In talking with employees a lot of them told me Thursday wasn't as busy in store as years past. I think a lot of people ordered online Wednesday night and then did other shopping on Friday and Saturday. I would prefer that Thursday only be an online day and Friday for the going out myself. Now I'm waiting for all the christmas decorations to go one sale since we will have to replace most of ours from the move for next year

This year it ended up just my wife and I all day Friday.

I pre ordered the Fire Stick also, hmmmmmmm do I want the full thing or not...

We got a lot more into the holiday spirit once we started shopping online Wednesday night, then had the big family dinner and then off shopping on Friday and Saturday. Sunday we put up a tree (fake since we are staying with friends until our house is done) We got some of those fir sticks that make it smell more real. It set off the mood big time, we got one of the trees that plays a music and light show and watching our daughter dance while decorating was the best.

My wife is a teacher and I can tell you she really enjoys the gift cards and hand made cards they usually come with. She says every time she uses a gift card it makes her think of the child. She used one not too long ago and still remembered what child gave it to her last year. I think last year she got some from Dunkin Donuts, Target, Starbucks. One of her families also got her some of the holiday scented things from Bath and Body Works that she loved.

I have never heard of this Is it like a QR code or something you scan on the mailbox?

We don't know when we will be in our new house yet (construction grumble grumble) so we went and bought a new fake tree Sunday and put it up. We got the iTwinkle tree from Lowes it's pretty cool.

They won't be on the cheapish side but there are still some good deals on the Dyson ones out there. We have a Dyson Animal and love it, we have had 0 problems and it works great.

Only place that was really busy was HomeDepot, Kmart wasn't horrible busy but as always SLOW.

We got pretty much everything we were after. 3x iPad Mini 16GB (1xTarget with $80 card, 2x Walwart - We got one for my inlaws and picked up the other two for our friends for their boys) 42" Vizio TV - (our bedroom TV was damaged on Monday so this wasn't planned) Refrigerator from a local place (new house being built and we got an awesome deal on a floor model) Lots of toy's for our daughter, nieces and nephews Clothes for multiple people Lots of other things, filled up the back of the SUV lol

We going to have the open all year Black Friday forum? I think we need to start planning for next year now. Man I wonder when the first ad will be out (there I got it out of the way).

The Asus you mention is more of a Netbook than an actual Laptop. The Atom processor is very low power and 32gb of storage will go VERY quick in the windows world There are still some decent deals out there right now though.

Was funny of all the stores we went to today HD was the ONLY one that was busy when we got there and stayed that way the whole time. We ended up getting 2 poinsettias and a bottle of winter washer fluid lol

Wow completely not impressed. May order a couple of smaller things online but the rest not great at all. I think they didn't want us to all see it so that we would only have minimal time to make fun of them.

I don't know what you guys are exactly looking to spend but I just noticed Dell Home has an Alienware on sale online for $999, Alienware isn't everyone's thing and it's not everything it used to be but it's still pretty high end.

I'm hoping we can get the iPad mini for my in-laws. Will make it easier to Facetime them with our little one and our iPad.

I picked up a few things on their sale, will be watching for a couple of others tonight to see if I can get them

I think one of the largest limiting factors you're going to see in most consumer brand laptops like those you mention is going to be the graphics that are built in. Intel has always been behind the curve in integrated graphics but usually makes up for it with a little more CPU muscle, the part where that can cause issues is games where they tend to rely more on the card and how it can process scenes. If you can find something with say an nVidia GT XXXM (replace X's with number) or an ATi Dedicated you will get a smoother overall frame rate. Now this will become a bigger issue as they start to want to play more than Minecraft, most modern games will destroy an integrated gpu.

Actually I have gotten BB to price match many times on BF, the major exception is that the item CANNOT be a Door Buster and must be able to be verified in stock locally. Outside of that I have had them match a TV and a few other things. Sometimes you just have to ask the right person and be extra nice. lol

Lowes seems to have them in a variety of price ranges. Some seem to be pretty decent deals but not killer in my eyes.
