Thanks. I know its probably not that big of a deal for Christmas presents, its just the whole sneaking thing that drives me nuts. We've had problems with her sneaking before and I just have no patience for that crap. We took her computer away last week due to bad grades and I found out she was sneaking to use that when Im not home so I had to start taking it to work with me, she was sneaking in my room and bathroom and taking stuff, breaking things when nobody is home, sneaking food into her room and then lying about it when confronted. Its just things like that which add up and then when I find out that she is also ruining christmas and opening things that dont even belong to her yet since I havent gifted them, its like the straw that broke the camels back and I just get sooo frustrated.

I am so mad right now. I just found out that my teenage daughter (14) has opened the few gifts that I have under the tree for her. I can tell that the tape has been removed because it pulls the color off of the wrapping paper and re-taped. Another reason I know is because...I admit...I used to do the same thing as a kid However, I at least know how my mother felt now. She used to just tell me if I wanted to ruin my own Christmas, she didnt care, but this just really pisses me off. While my dd is generally a good kid, I have had some problems with her lately not listening and sneaking, etc. but overall she does what I tell or ask her to do. So, is this just a teenage thing, or do I really have the right to be so mad? Do others face the same thing? What do you do? This is going to be a light Christmas as we just started a new business, so I cant take away the few gifts that she is getting because she snooped. Anyone have any other creative ways to handle this? Thanks.

Our ad in central FL is different too. The $84 DVD player has been replaced with the 6.2" $54 player Its in the same spot as the $84 one in the scan so I know its just been replaced. I had thought something wasnt right anyway when the regular price of the Audiovox in store is $179.99 and the ad has it listed as a regular price of $149.99. Good thing I didnt buy it early to get a price adjustment!

Sorry, I know how frustrating it is! We used to go out to BB a few years ago when we could get there about 2am and still be within the top 25-30 people. We drove by our same BB about 6:30pm tonight and there are already 100-150 people in line! Its gotten way too ridiculous and its so not worth it. They would have to be giving me a free top of the line computer to spend 24 hours + outside waiting, even in our 70 degree weather! LOL I will still go out to stores that I can spend a few hours waiting for something, but thats about the extent of it.

:rolleyes:Did anyone get a different ad in their paper than what was posted here?? The $84 DVD Player isnt even in my area...they have some really bad 6.2" for $54 instead. So, I guess no Target DVD for me unless they put it online.

OMG, so I go to get ready to buy 2 garlands, a wreath and 2 small ornaments to decorate my store for Christmas. They wanted over $52 to ship it!!!!!!! Now, being in business, I get a lot of stuff shipped to me and I ship alot of stuff out and I can ship an awful heavy and many boxes for cheaper than $52 and I know that 2 garlands that fold up into a box and an average sized wreath would not cost half of that! Are they really expecting people to pay that kind of shipping rates for their stuff??? And of course they only give free shipping on SELECT items Target just lost a $200 order that I was going to place due to their inflated shipping costs!

Most like filtered, meaning not out of the tap with all kinds of junk in it. Filtered out of fridge or bottled.

No plan this year Im not going to be able to get out since I have to work early that morning for 12 hours so I need to sleep, not stand in line all night. The only thing I *really* need is a portable dvd player so I'm hoping a good deal shows up online so I can at least get what I need for this year.
-
I'm really shocked myself this year. As much as the stores are crying about slow sales and troubled times, you'd think they would be slashing prices left and right to just get people in the store!

This thread is cracking me up! After all, isnt it a parents job to tease their children and embarrass them as much as possible???
-
I think its hysterical...not mean at all! My parents did it to me all the time and of course I do it to my DD I just love to watch their reactions and get soooo worried ROFL especially when they know that they've always gotten what they wanted year after year.

I dont have to boycott, I havent stepped foot into a Walmart in about a year now! They lost my business with just their lousy, disrespectul and overall lack of customer service! Walmart has nothing that I cant get anywhere else. No reason to go on BF or any other day IMHO.

There's a huge thread already started on this topic just a few down from yours. http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=81803

I cant believe all the people rushing the door in that video! Shame, shame!

Some stores like Kmart and Big Lots have Thanksgiving day sales, but most big sales are Friday after Thanksgiving. Also, your friend may have been referencing the fact that with most stores nowadays you need to be in line on Thanskgiving night to get any hot items! See the sticky thread at the top of the forum for a list of all ads and some you will see are for Thanksgiving day.

I get a no results error when I click on that link. Do you have another? I'd be really curious to read this! In response to the OP, I dont have any other ideas other than what has already been posted. I think most people have no patience for line jumpers, so someone will surely speak up and inform others or the right people. Unfortunately it usually depends on how much the management wants to get involved as to whether anything will be done or not
-
I'm hoping so, because I need one too. What I'm unsure about is whether this is considered a HOT item or not. I know Target usually isnt one for people lining up the night before like Best Buy so I dont know if I get there as they open if they will still have any left or if they give out tickets for these. Never have been to Target on BF before LOL

I just started a new retail business and therefore, we will need to be open on Black Friday. Our store is not a store that will be doing anything special for BF, so we will just be opening normal store hours at about 10am, but Im wondering if anyone else has the problem of having to work later on in the morning of BF and how you do it? I just dont know about going out to shop at midnight until 5,6,7 am and then having to go straight to work. I think I'd be falling asleep at the counter LOL Anyone else have to do this? Any tips? How do you handle it?

Not ethical. Many of the stores kick those people out of line and make them leave the premises for a reason.

I might want to get in on this deal as Im in need of a new laptop, but can someone tell me what a Turion processor is? Ive always used Intel/ Pentiums and I dont know how Turion compares to those. Is it better? the same? worse? I know I wont go back to a Celeron again, so Im worried about switching up anything from my Intel/ Pentiums now. Thanks! Edit: Nevermind, I guess the deal is dead now as Im getting a price of $681 with that code. But I'd still like to learn more about the Turion's if anyone has any input for future deals. Thanks!

Thanks. I live in northern Orlando. This happened at the Target store parking lot right next to the Florida Mall in Orlando. So, these idiots dont care that they try to pull this stuff in the middle of a crowded parking lot, so thats why I wanted to warn everyone. I got a call from the police officer a few minutes ago stating that they caught the 2 men and they are in custody. I'll see those ba*#*#*ds in court!

I didnt go out on BF until the afternoon, but my best deal was the 42" Samsung plasma for $1399. Regular price $1799., so even though it was later in the day, it was still nearly equivalent to a early morning deal :)

Luckily I'm here and alive to warn everyone else, but just wanted everyone to know to please be careful this holiday season when going to and from your car in parking lots. I was attacked today by someone who tried to rob me of my purse and steal my car. I was pushed to the ground and he got in my car, but luckily I had the keys that he couldnt get away from me, so he couldnt go anywhere. Im not sure why, but even though he tried to steal my purse, he didnt take anything and fled when I started screaming for help. I believe they got the guys that tried to attack me. Again, luckily he didnt have any weapons or didnt try to hurt me too much, but again, I just wanted to let others know (especially women) to please be careful because you never know. I am one that is always pretty aware of my surroundings, always looking behind me, not hanging around once I get in my car, etc. but this guy just came out of nowhere as I was trying to get in my car. I'm not a specialist on what to do and what not to do to prevent these things, but I just wanted to come and warn everyone. Its so easy to think it wont happen to me, but it really does.

Only went to Best Buy today and it wasnt until later in the afternoon as there were no doorbusters that were worth me standing in line all night for. So, tomorrow I plan on doing most of my shopping. Will be hitting the mall, Target, Petco, Michaels, etc. and hopefully getting 90% of my shopping done while my husband is away! :)

If anyone has ventured over to the CC board, you'll read my problems with them and getting my tv delivered that I ordered on Tuesday, the 21st. Well since time is of the essence here and Im not so trusting of CC after they screwed me around the first time, I decided to see if any of the Best Buys had the Panasonic tvs still ( I didnt know they were a secret special) so I called the Best Buy 800 # and asked them and the woman told me that all the Best Buys in my area had them so I headed to my nearest BB to pricematch the CC price and pick it up today. Well come to find out, they didnt have any, however, the associate that I was dealing with (Kevin) was GREAT! He took the time to go in the back to check to make sure they didnt have any, tried to call another store and when he couldnt find any, he went back to look to see what they did have. He showed me a Samsung that they had that was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! but the price was $1799.99 which was more than I was willing to pay just because it had a pretty shiny black surround instead of the gray LOL He went to talk to his manager and came back and gave me this $1800 tv for $1399! Additionally, the BB service plan was only $20 more than CC, but I get it for 4 years instead of 3! I'm still waiting for help to arrive to get the tv out of my truck as its extremely heavy, but I am VERY happy with my BB and the service I received today! Additionally, I used my Reward Zone which I didnt have with CC and will still get a % back from using my Discover card! Its not often that you get this kind of service, particularly at this time of year, so I am VERY grateful to this associate for taking the time and interest in assisting me and making sure I have a tv before my husband comes home on Sunday. I cannot wait to get it setup and to see my husbands face when he comes home! This Best Buy and this associate just made my Christmas and I will always return to give him my business in the future. Thank you to the Best Buy in Altamonte Springs Florida!
