  1. No problem here. I have Adobe Reader 9 installed.
  2. I don't recall having any issues last year.
  3. Right - if I am not mistaken they were available sometime around 3 or 4 AM Central time on Thanksgiving.
  4. I'm sure they will make it to BF. After this holiday season, they are as good as dead in their current form. The website is their best asset. I buy from it all of the time. Their stores are awful. They are poorly laid out, checkout is generally a mess, and don't get me started on the 1980s fax roll receipts that take an hour to print out.
  5. That press release is not related to BF - it is well known that the prices on the website were generally better than in-store for many items. This just lowers the prices in store to match the website. As far as getting BF deals on the website, you could already do that the past few years.
  6. They died about 10 years ago in the Chicago area. No big loss.
  7. It's called Wednesday night recon - go to the stores right before they close on Wednesday night (at least for the stores closed on Tgiving) - most stores are putting things in place for Friday morning.
  8. And I should add has unparalleled customer service. Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, Sears, etc. should stop by and take some notes.
  9. Just picked up the awesome 17 inch laptop! http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=srch1&Ntt=dv9407nr&N=0&Dx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&D=dv9407nr&Ntk=All&product_code=347865
  10. Not sure why you would go wait in line for hours for a $449 laptop when there have been numerous opportunities to buy an equivalent laptop online for the same price or less over the past few months.
  11. First of all, I never call. They get a letter that includes whatever "corrections" they said were necessary. In the letter I politely ask that they forward the rebate within 30 days and if they do not, a BBB complaint will be filed. Then I wait 30 days - if no rebate - complaint is filed (can be done online). That gets their attention. I collect them ALL
  12. Hey, it's worth a shot. Good luck.
  13. Usually it is a name brand that they cannot disclose due to advertising restrictions. So it could be Sharp, Toshiba, Sony or anyone else that is "famous."
  14. To get a good deal on a laptop, they need to be sold below cost (including rebates, if any). The markup on laptops is very small so these prices will not be anything to get excited about unless they include a rebate on top of that.
  15. List seems short - no FAR software?
  16. Well, I was falling asleep looking at until I got to the last page - 17" HP notebook for $449 - that is the cheapest I have ever seen a 17" laptop.

    Help with the Ad

Yep - I open with CC every year. All of the really sweet deals (whether doorbusters or not) are gone within an hour or two. Gurnee Al - we need Brad to add the Illini flag avatar.
  18. 4 am will probably allow you to nab most of the 2 day specials. Or you could try online.
  19. Yep - CC is big on rebates, especially on BF. Last year, I had to send in about 15 - 20 rebates just from stuff purchased at CC.
  20. Confirmed - it states no PM on Black Friday right on the ad: http://www2.meijer.com/ads/default.aspx?sid=228
  21. Instant savings - the amount is deducted at the register to arrive at the sale price.
  22. FYI - the terms of the rebate state that the rebate will not exceed the purchase price - $67.99 in the case of the OP's deal. So the net cost is $15.47, not $8.46. Still a good deal.
  23. I am not sure why you would expect a price match + $150 rebate on top of that. Most stores will not do that (although that is definitely a YMMV type of thing). It definitely sucks that they told you it was okay over the phone though and should have to eat it for their mistake. So in the end I agree with you :)
