Well hmmmpppffff I for one certainly wont be staying up all night for those sales. Was really crossing my fingers for that comporable laptop too. Ahh well.

Maybe only weird along the same lines as you with the vacuum...if people want to consider that weird LOL but I want one of the robotic vacuums. With hardwood floors and 2 dogs who shed like crazy and bring in dirt from the backyard, I want something that I can put on the floor and let go to pick up some hair and dirt without me having to drag out the large vacuum or spend an hour sweeping.

Ugghhh, another Walmart layaway question. Just like the past 10 posts that have asked instead of reading the existing posts first, do a search for more information and call your local Walmart to see what their policy is.

I got the new server with both links.

For the past 2 years, Best Buy has had the best at basic laptops right at $499, but this year with Walmart and possibly CompUSA competing with the $399 ones, I am waiting to see if Best Buy is going to try and compete as well with something comporable.

I just have this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach that as many of the stores are onto the leaks now, they are going to make sure nothing is leaked until the actual ads come out on Thanksgiving. I really hope not, but I can see it happening as Im shocked that nothing else like Target, Best Buy, etc. have come out yet.

Unfortunately just another one of Walmarts idiosyncrasies that each store makes up their own rules as they go along. Just one of the reasons that I havent stepped foot into a Walmart in almost a year and the reason that I'm REALLY hoping that someone comes out with some comporable deals to Walmart so I dont have to go there.

Oh Oh Oh, I really hope this ad is true....and that CompUSA opens at midnight. There is a bunch of stuff that I want, and I'm scared of Walmart LOL

I found a great idea in the Crate and Barrel catalog (also seen them at Z Gallerie) this year that I am going to try and make cheaper than I can buy. The only thing is, these are pretty contemporary/modern style, so if you are more traditional or country, I dont think they would work in your house. Anyway, get 3 (or however many you want) cone shaped stryofoam peices, some glue and a large bucket of red glitter. Spread the glue all over the sytrofoam peices and slater them with red glitter and voila....contemporary christmas tree decor. I am trying to wait out to see if I can get a deal on really tiny beads as they used on the ones for sale at Crate and Barrel, but if you are on a budget, glitter would work just as well too. Arrange the trees in the middle of the table with some pine garland or pine branches, a few little ornaments or candles and you have a nice centerpeice.

How many Black Fridays have you shopped prior to this year?
floridasun5 replied to MarkRaby's topic in 2005
This is #3 for me. The last 2 years have been focused on Best Buy and their deals. The first year I went by myself which wasnt alot of fun, then last year dh went with me, now he's hoooked too! -
I voted no too, I cant imagine wanting to shop with a stranger on BF. What if you both people wanted the same thing? I can see bad feelings here. BF is not a day I want to share with anyone other than my family.

I have a love/hate relationship with black friday LOL I love being able to get the deals, butI always worry about not getting something that I want due to rude people like those butting in line, crashing the door, people taking more than they should, etc. Luckily Ive always gotten what I want at my 2 BF's the last 2 years at Best Buy, but it was close there last year. While I do get excited about getting good deals, I would be EXTREMELY upset if I spent hours upon hours waiting in line for something only to find out that whether it be other customers faults or the stores fault that I didnt get what I was waiting for.

Luckily we dont have little kids that we have to worry about getting into the presents. My daughter is 12 and I usually have to wake her up on Christmas morning, so no rules or anything needed here.
-
Wow! Must have been like a herd of elephants that stormed the site after that CNN article went live! LOL
-
Well I have spent ALOT more than planned in a sense by getting a new car in September which I hadnt planned on, but is considered to be my christmas present otherwise, I havent spent hardly anything yet on others, but getting VERY anxious! LOL I love to buy, buy, buy and Im trying to hold off until the season officially starts so I can enjoy all the Christmas sales/specials, decorations and all in the stores that I love.

Look up on the gray area above right below the Black Friday logo where it says My Shopping List...right between Sale Ads and Most Wanted. From there, you can click on Edit List and check off which items you would like to add to your list from the sale ads provided. From what I understand, you are automatically added to the email notification list once you create a shopping list so if something goes on sale online for the same price, you will get an email notifying you of it. Great resource!

Ohhhhh...I love to see others trees Im such a decorating fool come Christmas time LOL Previously my tree was white lites with jeweled fruits, white poinsettas and red ribbon with a few other glittered balls and such thrown in...all jewel tone colors. This year since I changed my decor, I am going with a silver theme. I still have a green tree with white lites, but I will have lots of silver glitter balls and silver beads or ribbon, etc. Might also thrown in some red to give it a bit of interest and since my tree skirt is red, but mainly it will be alot of white/silver/glittery things. I also HAVE to coordinate my packages with the tree LOL Does anyone else do that?

If people think you are crazy then I must be really looney! I buy my 2 dogs almost as much stuff as I buy my daughter! LOL So far they have a large box of christmas cookies and a few toys and bones, but I still have on the list to get them a new bed, and a few more bones. We take turns with helping them open gifts, just like everyone else!

Can someone who has been there before tell me if this sale is REALLY worth it? Upon loooking at the links posted with such advertised sales of 50% off silver, 70% off jewelry, 30% off other stuff, that seems like normal sales that you can see in the paper every week, or at least during special sales that they have throughout the year. I didnt see anything in the Sears black friday paper that I wanted, so Im not worried about getting the black friday prices, but I guess I didnt see any sale prices that was really worth the trip. What else is everyone looking for that they think they can get really good prices on?
-
Right now its Walmart for the laptop for my daughter. Im really hoping that Best Buy comes out with something better or comporable though since I really hate Walmart.
-
Well being that a laptop is on the list to get for my daughter, thats $400 right there. Over and above that, I hope to not spend anymore than about $500 total, so an additional $100 on little things like a wireless mouse, etc.
-
MUCH less than last year. Previous years I just spent and spent without worrying about how much I was spending. This year we are remodeling our house, I just got a new car and everyone just doesnt need all the junk that is out there.
-
Do you think you spend to much on your kids for Christmas????
floridasun5 replied to Tessangel's topic in 2005
I used to spend way too much, but have cut down considerably since last year. My dd (12) doesnt necessarily appreciate anything anyway as she is a spoiled only child who expects us to do stuff for her, and the stuff usually just winds up on her bedroom floor getting trampled on anyway. I have been trying to talk my parents into not buying her toys and little stuff anymore that she is growing up, but they wont listen. She is only getting a few things from dh and I, but one is a laptop with accessories, so no, I dont spend too much anymore. -
My parents think Im crazy, but they just dont like anything to do with crowds. They just moved out into the boonies because they didnt like the growing crowd of the small town they lived in Dh used to think I was crazy and still doenst 100% enjoy Black Friday as last year was the first year I took him, but he was just asking what we are going to buy this year, so I guess he wants to go again!
