As I seem to recall at some places like Wal-Mart having it in hand doesn't mean you're getting it either. I see the news stories every year of beat down's for towels or a toaster or some other silly thing.
-
So in essence they are trying to get people to stop using it?
-
Ah now I understand. I'm all about saving so I look and wait and wait and look. I may see what deals there are on the new one this year to replace the 1st gen I got her. I like a lot of the new features announced yesterday.

Our tradition has been to go and cut our own. Not going to happen this year since we moved. I think we will either try to find a good local lot with northern trees or just order a Fraser Fir from Amazon.

I used the SWAG methodology. For those who don't know SWAG = Super Wild A** Guess

A lot of times you can get those deals online then just pick it up in the store. It's what I did the year I bought my wife's Apple watch from Target. They emailed me the gift card , we went to the store to shop I grabbed the watch and put it in the car went back in to meet my wife then used the gift card for our shopping.

Still a thing with us. I don't and won't go out shopping until my normal times. We eat lot's of food and watch lot's of football on Thanksgiving.

It's cooling down in FL also. It went from 92 to 91

All the forums are up and the official threads.

Ya that was just because I refused to do it a third time on the last huge snow storm we had. I decided to wait until the next morning.

You know the one thing I won't miss? Having to run the snow blower twice in one day.

Here's the article I read. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/retail/2018/09/06/bon-ton-reopen-new-owner-waits-court-approval-bankruptcy/1201558002/ Here's a small part of it: The new Bon-Ton will emphasize its online shopping experience. But CSC says it is "also in advanced discussions with landlords about reopening stores in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.'' Those locations would likely be staffed by former Bon-Ton employees. So you're only talking about 5 states right now and my guess is far less stores. This is sort of what I hope happens with TRU.

I think we will end up doing a lot online this year, we moved back to FL this year and to a smaller town this time. No real stores we shop outside of Wal-Mart are near us and I probably won't want to drive an hour to the ones we used to go to. That and part of the family is back in MI so it's just easier to have things sent there.
-
I just read an article that Bon-Ton is set to reopen with a new owner. They will have a big online presence and are negotiating with landlords on about 5 or 6 states to reopen their brick and mortar stores. The article said it will hire back previous employees.

Nothing wrong with that. Makes the day more relaxed.

Very nice. We have shirt designs. Now we need a WalMart letter.

Doing great, keep up the good work

Can really tell it's getting closer. The chatter on the site is starting to pick up.

I have a feeling it's going to be a good year for tablet deals. I've been reading that sales on all tablets are down a lot. I think they may use BF to help pump up those figures and move some stock. I'm still hoping for a really good deal on a Surface Pro. I still want one but $1000-$1500 is just too much for me to pay for something I will use sparingly.

I seem to recall the one that was near us having something last year but I don't remember what the sales where.

We actually loved our Maytag we bought when we built 3 years ago. We were going to go with Samsung but the one we liked (was their high end) the lady at Home Depot told us that we didn't want it they had a lot of issues with Samsung washers coming back and people complaining about them shredding clothes while washing. The Maytag set we ended up getting she said had no real issues (every appliance can have issues now and then) so we bought that set. Wife loved the steam fresh setting on the dryer. Would toss wrinkled clothes in there and a little bit later no wrinkles and no ironing (which we both avoid like the plague).

I have a feeling this year is going to mostly online shopping for us. We are in a small town now and the closet area for us to go to B&M stores will be about an hour. Only real stores around here are WalMart which we will wander through on Friday LONG after the sales have been on so I don't expect much from there and Lowe's which I think I've been in once on BF.

The last few months have FLOWN by. It's crazy how quickly the end of the year is approaching.
