  3. My Favorite!!! Peanut Butter Blossoms Ingredients: • 1/2 cup Crisco® Butter Shortening • 1/2 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar • 1/2 cup granulated sugar • 1 large egg • 2 tablespoons milk • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1 3/4 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour • 1 teaspoon baking soda • 1/2 teaspoon salt • Sugar • 48 foil-wrapped milk chocolate pieces, unwrapped Directions: 1. HEAT oven to 375°F. 2. CREAM together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well. 3. STIR together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat on low speed until stiff dough forms. 4. SHAPE into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. 5. BAKE 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. 6. TOP each cookie immediately with an unwrapped chocolate piece, pressing down firmly so that cookie cracks around edge. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.
  4. I hope they find the people that did this and they rot in jail! That is terrible. How can you run over someone just to save a few bucks???!!! WOW. I guess some people have ABSOLUTELY NO MORALS.
  5. I've got a bad one! It happened last year! We live in a small town in North Dakota, so every year we have to drive 90 miles to do our BF shopping. We left bright and early in the morning. We took 2 cars this year, my husband drove my car and I borrowed my mom's car. We were on our way back home after a fun day of shopping and the roads were icy, I was behind my husband, and out of nowhere about 5 dogs come running across the highway! My husband hits the breaks, hits a patch of ice, and hits one of the dogs and kills it instantly. I watched as my husband got in an accident and killed a dog! (I love my hubby and I'm a huge dog lover!) He was thankfully okay. The dog died and my car was pretty damaged in the front. I can't remember how much it cost to fix it, but I think it was close to $2000. What a day to remember!
  6. A cheese ball is always good, I made one for Thanksgiving and it got ate up right away, here is what I used: 8 oz. of sour cream A red Pepper Green Onion Shredded Cheese Chopped Walnuts I added a little bit of the red pepper to the sour cream and a little green onion, I threw in a lot of shredded cheese. (I think this would be good with black olives too!) When I formed my ball I rolled it walnuts and stuck it in aluminum foil and put it in the fridge for a few hours. I think this year I'm going to do pinwheels!
  7. I left my house at 3:20 AM and drove 90 miles to the nearest town. The traffic in town was nuts! My hubby and brother went to Sears first and got: wine rack $40 farberware pots and pans w/free $25 frying pans: $49.99 Sony Home Theater System $150 At Scheels I bought (was in and out in 7 min.): Fox Hoodie: $20 Dart Supplies: $15 Dart Case: $35 Stood in line at Target, waiting for it to open for 45 min. It opened at 6AM and I bought: Family Guy season 3 set $15 Game of Life $20 The Holiday DVD $4 I was in and out of Target in 10 min. After that I walked the mall and went to Spencers and bought a gag gift and then to Old Navy. I bought a poof vest for $20. At Penny's I bought a nice fleece shirt for $12. We then mosied over to KMart. Here is what I bought at KMart: Dress shirt $6 Dress shirt $13 Cocoa set $8 Wrapping paper B1G1F $7 Wicker Hamper $15 Menards: Solar Lights $25 Walmart: Giant Pink Carebears $10 each CD Player for car $98.99 We then ate at Arby's and went home. The ride home was interesting. My husband was driving ahead of me and we live in North Dakota, so there are a lot of wide open highways. All of a sudden going down the highway, 3 dogs run out in front of my DH. He hit the brakes, but there was some ice and his back end went sideways, he let off the brakes, otherwise he would have went in the ditch and possibly had a rollover. He sadly killed a dog...but it did die instantly... I was in tears... It did a lot of damage to my monte carlo too. We now have to pay a $500 deductable so that really offsets all of the money we had saved earlier that day. I still had fun shopping, but the ride home was not so fun.

  9. Dear Santa, It's me! I haven't written to you in a long time!! I really need the Logitech io2 Digital Writing System this year! I'm not being selfishi, I swear! I would like to give this gift to my brother who is the master geeks of all geeks! He's grown up now, but I'm sure you remember him, he is 6'2", 120 lbs, red hair, glasses, and is a lefty. I told you he is a master geek! It's his first year in college and he is majoring in a computer networking program. He loves new gadgets and this would make a great gift for him! Please help an unselfish sister out! Thanks Santa! Kayla PS: I will leave you cookies and milk, I promise!
  10. Does anyone else have to drive far to get to the closest retail store?? I have to drive 80 miles. My town has a Pamida and that is it for shopping, besides locally owned stores that have expensive merchandise. The next town over has a mall, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Best Buy, and so on. Is it worth it to drive for you? It is for me!
  11. I live in North Dakota and I know that a lot of Canadians come down here for BF. The more the merrier!
  12. If I win the luxurious shirt, I will get hinky in public from drinking monkeyshines, who said hinky was bad?
  13. Jewelry is always good. She might like a gift certificate to her favorite store or maybe a certificate coupon book to the movies.
  14. I work in a small office and always give my co-workers a box of the Hershey's Pot-O-Gold chocolates.
