  1. We bought a few things online the last few days for our daughter. Some of it has already arrived. The season is NOW ON.
  2. I think it's the thrill of the hunt for me, the tradition of it all. To be out there to do the things we have done year after year, yes we get some online but to be honest I LOVE that feeling when you find that BluRay box set of your favorite show that someone hid inside of a microwave to come back for later on and yes this has been something we have done along with a door buster GPS hidden behind cameras and a few other things. HAHA we rule at B.F. hide and seek
  3. Ours was a higher end item. 50" Toshiba Plasma TV back in 06. The TV was in BestBuy for around $2600 on sale most of the year, B.F. it was a DoorBuster and we got it for $1499 with free delivery and setup. 0 problems with the TV to this day, when we relocated from FL to MI in July we gave it to my inlaws to replace their failing DLP (that was purchased a few months before ours and was on it's 3rd bulb). They are still enjoying it now and to be honest I really don't see that changing anytime soon.
  4. Photo 1: MAN I can't belive so many people showed up for the Buy 1 SPAM Get 1 FREE sale. Photo 2: (Queens We are the champions playing in background) YAAAAAAAA I told you all it's a Marathon NOT a RACE. Now why am I here again? Photo 3: (crying into her hands) I can't believe we slept here for 3 days, waded through 1000's of people and those flippin GottaDeal.com People still got my Doorbuster!!!!!!!
  5. Not bad but nothing really jumping out at me.
  6. Never camped out and can't say I ever would. I enjoy the time with family and friends far too much. We just get up stupid early to go out lol.
  7. At least the list of people I have to try and beat out has shrunk some lol
  8. We usually have our normal Christmas Eve get together, then my wife daughter and I open our Christmas PJ's make some hot chocolate, load into the car and drive around looking at lights in the neighborhoods. Our little one (now 3 will be 4 by Christmas this year) usually falls asleep in the car. When we are done looking at the lights we drive home and get her in bed and get ready for Santa to show up. We have been trying to read her a Christmas story before we go out looking at lights also. Christmas day we have been doing a brunch for immediate family with French Toast Casserole, Hash brown casserole and bacon. This year may change things some since it will be our first year living up north (I was born and raised here but moved to FL 16 years ago, wife and daughter are born and raised in FL) though we plan to keep as much of the traditions as possible.
  9. Yes indeed we do. Hoping this year to get a great deal on a 65"-70" TV for the new house We also pick up movies and things for ourselves and usually the box set for sitcoms we watch.
  10. Unless they have changed Alienware is usually only sold online. They are very high end and usually you order to your specs. I'm not sure about great sales but I have seen sales on their web pages just don't remember the time of year.
  11. We usually look at things all year long. This year we moved states so we ended up only picking up a couple of things. We do a lot on BF though and then finish up all the smaller things between then and Christmas.
  12. Ya a contest is what we really need. That would really kick things off right now.
  13. Yes indeed getting into full swing of it now
  14. Department 56 seems to be a very collectible brand. I think many places have them but we usually look at them (starting to collect once the new place is finished) at a place here called Bronner's they have online sales also if you want to look.
  15. Well we all know that the first thing we will hear about from Walmart here is the lawyer-up letter
  16. I think one of these years I'm going to make it my goal to collect on DVD/Blu-Ray or Digital all the Christmas movies I ever watch. I would like to get most of them in Digital so I can just stream them around the house.
  17. Honestly I think they are doing it to make a buck, doesn't matter when the day falls. They see it as a way to get more money faster. I guess at the end of the they need money to stay in business but I will continue our tradition and skip going on Thursday.
  18. I have to agree the magic of the season is something that often get's overlooked. Even when I was little I loved the holiday season not just because of the gifts but because of everything else it brought. My wife and I still are this way, we get excited when they holiday coffees start to come out, we love the shopping for the sheer fun and tradition of it more than just the deals we get. I refuse to let stores get me down I speak with the only way I can and I don't hit the stores on thanksgiving I still wait for BF they way it should be to me. Yes I do go online but that won't change that I will still be out there. Just this year I will be freezing my butt off like BF and Christmas should be
  19. I put mine in within minutes of the thread going up lol
  20. I think it's better when you have more than one of a type of store in the general area. Like BestBuy we had a few around us the last few years and would go to one of the more out of the way ones and the crowds were MUCH better. I will still be doing a little online and in store though just happy the time is approaching.
  21. We ordered the things we wanted to make sure we got online for either home delivery or site-to-store. Then went out for all of the rest of the stuff, what we couldn't get in the store we then ordered online again once we got back home.
  22. If they follow the last few years we are only a few weeks out from the first leak so I would expect to start seeing bigjimslade pretty soon. He is probably prepping his plans for camping already lol.
  23. Last time I upgraded I did it through BestBuy. Did it all right in store I wiped the phone they did the trade in and I got the new phone. Probably be the same thing I do this time, except I won't be doing it until next year as I waited the last time so I have a few months left for the discount.
