Very sad day. We will have no dedicated toy stores left. Amazon is a great thing but it's killing traditional shopping and that's not always a good thing. We actually spent a good amount at TRU this past BF. Lot's of good deals for the kids in our families.

Not a college basketball/sports fan so I won't be in this one.

To me the smart play would be if another Toy store wants to move into the US is buy all the TRU portions they want including real estate. Would have an established chain all over for a fraction of what it would cost to build that footprint.

In a story I read about this situation it sounds like the company that took them over in a hostile move some time back strapped them with a $400M a year interest payment that had to be made. That's a HUGE amount of money to have to pay out before you try and do any other type of business. This seems sort of shady to me but I also don't know the specifics of what went on.

Read an article last night that as of next week it's rumored that TRU is going into full liquidation. Sad sad. I guess they got really hosed over on their last takeover they got stuck with $400M a year in just interest payments. Makes it hard to dig your way out when you have to pay $400M just towards interest.

Ya I heard we are expecting 3"-6" of snow tonight. It was almost 60 yesterday. YAY....

Flu has been BAD this year. Couple people we know have had it twice.

Not horrible, I have the plus and have had it 2-3 years now. The past two years we have received enough cash back from it to just about pay for the full cost of the membership not taking away what the non-plus would be. That with the extras we have gotten out of it has made me keep it.

It's nice always makes me think about Christmas when I'm missing it.

When Rachel Ray speaks my ears bleed. We have Create on Comcast but not much on there I watch. I keep thinking to try to cut the cord (they will still get my internet money) but just too big of a change on what we watch and how we would have to watch it.

We did the OTA for a month when our house was first done (no one could decide to they could actually give me internet) and we got limited channels here, a lot of stuff we record comes from cable channels like HGTV, Food Network and a few others like it.

Unless it's gotten better since my inlaws had it, Sling was HORRIBLE. The beta version of the DirecTV Now app they ended up switching to was more robust and stable.

I just went outside to run to the bank and decided to salt the driveway in places. It's flippin COLD. Actual temp is 12 with windchill it says -3. YAY

We have toyed with it but too many things that we record on our TiVo (been with TiVo since the year after they came out) are not OTA. We have tried to use services to stream things but they disappear far too quick for our liking and they way we tend to watch things. Then they don't show up on the other streaming services for a year plus. Some day someone will allow to just pick the channels I want and pay for only those. We have a tree in our hallway that stays up all year round. It has the lights we can set to different colors and it get's decorated to fit the holiday/season.

Spring seems so far away. Can't wait for sustained good weather.

Ya me too. Oh no wait it was 14 last night so scratch that. I think it's time to head back to FL to live lol.

You could be like us and find the stuff you bought the previous year and forgot to give them.

Soon we will be planning on where to shop and what we need for who.

Ya I was in Vegas one year and they said it was 120 in the shade, could literally cook an egg on the sidewalk. I will pass on that my cousin in AZ is always saying we should move there it's hot but not humid. I tell her my oven isn't humid either but I don't want to live in there.
