I don't remember them doing last year either.

I also fall into a few categories. I think how people act on BF is a good indication of how people act in everyday life situations. I would say the majority of us on this site enjoy the experience and are generally in a positive mood on BF -- we look forward to the deals every year, know what to expect and know (for the most part) what we want.

I hope you're right. I need to stock up. Also hope that the foam, bacterial soap is on, I believe last year it was 5/$10.

I have the DC 14 and Love it. It's 3 or 4 years old and haven't had any problems. I got mine at Linen's N' Things when they were running a double points, so I got $40 LNT certificate. At the time I could not use 20% store coupon, a previous post said they were able to.

What item are you hoping there's a good deal on? Is there something you've wanted and have been holding off getting because you hope to get it on BF? I'm hoping to get a GPS for DH and need to get a new DVD player. We've needed to replace our DVD player for several months now, but put it off for BF -- someone's got to have one for 30 bucks.

Never heard it. I played it for my kids, they loved it.

I scheduled November 2 off so I can start.

another reason for me to be MAD @ Walmart
sm1kla replied to friholic's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I've also moved the majority of my shopping to Target. My local Walmart has been awful -- It's like there isn't anyone watching the store. Checkout lines are terrible (longer that usual) and the deli...I should not have to wait 20-30 minutes for chipped ham!! I've been paying more at Giant Eagle because they are more customer focused, and visiting 2 different stores has become more efficient for me than going to 1 Walmart. -
Just saw this report on local news. http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/14373014/detail.html

I just recevied a $10 off $75 purchase coupon yesterday, it expires 10/27.

Darn, I need the GPS now.

This is a toughy for me every year too. As my kids get older it's worse...the gifts get smaller and more expensive. Add Santa to the equation and its even more difficult. I get carried away spending more than I planned (although I expect this every year and stash away more money). A friend of mine does a 3 gift limit to symbolize the 3 gifts for Christ.

Come on, where's the thrill in that? I like the instant rush of getting stuff at store level.

ebay?

Interesting.... I've never heard it.

My hipster with insulin pen, tester, MaxPlex bar (just in case), cell phone, driver's license and one credit card.

I was in junior high & crushed when I found out.

I think it all depends on who you are giving the gift to. I would be able to give a refurb to one of my sisters or my parents, would probably even put a corney personalized comment with it, like with "the money I saved on this gift I bought myself another pair of shoes, you can borrow them someday".

I'll do both, but I REFUSE to pay shipping!! I like the instant gratification of having the item that day.

Looking for an Inflatable Outdoor Halloween decoration...
sm1kla replied to lotion's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Home Depot had some, I can't remember if they were scary or not. Disney Store online often has cute inflatable yard decorations. -
Stash the goods, then search online for items that I didn't have luck finding in store.

We do a gift exchange no more than $5. I usually start looking at the end of summer in the Walmart toy clearance section. I got my ds5 a rescue hero for his exchange. Ds8 is starting to get to the weird age so I will probably pick up some Pro Team item closer to Christmas or on BF. They will take a class treat in too, Toys R Us will run a BOGO on the 4 pack of playdoh, I'll get a bunch and put a jar in a treat bag. I like the full size playdoh much better than the treatsize -they are too small to do anything with. In the past for PTO we have given student gifts like knapsacks, umbrellas, winter caps with school mascot. Last year we paid for each student to see a movie. Not sure what we are doing this year, we are just collecting fundraiser money this week.

I boycott shopping on Thanksgiving. Personally, I wouldn't want to work when the majority of folks are at home with their familes.

I have strip malls anchored with Walmarts 15-20 minutes east and west of where I live. Each strip mall has different stores so we will mix it up based on other stops. The closest mall is 35 minutes.
