  2. Tablets must be a top item. There's almost 30,000 views of the tablet thread here. Another one seems to be cell phones.
  3. I picked up the Kindle Fire also. I had Amazon promo money and Amex points to use up so that helped.
  4. Something to wear, something to read, something you want, and something you need.
  5. Another vote for Amazon here. They were priced less than the outlet when I looked.
  6. http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/images/products/2720/2720214.jpg If it's pre-owned there's a label on it.
  7. The ones I looked at were new. There's a Pre-Owned price below the $4.99 price. Which is higher than the new price.
  8. I think it's in stock at TRU. I had to look up what it was I was curious about the name lol. I don't have any girls so I never heard of it. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13073626 Nevermind, I guess it's not available once add to cart is selected.
  9. I've seen some nice ones at Home Depot. Do you have a Menards?
  10. Almost 24,000 views of this thread and a bunch of us can't make a decision.
  11. Would it be possible for Amazon to offer a gift card with a Kindle like the other stores? I'd like to get 2 and buy them from Amazon but Best Buy does have the better deal. It was hard enough choosing a tablet it shouldn't be that hard picking a store. lol
  12. Anyone have any experience with this brand case for a Kindle Fire? http://www.amazon.com/rooCASE-Dual-View-Magenta-Genuine-Compatible/dp/B005QBK61Q/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1352513711&sr=8-5&keywords=kindle+fire+accessories I'm trying to see how much accessories would run me if I were to pick these up for my kids. Any other accessories I should look at? I know I'd need to pick up the charger when I ordered the Kindle Fire. Thanks.

    Robot?

Here's an Alphie: http://www.amazon.com/Playskool-39350-Alphie/dp/B003CRJU36/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352506967&sr=8-1&keywords=alphie+robot A friend had one when we were kids and I was jealous. lol The next year I got a robot that was remote control that could record voices. Not the same. If my kids weren't to old for Alphie I'd get one. Here's one that shoots stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Annie-Interactive-Command-Talking-Robot/dp/B0067MT326/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1352507108&sr=8-11&keywords=remote+control+robot Edit to Add: I didn't see that your son is 6. He might be to old for it. There are booster packs of cards for it though.
  14. That is odd. What if the store runs out of that one thing? Which charity set it up?
  15. Another question. If you have a Kindle or Nook about how much do you spend per month? How much are apps, books, movies? I was looking at the LeapPad for my youngest but saw that I'd have to buy $20 and up games for it. It costs less up front but I'm kinda sick of buying these games for things my kids out grow so quickly. At least with the 3DS there's gamestop to trade in games.
  16. I stopped at Barnes and Noble today to look at the Nook. I wasn't impressed. She showed me how it works and told me about it. Also said there wasn't a way to put parental controls for the internet (but wifi can be turned off), no parental controls to stop/block the purchase of books. And it looked very easy to buy books. I'd like to find a store with a Kindle on display to look at it.
  17. I've never gone to Best Buy on BF before. I've always been able to get what I want online. If I remember right different products went up for sale online at different times. Just have to keep checking.
  18. Can books/apps be shared between 2 nooks or 2 kindles? If I can get a good enough deal I might get one for each kid. But I'd hate to buy the same book/app twice so each can have one. Of course books probably wouldn't be the same because of the different reading levels but I could see them wanting the same game. Thanks so much for answering my questions.
  19. Yeah, so far the difference seems to be in streaming movies. From Barnes & Noble: Nook NEW! Movies & TV Shows from Netflix NEW! NOOK Comics™ including the largest collection of Marvel graphic novels World's most advanced VividView™ 7" touchscreen Over 2.5 million books, magazines, interactive kids' books Must-have apps like Angry Birds, top music services, & more Tablet essentials–email & Web w/video Expandable memory- add up to 32 GB w/ microSD™ card Always free NOOK support in-store He already watches Netflix on his 3DS but this is bigger. There are apps for games. What games can't be downloaded?
  20. I was looking around this morning at the Nook color for $139 vs. the Kindle Fire for $159. Only a few differences. This would be for my 10 year old son. My 6 year old would probably look at it also. I've read reviews on both. Looked at both online. Still undecided. I don't even know what questions I would have? lol Are the libraries pretty similar between the two? What about free books? Anyone have any advice for either one?
  21. My husband and I went last year on T-day. That was the first time he was out on Black Friday, then we went to Walmart for a few minutes, then he said he'd never go again. lol
  22. Here's a steak knife set from Kohls. It's Chicago Cutlery. I have some of their knives and like them. https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-264699/chicago-cutlery-9-pc-landmark-edition-steak-knife-set.jsp
  23. My son is moving out next year. I showed him the tv and he wants to add it to his list. Along with the $5 kitchen appliances.
  24. Thank you for posting this. We plan on getting new phones for Christmas and this will help.
  25. It's really terrible. People who work retail get limited time off for holiday's as it is.
