  1. $100 GC?!? I need to get on their mailing list!
  2. What kind of markdowns? I forgot how this goes - is this the begining of the big Jan/Feb toy clearance?
  3. Thanks, I was looking for something like this! Watch the prices, one of the colors it more expensive.
  4. I did now. Thanks, I didn't realize that these were still available. Hopefully yours had a unique problem.
  5. What is the fastet way to get there/check out? Do you have to go throught Bonnie Hunt's website?
  6. This looks like a great deal! Too bad I didn't know about this when Elmo was available, DS2 would have been overjoyed. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

    Movie ideas?

I need a few movie ideas for a 30-year-old woman. Imagine you are snowed in - or just don't want to go out - what would you curl up on the couch and watch WITH your DH or boyfriend? I'm not sure what she has, so I was thinking more of a classic. All I have so far is The Princess Bride...
  8. My favorites for a 1-year old are: Blocks A bucket or pot with big plastic spoons (maybe add some "food" like toy food, small balls, etc.) a ball bath toys (like http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Smart-Splash-Shapes/dp/B000PC51LQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1229014410&sr=1-2 or http://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Boats-in-the-Tub/dp/B000OV9AJ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1229014410&sr=1-1 Fridge farm, garage, or alphabet toy. or try these, my kids like them http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-Playskool-Busy-Ball-Popper/dp/B00007G39I http://www.amazon.com/International-Playthings-Hide-%2527N-Squeak/dp/B00000ISUQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1229014839&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Laugh-Learn-Learning-Piggy/dp/B000A88KOA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1229014910&sr=1-1 Target had a set of 8 large, soft building blocks, some of them have circle, square, or triangle "tubes" that you can slide in or out of the blocks. They were a favorite of ours. I can't find them on the website, but I am pretty sure they are in the stores - Parents brand.
  9. Has anyone seen fuzzy slipper socks in little kid sizes? They were toddler shoes sizes 8 and 11. My girls love wearing my "fuzzy feet", but they come up to their bottoms. I would like to find some in their sizes.
  10. I just bought a pair for my daughter from Walmart for $15. I would have liked cheaper, but she needed them now.
  11. How long do kids really believe in Santa, anyways? 8, 10 years max? For most of those years, don't most kids ask for reasonable things? I know that mine did. DD5 really wants a Dora Mermaid doll (on sale for $10ish), DD3 wants a Birthday Cake for herself and some cars to give to her little brother (she made my heart melt when she asked Santa for something to give to her brother:2cloud9:), DS2 wants a truck. How can they complain that Santa brought little Billy so much more when they get exactly what they ask for? DD5 did say that she wanted an American Girl doll, a Butterscotch pony, and a cupcake maker. I asked her if she thought she had been good enough to deserve the big gifts (we know better!) and told her that Santa knew parents as well as he knew kids and wouldn't bring a gift that the parents don't approve of (cupcake maker).
  12. If you insist on spending that much the doll house, play kitchen, and train set are all great ideas. These things tend to last a long time because there are so many different ways to play with them as the kids grow through different stages. Biscuit and Butterscotch are probably on every little girls (and many little boys) wish list. They look pretty cool, but I haven't seen one in action so I don't know if they can hold a child's attention for a long time. Elmo live seems to impress my DS2 and DD3. Wrap up a swimsuit or armband floaties and promise her a night at a Waterpark hotel in the near future. You really don't have to spend much to impress a 3-year-old (My DD3 asked Santa for a Birthday Cake!). Some of my cheaper ideas: Go to the craft section and fill up a box. Get colored paper, scissors, paint, glue, glitter, pom-poms, beads, pipestem cleaners, googly eyes, etc. Maybe even some craft kits. I haven't met a kid who doesn't like making a (messy) project! If she really likes art, maybe she would like an easel or her own table or desk. (getting pricer there) Get a sled, boots, snow pants - then take her out to use them. My kids are getting playdoh. There are some really neat sets out there, we got these http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2264867 and http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10083439&sourceid=1500000000000003260420&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=10083439
  13. I just got mine out to play with it. Some of the pics were a bit washed out inside - just turn off the flash when you don't need it. I think this will be a great little camera for the person that I am givinig it to.
  14. My link isn't working. Try googling "Silly Santa with Ho, Ho, Ho Sound" or "Talking Plush Santa 16.5" Gund".
  15. Thanks for all the ideas! I got a warm seat cushion and a shirt that "wicks away" moisture. Hopefully they make him happy.
  16. I was shocked to see a pallet full of Biscuits at 7pm tonight. I thought that those would sell out. There are tons of BF items leftover all over the store. Didn't those $10 lightsabers sell out online? We have tons left here. This community must be feeling the economic crunch.
  17. For the minutemaid rebate: "Store receipts must emanate from same state as consumer address." Does that mean that we cannot order it online and qualify for the rebate?
  18. Got mine! This is the first for me in about 2 years. Wonder what I did?
  19. Do you have any ideas for a gift for a 20-something hunter under $20? I need to ship it, so size matters (unless there is free shipping and I can have it sent directly there). I don't know if he uses guns, bows, or both. I was just told to get "hunting stuff".
  20. Oops, we were a day early! I knew it had something to do with the 5th, just got the wrong end of the day. No wonder my daughter didn't hear about it at school today. St. Nick is new to me. I never heard of this one until I moved to this city, so I just played ignorant when the kids found their stockings ("Gee, where did that come from?"). We'll let the kids at school straighten DD out, since I'm not exactly sure how the story goes 'round here.
  21. Thanks eveybody! I knew someone would have some ideas. I'll have to check them out when I am done baking cookies.
  22. Is your trampoline-friend nearby? If they are neighbors, or someone you see a lot, maybe it would be a good idea to get the playset. Then all of the kids can enjoy the playset at your house and the trampoline at their house. Personally, I would choose the trampoline. We spend a lot of time at parks with excellent playgrounds. Anything I would put in the yard would pale in comparison. And they will probably like the trampline longer than the playset. Can't tramplines be taken apart to be moved? Maybe not if you going overseas, but it should fit in a moving truck...
  23. Thanks for the ideas. HSM is a possiblity, the 9 year old loves the movie - that is his gift from us. The MP3s are from my Mom, but she asked me to load them for her.
  24. You make me feel so much better about running out of time and not makinging it there. I thought that I wasted $10 by not getting someting.
