I think you have to have been a member for a certain amount of time. I signed up for an account and it told me nope try again next year lol

I'm excited about the fact of carrying on a tradition. We will still follow our normal shopping habits from the years past. I'm now just not going to get doorbusters any longer. It's our choice and thats something we are willing to deal with.

Doesn't work for me either. I see mobile in there so wonder if it's just for their mobile site.

Like I said before this is purely my opinion and I feel bad for the people who have to work it. Doesn't matter what field they are in, I guess at the end of the day I'm an old fashioned person living in the wrong day and age. I remember when I was young EVERYTHING seemed to be closed on a couple days a year even most every gas station. (Makes me sound much older than I am lol). Now if they didn't have football on that day I would be ok with that also the game could move out a day or 3 and I would still be fine. Everyone at the end of the day should do what makes them and their family happy if thats shopping or sitting at home in a food coma who am I to say otherwise.

Differences in opinions are what makes the world go round. As for your B-I-L feel sorry for him but I know a LOT of the uppers who don't work on thanksgiving at many of the big box stores. It's all good we all make choices that fit our lives I'm just big on family time well and football lol

Well I can tell you I won't be out there at 5PM on Thanksgiving nor will I be there at ANY point on Thanksgiving. I will wait until Friday like we have every year past and do our shopping then. If other people get in and out of the store faster on Thanksgiving well I guess good for them. I've said it in the past and I stand by it to this day I can only talk with my wallet in this matter and that's how I will stand up for things. To the rest who enjoy being out on that day I think hey more power to you but I won't help support the corporate greed, how about this they want all the people out working in the stores, well let's make everyone in the corp office work those same hours to help support the people in the stores. I think this little bit of silliness would come to a screeching halt when the big big have to give up their time off also.

I would be expecting the news release anytime now. Once it starts it's all my wife listens to in her car lol

I actually like that movie, watch it every year when it's on. I actually like Arnold when he is playing these type of funny roles.

We normally make our final checklist on what we WANT (we end up with things that catch our eye also) on Thanksgiving evening with the actual ad's in hand, we get to bed for a couple hours. Wake up around 1-2 AM then head out to our first store. Usually BestBuy, we shop until about 8AM or so then head to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and recharge, while eating we usually plan our next stops. We will shop until we have all we want or in the case where we have large items till we need to drop at home, if we need to drop our stuff off we will then head back out and hit the remaining stores (Usually places like JoAnns, Home Depot and so forth. Once we are mostly done we will head home eat leftovers and sort through our haul. We usually crash for a couple of hours then head to WalMart and Target again to see whats leftover. Then back home for a night of bumming around and Christmas movies before a Saturday of house decorating.

Actually in my comment if I said BF I didn't mean that I was referring to making them work ON Thanksgiving, I understand many people have to Nurses, Police, Firefighters and the like and I owe them a great debt of gratitude for it but to me the retail thing is nothing more than a money grab. More stores are doing it because some made more money last year and the large majority of people didn't yell and scream about it. Personally I don't like it and the only way I show my displeasure is with my wallet and not spending it on that day. Now BF itself ya I'm all in all day.

Steam is an internet game delivery system. In current for it's a client on your PC or MAC that allows you to download, install and play games. There are many games that support steam. It also adds various chat and ranking features. They have been expanding it and are releasing (released?) a Steam Console which will allow you to all of these things in a console setting with no PC. There is no physical media with steam everything is a a digital download.

We have not in the past and will not be shopping on Thanksgiving going forward. I have NOTHING against the camping out or anything like that (though we choose to stay home and leave at like 12-1AM) but making all these people work on this day is a very sad commentary on life nowadays to me. I'm ALMOST of with the midnight ones but I will never get doorbusters from them again but the ones opening on Thanksgiving and some even worse at 8PM or earlier is nothing but a money grab to me. I shall step down off my soapbox now - NEXT UP

Awesome way to game the system -
We bought ours a while back, got it from Bed Bath & Beyond, they had a sale and we used a 20% off coupon which made it the best deal we had seen.

I love pretty much all but I would have to say at the top: 1. A Christmas Story 2. ELF 3. Christmas Vacation 4. The Santa Clause 5. Home Alone There are many many others we watch every year.

That's originally from the Detroit area (before I left I lived in St. Clair Shores last). Every time we make it up to visit Bronners and Frankenmuth are somewhere we HAVE to visit. I could go broke in Bronners lol.

There is a place in MI called Bronners they have hundreds of trees. It's a huge store but they also have an online presence.

I'm thinking I may pick up the Thermometer and the flashlights.

Is it BF Karma? Can't game the BF gods they will get you. lol Seriously I hate when you get that good deal and it breaks, makes the agony of defeat even worse.
-
I thought it was the majority of them but then again there aren't going to be that many coming out with the release so are possibly both a little right lol

Off and on for probably 25+ years, used to go out with my mom or grandma when I was younger then slacked off as I got a little older then pretty much every year for the past 16 years. Man had the internet only been as popular back then. Brad you should have started sooner lol

I read this earlier. Bummed me out. As you said though maybe I can get a great deal this year on a nice set. I missed getting a Pioneer by about 10 minutes when they went out. I walked into Best Buy and the guy in front of me was getting the last one at a really good price. It's time to replace our 50" Toshiba Plasma we bought in 06
