually I sat there 30 - 40 minutes going "Please dont have to pee, please dont have to pee" over and over. O, and talked to the few people around who werent in a runners starting position.Too true - I'm also guilty of listening in on everyone elses's gameplans thinking either "hmm, good idea" or "yeah right, that'll never work"
DarkHorse Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 SONY PSP!!! Watch movies or Play games until I get my Laptop!
aolson Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 My sisters and I will get in line, and we will start remembering other things we forgot, or want to look at, so two of us will guard the carts while waiting in line while one of us goes to get last minute things. Then we trade off.
aolson Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Oops, forget my first post - I thought you meant while waiting in line at the store to check out, dumb me. I will be inside SuperWalmart, planning my line of attack, and looking for emergency escape routes.
blakes_mommy Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I agree, I freeze too and usually have to pee but refuse to move!
Spotted1 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I'm a Chatty-Cathy, so I'll probably be talking up everybody that'll listen to me. Some reason my mind equates moving my mouth to staying warm. I'll also be stuffing Hot Hands down my shirt and socks.. just incase the moving my mouth isn't enough.
CrashNBurN Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I usually freeze my ass off and make fun of people standing in line....but so am I....?
WELUVKDS79 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Ok, confession. I read the tabloids and laugh.....I know it's lame but, that's the truth....
Jenniferharrison82 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I love to listen to everyone else in line complain how cold they are, how tired they are and how they will beat everyone else to what they want!!! That is the best time-passer !!!
sigrist_2000 Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Oops, forget my first post - I thought you meant while waiting in line at the store to check out, dumb me. I will be inside SuperWalmart, planning my line of attack, and looking for emergency escape routes.that works too...especially if the lines are long...but i would agree that most do what u all dp..stand in line while the others find more deals, etc.
albrandwood Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I'll probably be there on-line shopping on a PDA :-) @

dissident Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I plan on being inside super wal-mart hopefully sitting in a rest area reading the book I'll bring with me. I can read for hours and hours so the time will fly fast... after I've consulted with employees, surveyed the perimeter, and everything necessary to ensure I get my laptop.
ean1879 Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 In Independence, Missouri it is always freezing cold. Usually about 30 degrees. So, last year my girlfriend and I slept in our tent at the very front of the line. Well, she slept....I had to go through the ads about 100 more times. Each time changing my plan of attack.
lauralee Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 What do you do with the tent once the doors open?

_John_Lennon_ Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Yes, a hot cup of coffee is a must. Preferably from Dunkin' Donuts :). I work there, so I must say you are an extremely smart , money savy, and in good taste person.
Veander Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 MPS player playing the latest Robert Jordan book - at least this year. LAst year I stood in the cold and froze while I chatted a bit.
