have a lenovo laptop that works great, had a toshiba that I gave to my mother that still works well... the lenovo is built like a tank and can take abuse, it's my powerhouse laptop... metal case, etc. Got it nearly 2 years ago when fatwallet was offering good ******* on them and combined with some other deal it ended up only costing about $700. Dual core, 2 gigs ram, decent enough video card... the last of the lenovos that was somewhat engineered by the old IBM brand. If I can find a netbook for $150 I'll buy one. They're cute.

I wouldn't recommend Windows Vista at all for a laptop. I use it on my desktop and I love it, but it's a gaming rig with 4 GB of ram and a dual/soon to be quad core processor. For any cheap laptop that you'd get on black friday you should try to install XP on it if you can. My ze2308wm from 2005 is still working fine with xp installed.... many of the cheapy $200-300 lappys have similar specs today...

I'm typing this post on my ze2308wm laptop that I sat overnight for in wal-mart back on 05.. since it still works great, I won't need to sit in line for another one this year. :)

agreed froggy! Where I live it costs $9 in gas just to get to best buy and back anyways, so $14 shipping isn't so bad. I also snagged it when it came in stock for 5 minutes this morning. I can wait for it too! :) I've got my hdtv, and my lcd monitor, no reason to camp out anymore. I'll be watching a couple movies and a few x-file episodes on my brand new olevia tonight in my warm bed. :) I'll be thinking of you all though!

the 22 inch also has speakers on it, which I didn't notice when I purchased it online this morning for the 5 minutes it happen to be in stock. Added bonus if you don't have desktop speakers, which I don't. 135 is a great price for the 19 inch flat panel.

yep, just got the 22 inch monitor when it came in stock. Sweet.. I didn't even know it came with built in speakers when I ordered it. I don't have any speakers right now for my desktop so this is really a nice bonus I wasn't expecting.

I just got the westinghouse 22 inch LCD online.. it was only in stock 5 minutes but I saw it and nabbed one. 15 dollars more vs. waiting in line all night... woo hoo baby.

best buy has the sandisk cruser micro for about $35 shipped, which is a great deal as they normally sell for over $55 online. It's tiny.. I ordered one.. cheap enough for me, I'm not gonna knitpick over another 5 dollars in savings.

westinghouse is one of the best value brands besides olevia, but it's not the same brand you may have known 30 years ago... westinghouse now is just a nuclear/energy company that licences out their name.. actually toshiba recently bought a 70+% stake in westinghouse so they essentially own it now.

I've heard so many good things about the syntax olevia televisions I'm inclined to go to circuit city and battle shorter lines for that 232v which has the same specs as the 532 model and is really attractive looking. I've heard people say the contrast ratio and picture of the 5xx models is superior to the westinghouses... don't know if that's true or not.. and there are very few cases of people having them break down from what I can see. I'm still waiting for wal-mart's real black friday ad to come out though, not that fake leaked one.

The olevia 32 inch televisions are a great deal right now by their own right.. the 32inch westinghouse that was on sale at best buy for 615 was a great deal in it's own right, and the 32inch westinghouse for 479 is a super deal too. Heck, even the 42 inch isn't even a bad deal. I guess I'm biased because I've been focused on LCDs... I haven't noticed nor do I care about the other deals that much... though wal mart's ad is so lacking that I still think they release the real ad in about a week to ten days.

I try to find name brand quality at bargain brand prices... westinghouse televisions are among the group that fit this catagory.. better then your olevias, which are still among the best of the bargain brands, right down to your polaroids, ilos, and the like. Some people overpay for quality, too... it's a tradeoff. It takes a some research on the brands and smart shopping to come away a smart and satisfied shopper. ) Before I jumped on the westinghouse I was considering a panasonic for $900 as a good balance between the ultra cheap models and the expensive sonys and the like... but in the end I heard enough positives about the westinghouse to make the jump. I've also heard good things about the people who have bought the 37inch emersons from wal mart, which is why I was hoping they'd make them 799 on black friday.. that would have been enough for me to buy one with the extended warranty and take my westinghouse back to best buy.. but if wal mart's ad doesn't change, I'll keep what I have, or may even camp at best buy....

This is not the right way to handle it... the better way would to have two employees in their uniforms there sitting by the door watching the line... if people saw the employees there they would likely not even try to line jump... catch them in the act, not hours later.

at the best buy in our area by 11pm it was too late to expect to get any of the good door buster items last year... I'd shoot for 8PM if I were you... that's why I hope wal mart has a good ad... I got there at 1130 and there was no line for the laptops, which they had 40 of stacked in plain sight behind the counter in electronics, until about 1:30am. You could have got there by 3 and still been early enough. Plus it's nice and warm in the wal mart... it was about 10 degrees F outside that night. I'm crossing my fingers that wal mart will have that 37 inch emerson LCD for 799 or less on black friday... heard and seen good things about the picture it has.. and if it breaks down, well that's what the warranty is for. :)
