Now that I know I'm going to get that roaster I better figure out what to do with the free turkey!

:eek: (running around looking for loose change and empty cans ) Guess I better clean out the minivan and get it ready for BF! :)

We don't really have any traditions yet, but usually DH and I take turns going to mass on Christmas eve (the kids can't sit still for 2 minutes so they stay at home with one of us while the other one goes). We also go driving around to look at lights often and remind the kids about the reason for the season (they're starting to understand). We also do the angel tree and the kids love dropping money into the red kettles. I bake cookies and take care of all the presents (while watching midnight mass on tv) and end up getting to bed about 4am. The one thing we always do is call back home to the Philippines and talk to family even though we can do live chat via computer :) Christmas Day is also my dad's birthday, so I always take a quiet moment to think of him and imagine what things would be like if he were still with us. FIL's birthday is two days after so I do the same for him as well.

I don't even know if I'm getting one this year... too much trouble to go through for just 4 of us. Might just do a turkey breast this year if DH really wants turkey ("it's only once a year," he says). Of course with Meijer's current deal (buy the roaster that's on sale, get a turkey up to $25 and a chef's knife free) I may still end up with a turkey :)

With the size of the lists anyone would get confused!

60 on both ornament and SS? 47 on cards? (figuring budget for GD activity only) Seriously, I'm really looking forward to it! :)

Generally I don't but just to make sure this year I'm asking DH how much I'll be able to spend. We just paid off our mortgage but have a couple other bills to take care of so we still need to watch our spending. Even so, we have a lot of people to think of both here and (mostly) overseas. And then there's DH's own list...

... and I wouldn't be surprised if he puts one on his BF list for me to get!

My DH is trying to sell his like new Garmin because he thinks he wants a laptop. Bought it new just a few months ago...

I shop Michaels and they have discount off your entire purchase coupons good for certain time periods in the am (and the biggest one, of course, will be the first one). If I remember correctly the times overlap just slightly and you might be able to use them together. Last year I wasn't able to make it in there and I had all my coupons ready! It's always a good sale though, definitely worth going to.

So nice to wake up to a new ad! :)

I understand feeling the "need" to participate, but if it were me I'd tell them that unless the limit was much lower I unfortunately wouldn't be able to participate. You said the "limit" was $35. That doesn't mean you have to spend that much... if someone can't appreciate the thought then they need to remind themselves of what's really important :)

Only 20-30 minutes in either direction for me since we moved last year, but it's not a big deal since we make that drive just about every weekend.

I would say Michael's too, great deals when those tree coupons come out.

Even though we have two nice ones already I have no doubt that if DH sees one he likes in an ad then he'll put it on his list of things for me to get!
