  1. Mom received her package yesterday. She asked me to post and to tell her secret santa how much she loves it and to say thank you. Mom received a "very pretty bracelet" (which she told me at least 3x how very pretty it is.). She says it is a blue-green in color and she thinks "it is very versatile and will match a lot of her outfits." I will take a picture next week and try to get it posted so all can see. Thank you again Secret Santa!
  2. Sorry for the delay in posting. Mom received her box on Tuesday. And of course she opened it IMMEDIATELY. (Her philosophy since her 80th birthday has been "Hey, I could be dead tomorrow! I'm opening it NOW!") Unfortunately, she had everything open and has everything placed where she wants it to be placed - before I could get over there with my camera! Her very first words were "Candy! I got Candy! Lots and lots of Candy! All my favorites! How did she know??....(pause)...Don't buy me any candy for Christmas. I have enough right now." (Oh well, I guess her Christmas candy from me just became New Year's candy.) Mom is thrilled with everything and says "Thank you to my Secret Santa! She sure is a good shopper! I love everything! Happy happy Eva!" Mom's Secret Santa was very generous and I am in shock and very appreciative of her (or his) thoughtfulness! (Mom would have been thrilled with just the candy! But you literally got her everything on her Christmas list!) Mom received: 1 can of Almond Roca, 1 bag of Linder Dark Chocolate truffles, a big bag of assorted Christmas candies (Which included a large Dove dark chocolate bar. Mom did share with me the peanut butter cups -- she doesn't like those. But the rest of the Christmas candies I've been told to "keep my paws out of there because those are hers".) 3 - 3 kcup boxes of Gevalia coffee. (Oh boy did that make her happy! New coffee to try! -- But *I* am going to have to have a word with you secret santa, if Gevalia becomes mom's new go to brand.....) 1 coloring book with colored pencils -- the pictures are all "Ugly Christmas Sweaters". (Could not have picked better! Mom loves holiday sweaters!) 1 "Happy Holidays" Santa pin with a long white beard. (Mom loved this - she wore it Friday to her Sr. Apartment complex's Christmas party.) 1 Red light weight Christmas shirt that sports glittery white snow flakes, Christmas trees, two penguins and a large heart in the center. (Mom plans on wearing that to the Senor Center this week. Light weight is perfect as mom will wear a sweater or sweater vest over it. Thank you again from both of us for mom's lovely gifts. She has been talking about them all week and says she just can't believe what a wonderful job you did shopping and how thoughtful you were.
  3. This is Reinholt1 posting for mom. (Mom is 85 years old.) Mom received her package last evening and was very very happy. She snatched it from me quickly and went tot he couch to open it. She was surprised at all the packages inside...."It's just like a Christmas stocking! It's stuffed with packages!" Oh geez....she found chocolate. She already telling me "It's mine!" Mom got Snickers candy, Vanilla hand lotion, red nail polish, a peacock emery board, a hair brush, socks, mittens, snowman tissue, a Chihuahua mystery book and a snowman bandanna. She kept saying "This is terrific! That is terrific! I can use all these things." (Indeed, she just got out of the hospital having had a hip replacement and she was asking for things like a bandanna and an emery board and socks.) Indeed, secret santa if you don't believe me that she was excited about getting socks from you...here she is wearing the socks my 2014 secret santa (NovemberDiva) gave me last year and she stole from me! (She is wearing a lot of socks and footies right now as she recovers.) Mom says to say "thank you very much" to her secret santa and to tell you that you are an excellent shopper.
  4. Posting for my 84 year old mother as she does not understand attachments etc. She is very happy with all her gifts and says "Thank you again Secret Santa!" She received 2 colorful shirts that she cannot wait for warmer weather to wear. Plus some chocolate (which is now gone and she is eating mine!!!) and a coffee mug that matcher her new shirts! (Talk about being color co-ordinated!) UNFORTUNATELY --- we found one last gift on the bottom of the SS box that mom is NOT happy about. She as that "In the future, please tell my secret santa not to sent me any more bugs!!" (Mom is not a fan of bugs...alive or dead. Thank goodness it was not a spider! I would have really heard it then!!!)
  5. Maybe we should just declare "Grumpy Cat: Worst Christmas Ever" as the 2014 winner and sit back to see what happens.
  6. Hey...it's getting down to the two week mark before Christmas.....Are we doing the Christmas movie face off again this year??
  7. SS GIFT RECEIVED! THANK YOU SS! [[[[ ]]]] Actually it's Reinholt1 posting on behalf of my 84 yr old mom. When I stopped by today, mom met me with the box in hand saying "This just arrived, who is it from?" I pointed to the "SS" in the return address and said "It's your Secret Santa". At that, her face lit up and she said "Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh Boy! I am opening it NOW!!!" and she turned and ran back into her building and that was the last I saw of her. 20 minutes later she calls me on the phone: "Do you want to know what I got?? I got CHOCOLATE!" Boy you sure made Mom's day! She's happy. (She's probably eaten it all by now too.) Mom also said that she received a mug with a purple design that matches her new jacket. (Mom has gotten into some of her Christmas presents already...::sigh:: She is opening one every day, advent calendar style, between Thanksgiving and Christmas. (And if she doesn't like me telling everyone, then she needs to learn how to write her own dumb posts! ::ducking out of mom's reach very quickly: ) Mom also found 2 knit summer shirts in her box that she is very happy with...one is a bright solid green which she says she can't wait for St. Patrick's Day to wear. ("You can't find sold green shirts with this kind of green in March. I can't wait to wear it.") and a summery white shirt with a bright blue and yellow design with flecks of black. Mom says she will "wear it with black pants to make the black flecks pop right out." I know Mom is happy with them because she is already matching them up with pants and deciding when she can wear them! I'll post pictures after I go over and take them. (Well, as I said, I think that small box of Russell Stover chocolates is gone by now so I think I missed that photo!) Thank you very much Secret Santa...Reinholt1sMom is very happy with her surprises!
  8. CHRISTMAS MUSIC IN METRO DETROIT! It's begun this weekend! 100.3! ENJOY!
  9. Will say a prayer for her! Kids have amazing abilities to heal as they grow, something we adults loose the ability to do! I have seen kids at our local peds hospital make liars out of the doctors regularly. (And the docs rejoice when it happens too.) Hopefully your little girl's brain and nervous system can do so some growing and rewiring so the paralysis will be minimal to none!
  10. Yay! Count Reinholt1 and Reinholt1's Mom in. We had alot of fun with this last year! (Especially Mom!) Looking forward to this year!!
  11. The article mentioned the Detroit Free Press charging more on Thanksgiving, like this was a "new" thing. Unfortunately, this will be at least the third year they will be charging us $2 for the Thanksgiving paper. It is a big paper though. I guess after 3 years we've all just gotten used to paying more for our paper on Thanksgiving.
  12. Hello! Talking animals has posted their now annual Christmas video which features family pets singing a familiar Christmas video. Very cute! Great for bringing on a smile! They have 4 other Christmas videos on Youtube from previous year. Take the time to view them, if you have never seen them. Great editing job!
