What are your kids still playing with from previous years?

We got our daughter one of those playschool bug looking cars you ride in and push around with your feet (she's 2) she still loves it was driving it around the house last night. She has a bunch of other stuff she uses every day still. Then again she is still small. -
Did you deliver on Dec 08th? That's my daughter b-day she will be 3 this year.

You know the funny part I HATE huge crowds but for some reason B.F. is different to me. I refuse to go out on Thanksgiving though so I have determined I will never again get a Doorbuster. Ah well so if life

We have gone Christmas Eve shopping (More so me) but it was more out of OMG Christmas is here and I need to finish shopping lol. My wife and I have been in the habit the past 4-5 years of going out and shopping for each other for the small things (some clothes, and other various low dollar items) pretty close to Christmas. I head one way she heads the other way and we meet at the exits. Shopping soon is going to get more complicated outside of BlackFriday, our daughter will be 3 just before Christmas and the past couple of years we have been able to take her with us to finish shopping for her. Now she remembers when she see's things she thinks are for her. We will think she forgot something and a couple weeks later she will ask us where it is lol. BF the grandparents usually come over and watch her for us.

I still think part of the fun of it is people watching and the tradition of it. In todays fast paced world with things always changing it's nice to still have something we look forward to do every year. All the time I spend here waiting for the ad's, talking about the deals, talking about whats good merchandise what's junk, planning what stores we are going to hit for what, making our list, waiting for the real paper to come out and pouring over the ad's and making sure everything is set. Then getting up WAY to early after a long day previously, going to stand in the line for the first store we want (ya not as much since they started opening Thanksgiving which I won't give up), seeing all the other crazies like us out there, getting awesome deals and finding that one item someone tried to hide in a microwave in BestBuy so no one else would get it and they could come back later (HAHAHAHAHA I FOUND IT - True Story), then about 7AM heading over to Cracker Barrel to eat and plan out our next moves. Shopping till 12-1 in the afternoon then going home and going OMG that thats a huge pile, then starting out wrapping and getting things ready for the tree. Online has become a little more of what we do now, we also come home and find all the things we couldn't find in the stores online and order them (sometimes same price, sometimes cheaper) heck I've even bought things online from my phone while in stores the past couple of years.

You can also buy them from SquareTrade. I have used them in the past for my MacBook, when it broke and the cost to fix exceeded the value of the laptop they gave me back what I paid for the machine (I bought it used on eBay) which was awesome.

I have a TiVo DVR and they have a thing called wishlists, you setup keywords and it will find shows with those words in it. I have a Christmas one and have been checking it more lately and recording some things here and there.

Excellent choice on the GPU, actually the same card I have told my wife I want 2 of for Christmas for myself, I will be running them in Crossfire. I've done a lot of research on them and came to the same conclusion on price/performance.

I actually said both the new consoles above. I think they are going to be VERY hard to find until after the first of the year though.

Our daughter has been watching The Polar Express lately. She will be 3 just before Christmas and knows how to find it on the ipad and watch it. She has been chosing this over her Disney JR stuff. Makes me proud lol I'm a big time Christmas season person. I guess I will always be a kid at heart.
-
Ya we were in there this past Saturday and saw some Christmas stuff out. Once Haloween is done I have a feeling it will be getting MUCH larger of a display.
-
I think some of the big things are going to be the two new consoles coming out. Thats probably going to be on a LOT of kids lists.
-
Agree as the time grows near you will start seeing gift cards with them.

We are going to be buying our daughter some Doc McStuffins things (wish they made a play house like hers) outside of that it all really depends on what we find that we think she may like. She will be 3 when Christmas rolls around this year so we're still in the easy days.

Sheesh I miss out for a night to rebuild my PC and my favorite forum opens back up. YES Honestly it seems like it was just New Years a few weeks ago. Maybe I'm getting old but time seems to fly by. Excited since our little one will be 3 this year and last year she was major into Christmas. Then again both myself and my wife love it. Our formal rooms up front contain Christmas stuff all year (though no decorated tree lol). Hoping this year we can make it back to the land of the cold because to me it's just not Christmas without snow, though BF shopping is much more tolerable being able to head out in shorts and a pullover lol.

Yes it has I was telling some people that work for me the other day that summer has flown buy and they agreed. I told them I would soon be sending out the holiday PTO sheet so I can find out who is going to be off when because it's coming quickly. Seems like we are all going to blink and it's going to be ad time.

Honestly with the BS the stores are starting with the earlier and earlier opening times we have come to the conclusion we will NOT be getting Doorbuster's ever again. Last year we headed out at our normal time got everything we wanted in the store's ordered the rest online.
-
To be honest even though we do get some stuff online and being here in FL there isn't much in the way of freezing I enjoy going out. Maybe I'm weird (well I most likely am but thats a different story). Being out in the crowds going through the stores and finding those cool items people tried to hide to come back and get later, it's a treasure hunt

We have picked up a few things here and there and I've actually decided what to get my wife ahead of time this year. Now I just have to watch for some good deals on DSLR cameras for her.

I'm actually looking at a ebay for an nVidia GTX 580. Super great performance and are now reasonable priced since you're getting it used and many still have a warranty. As for PS I have been using the XFX PRO750W lately. Not low end cost but not as bad as some others and the power output is top rated. They have awesome reviews and feedback on how clean the power is.

That's awesome on my old laptop I actually had many years of the ad's saved from here :)Can't wait for the season to kick in. I love that time of year.
