Can anyone recommend a good brand for a comforter set?
-
I want to get my oldest ds (19) a calendar for Christmas. I was thinking of adding gift cards for each month. This is what I've come up with so far: January: Skiing/Sledding Star Bucks for hot chocolate February: March: Gift card to an Irish restaurant for St.Patrick's Day April: May: Mexican restaurant for Cinco De Mayo June: Culver's for Ice Cream (June is Dairy Month in WI) July: Water park August: September: October: Movie Rental November: Movie Theater Pizza December: Walgreens for cold/flu season Others could be gas card, hair cut gift card, other fast food places. Thanks for any help. I know there's a good chance he'll use most of the gift cards in one month but it's the idea that counts.

I picked it up. Even if he doesn't like it, it was only $6. -

I wonder if my oldest would like this? Is this more like Star Trek?? What can I compare it to? Thanks -
I saw this: Looks like there will be daily sales. Pre Black Friday deals & daily doorbusters. come back every day 11/24—11/27 to save on gotta-have gifts.

Walmart Announces they will match competitors BF prices a week before BF

Tiny print on the bottom of ad says "Prices not valid in Wisconsin". That stinks. -
I've barely shopped at all. I don't think I've picked up anything since I first posted in this thread in September. I've gotten spoiled with shopping on Amazon with prime. Click, buy, ship, done. It doesn't help that my kids haven't made much of a list yet either. I think this year will be the first time Christmas sneaks up on me.

The last couple years the holidays haven't been the same for me. Last year was harder because I lost my grandma earlier in the year. A few years before that we lost my grandpa. Last year I just faked it. I had a list of things to do and just did it. No excitement or fun in it at all. This year we are buying a house so the only decorating will probably be the tree. It's a nice distraction. Overwhelming planning a move in winter around holidays though. The only Black Friday shopping I plan on doing is online. My husband has a crazy schedule so I can't plan on him being home to watch the kids. I don't like the early opening times either

Do you think the ads will be distributed earlier in the newspapers now that many of the stores are opening on Thanksgiving?
-
On the way to Family Video on Saturday we saw a house with a tree up in the window already. I still haven't found the motivation to put our Halloween stuff away. I don't have a lot to put away, only stuff that's inside, we didn't put anything outside this year.

I never liked the secret sales Walmart had. The stores around here never knew what was going on. Nothing would scan right and the employees would look at me like I was making it all up. Of course now it's easier to pull up information or their website on my phone.

I was originally thinking of putting it up the week before Thanksgiving but we are starting to look for a different house. There's one we are interested in and if we made an offer we'd probably start moving in the middle of December. Not ideal but it is what it is. lol Hopefully I'd get the tree up a couple days before Christmas. lol

Same here. I've been using tapatalk. -
My 3 Kids DH My mom Myself lol (I let my husband know what I want but then when Kohl's has a 30% off closer to Christmas I start shopping for me. It kills me to know he pays full price for stuff.) That's it. My grandparents have passed away, I no longer talk to my aunt, uncle, & cousins. My in-laws use to do an exchange but don't anymore.

I picked up our kindle fires on sale on Amazon. Last year there was a lightning deal and this year a discount code for Mother's Day. I'm not sure if the paperwhite has been on sale but I've seen the other ones at a discount.

Frisbee, hacky sack, playing cards, or board games.

Everything usually goes up on Thanksgiving weekend here. This year Thanksgiving is later so I might put everything up the weekend before.

Possibly me, if my kids and husband leave me alone. -
Some years it seems like some of the gifts are such a waste of money and time depending how long I stalked it. lol My kids still use their Kindle Fires everyday. Both use their 3DS almost daily. I think they only play a few games though. They have always liked wooden trains, matchbox/hot wheel cars, and legos. They each have portable DVD players but don't watch as many movies since they can watch shows on their Kindles. The DVD players are good for long drives still. My younger 2 were given Furby's from my mom. They were a lot of fun that day but have been sitting since. My youngest has the Crayola Digital Light Designer and I don't think it's worth the money at all. Glad I didn't buy it. Air Hog planes got a lot of use but are not very durable.

I bought one movie that was on clearance. We just had my husbands birthday and my middle son has his next month. I'm still undecided what to get him. I don't really start until after Halloween. ETA because I already forgot I hid them. HAHA I bought itunes cards that had a discount.

I agree about Amazon. I picked up a few good deals from them last year.

I have Square Trade warranties on 3 iphones and a 3DS. They also have coupon codes to bring the price of the warranty down.
