We take them down after the first of the year here. Once it's over I start thinking about the next Black Friday and waiting for it to get here. I love the holidays always have and always will.

I'm thinking we need pictures I feel bad this year we just haven't had time to do our normal decorating and our yard looks so blah. All of us have been rotating being sick.

Personally I would hire a band on Ninjas, solves multiple things here. 1. WHO DOESN'T LOVE NINJAS. 2. They will rid the neighborhood of people not fitting. 3. Again NINJAS. Being more serious it's disgusting the things people do. I'm originally from MI and we have a place called Bronners that's a Christmas wonderland. AWESOME place. Last year some kids vandalized multiple statues and displays causing around $100k in damage. Whats even worse. They did it on Christmas. DISGUSTING. I would look at a streaming web camera and put up a notice that says Hope you enjoy our decorations and being on camera. SMILE.

I asked for a miniature elephant (Have you seen the DirecTV ad with the mini giraffe?) but I'm pretty sure my wife won't be able to find this

Wow being the type of person I am, I'm not sure I couldn't have looked at her and said in a dead straight face I wish the same thing about you every day yet it doesn't seem to do any good. The door is right over there behind you please use it now and while you're at it forget where we live and our number. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Did you really just ask how someone can complain about something? OH people can find ways to complain about ANYTHING. You could give someone $1M tax free dollars and they would say sheesh you have $10M you could have given me more. lol I'm only messing with you but I see day in and day out so many people are so ungrateful for anything and everything. It makes me laugh and feel sorry for them at the same time.

If you feel you want or need to get people like this something then make a donation in their name to your favorite charity. At least you know it's helping someone out and is sort of a SO THERE type of moment. I refuse to let other scrooges make me one.

You know I think the only thing we bought for ourselves this year was 2 movies, 1 X DVD - A Christmas Story 2 and 1 X Blu-Ray The Big Bang Theory Season 5, paid $3.99 for the DVD and $16 for the Blu-Ray lol,

You sure this isn't one for next year if it was his last webcast? I know they were doing some for next year for at least the last 3-4 webcasts. -
Congrats

The Annual Black Friday 2012 Crazy Shoppers/Stories/News Reports
Kanyon71 replied to stationchief's topic in 2012
NOTHING exciting for us. As I said we would, we skipped the THursday sales went out at the same time we have every year since and still got everything we wanted. I am now resigned to the fact I will never again get a doorbuster as I refuse to Thursday shop. -
I'll be here all year, have been from the first time I found this site forward.

I usually end up getting stuff for my employees at Sams. They always have these gift set where there are 3-4 sets in a package. Sometimes they are cookies or candies in a mug sometime coffee or tea's they are usually pretty nice and work out under $10 a person.

Just saw it also when I logged into my RedCard. Cool.

i5 or i7 are good processors. For the most part you want a Quad core or higher nowadays. i3 is the low end Intel CPU and Dual Core isn't horrid but may be slow in some gaming.

Too funny actually bought 3 of those TomToms that year for various family members

The way that I look at a lot of things is EVERY brand out there has issues and people who hate them for one reason or another. Every brand will have things that are bad when you get them, go bad days/weeks months after you get them or will die after your warranty is out. No way around it. I always tell my friends do you homework on MANY sites and especially on sites that specialize in the type of thing you're looking to buy and take the good and bad reviews then draw your own decision after that. I have a Toshiba plasma I bought on BF 6-7 years ago now and I love it (still to this day am having a hard time finding a reason to replace it). I go for the extended warranty on the lesser brands (Dynex/Sansui/Westinghouse/etc) as they tend to use cheaper electronics inside even then I have 2 Dynex LCD tv's in my house and 1 of them replaced another Dynex when it died. Sometimes it's just a crap shoot on what you're going to get no matter the company or the price point.

I pretty sure running and jumping are required for Black Friday especially in places like Walmart

If you have a spare room you could put up all your stuff in there and then forbid them to enter the room during the holiday season. Explain to them that even though the holiday seems to lack importance to them it still holds a great deal for you. If they would like to celebrate the holiday with you then suggest that THEY move things to the place they belong and if not tell them that their presents are at the store when they care to go buy them for themselves.

I know last year and most likely again this year we shopped less. I won't give up my Thanksgiving in any part to head out to the stores. We still got up early and headed out to the stores but all the crowds had died down and the door buster sales had long since been gone and to be honest I was ok with that. Made our shopping much smoother and no mass stupidity out there.

What differences between the Nook HD+ and the Kindle? I didn't think there was much of a price difference but I'm also not big into tabs so I can't say for sure.
-
You know the Nook HD and Nook HD+ are both the competition for the Fire? I bought my wife a Nook Color when it came out, this year I'm buying her the HD+ to replace it. Was going iPad Mini until the price came out then that changed my mind for me.

Yes and with the Nook lines you can always lend out digital books to people.
