I submitted my MIR online on the Sony 40" LCD HD I bought during the F&F sale and got my check in the mail last week. :)

I just got dish network last month. I am confused about the HD programming. I received 6/mo free but am wondering what exactly it is? It lists all these weird channels that you get in HD but I'm wondering what happens when you don't have HD programming. Do you not get any channel at all in HD even if it is broadcast in HD?? Like local channels that broadcast some shows in HD, will I not get them in true HD if I don't have HD programming? All this hd stuff is so confusing.

I just signed up w/Dish Network last month through AT&T and has been nothing but a pain in the butt from the very beginning. It started w/they didn't install on the appointment date and trouble from there. Got my first phone bill w/Dish on it and have been charged full price on HD programming that was suppose to be free for 6 mo through Dish and then another 6 mo through AT&T. Also charged full price on HBO and Cinemax that is suppose to be free for 3 mo. Going through the phone co takes $4. off the bill but am wondering if it is worth it. The billing is so messed up and AT&T transferred me to many different people and got disconnected and then finally they transfer me to Dish billing. Dish changed it but says it won't show up different at AT&T until next month. So I have to wait another month to see if things have been straightened out. Dish and AT&T both charged me for installation but AT&T credited it back to phone bill but had to tell Dish to credit it back. Nothing but a big mess. Sorry for the vent but was wondering if I could get this Cinemax deal since I am going through AT&T? ~ Just called and Dish said I couldn't get the deal b/c I'm going through AT&T. I might cancel through AT&T and just deal w/Dish, would be much less confusing. I'm only saving $4. mo but the Cinemax deal would be great.

I was going to buy 2 hdmi cables for a total of almost $8. and the shipping was a lil over $7. The price on the cables are great but hated to pay almost the same for shipping. Just checking for a code, ya never know.

I am ordering HDMI cables and monoprice.com has very low prices on cables. The shipping is about the same as the 2 cables I am buying. Anyone know of a free shipping code?

They wouldn't even give you your money back since you had a receipt and the box wasn't open? I would call corporate and give them a piece of my mind and give them the manager's name as well. That is just crazy. Also call the BBB. I have heard that TRU has a terrible return policy and I hate buying things there b/c they are always way over priced.

On page 22& 23 of the ad for this week. It says Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. All THQ Games for PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and GBA systems. Buy 1 Get 1 50% off All Activision Games for PS2, PS3, XB360 and Wii. So I guess it's only on Activision and THQ games, whatever those are. Sorry for the confusion.

This week Dec. 9-15 games are BOG1 1/2 off. So basically the same deal but better if you don't have that many games to buy.

I went into Target on Dec. 4th around 9 am and a woman was standing there like a greeter but she didn't hand me any coupons. Didn't notice if she gave anyone else any either. Just thought they were trying to have a greeter like walmart.

I bought one of those picture printers early last month on clearance thinking it was a great buy. When I got it home and realized someone had returned it but used all the paper that was included and probably half the ink I was pretty mad. Plus I couldn't hook it up to my computer to print the pics so I didn't want it. I took it back and told them that the paper was missing and so on but she looked at me like I was lying and I actually used it. Anyway, I saw this on a endcap again a few days ago and it had target tape on it so you couldn't open it but nowhere did it say anything was missing in it. So beware of buying things on clearance b/c it could be missing parts and so on.

My kids just turned 7 and 9. For the past couple of years the kids at school try to ruin it by saying Santa isn't real. I'd like to smack everyone of them, darn brats. I think my kids still believe but they keep saying that Santa's handwriting looks just like mine, lol. So they are catching on. Funny thing is that DH is the one that always writes the Santa note not me.

I grew up around the Branson area. Christmas has turned into a very busy time of the year around there. Not sure there are any discounts right now. I know during the regular season if you arrive after 3 pm the next day is free at Silver $ City. They are only open Thurs. through Sun. and Wed. the 26th. Usually a season pass is the best deal to consider for next year. Check out this site for a lot of info and deals. www.1branson.com it is a forum kind of like this one but for the Branson area. I got the Toshiba HD-A3 on BF from Sears for $179.99 It has a mir for the 5 free DVDs but a Very limited selection to pick from and they are all terrible.:yuck: 5 categories and only 3 movies to choose from in each category. The categories make no sense either as to what kind of movie to pick from. I would of much rather be able to pick ANY dvd that I wanted like it sounds like Walmart is doing but the price I paid was much cheaper for the player. Also the HD-A3 model does not come w/an hdmi cable or any cables for that matter so there is an extra cost to think about. Buy cables at monoprice.com not from the over priced stores.

I completely agree about giving the Wii as a FAMILY GIFT. The whole family is going to be playing it anyway and your DS doesn't need to think that he has control over it or he got the best present even though he's been so terrible. Of course he knows you love him but continuous bad behavior shouldn't be rewarded whether it's Christmas or not. Let the other kids play the Wii but tell DS he can't until his grades are up or after he has studied or whatever. As for the other gifts I would tell him he couldn't have them until grades are up. I think the younger generations expect everything for nothing and our world is turning into chaos b/c of it. Look at the debt everyone has b/c they think they should have everything or their kids should. It's only feeding the problem. Sorry to jump on my soap box and I am only in my 30s so don't think I'm old griping about young people, lol. I won't even comment on the best friend being 16 in the 7th grade. That is a huge source of your DS's problems right there. I'm afraid my DS (9yrs.) is friends w/someone that I don't care for as well b/c he isn't a good influence.

Thanks for the list of items but I want the price on the HD DVD players!! I bought one from Sears on BF. Toshiba HD-A3 for $169.99. Beware b/c it didn't come w/a hdmi cable. Check monoprice.com for great prices on cables.

Do they sell a specific cable for the Wii or was it just another cable?

I was shocked when I opened my new HD DVD player and there was no cable at all. Then I looked at Target and they were around $50. or more. That really made me mad to find out I had to spend more money to use the product. I had read somewhere before that monoprice.com is a great, cheap site for cables. I glanced at it today but there were so many to choose from I wasn't sure what to order. Any help on which hdmi cable to order to hook a HD DVD player to a HD LCD? If they are cheap enough then I also need one for the HD DVR as well.

I was just at the mall looking for the Zapper yesterday. Called my local Target and Walmart and they are out of stock as well. So I just ordered one from Best Buy w/the free shipping b/c all of the stores are out of stock. Thank you for the heads up on the free shipping at Best Buy.:)

I am very pleased with Sears as well. We arrived at our Sears around 4:45 am and they were already open. If I hadn't of already bought my HD LCD tv at the Friends & Family sale then I might of been a lil mad depending on how fast the tvs went. I didn't even checked to see if they were sold out of the 40" Sony that I had already bought. I was now interested in the Toshiba HD DVD player for $170. I didn't even see the model displayed w/the other DVD players so I asked a sales guy. He looked around a lil and said they were out and that was it. So I didn't give up and asked another sales guy and he looked around more than the first guy and then he told me he could order it for me at that price. So I was very happy and it should be in on the 27th for pickup. Then I took my receipt for my tv that I bought at the F&F sale and got the price adjustment w/no problems on the door buster 40" Sony. I ended up paying only $837. for a $2000. tv. Sears is awesome!!

It would make more since that it's the S model w/only 720p . Not the 1080p.

If you look at this tv online it is reg. $2300. Everyone is saying a different reg. price. I find it hard to believe they would offer this tv at such a deal before BF. If so then I'm mad b/c I got the 40" at F&F, lol. But the 3 yr. protection plan on this tv is $470. and on the 40" it was $300. I am a lil leary that there aren't any reviews on the 46" either. Where is the ad for this sale? I can't find it anywhere. They must not want too much business if no one can find an ad for this doorbuster sale tomorrow morning.
