  1. I'd try Lowes. A lot of times they have display models discounted. B/c they are the display models, the sales aren't advertised. We got an awesome deal of our fridge.
  2. I like Macy's much better. I grew up in Kaufmanns, my mom worked there for 13 years. I think Macy's clothing is much better - their store brands INC & Charter Club (I think that's it) are worlds above the dated Karen Scott stuff that Kaufmanns offered. INC is modern, has nice styles & prints. In the kids dept Kaufmanns offered Just Friends and again, I prefer Macy's Green Dog brand for the same reasons.
  3. I was a 14/16 when I was pregnant with my 2nd son. I got a lot of maternity clothes from Target and Sears. Old Navy had a lot of cute things, as with most ON things, cut too small.
  4. My mom absolutely loves QVC. She stashes all the junk in my old room. Boxes & boxes of overpriced crap that she just had to buy. She falls asleep watching it, she claims she likes to listen to them talk. If my dad knew how much money she squanders, he'd go nuts. One year for Christmas she bought me & my sisters purses-aghhh. Not to sound ungreatful, but they were horrid vinyl bags, we each got a special color (banana, merlot, black & white). Another year she bought us all tacky Bob Mackie designer shirts! We are all in our thirties, we don't do bingo or go to casinos. Where else would you wear something like that? She paid $60 for each shirt & who knows how much shipping, then return shipping (or they may be piled up in the room of QVC must haves). I know she means well & I don't want to hurt her feelings but I also don't want her wasting her money on things we will never use/wear. Somethings she buys, like Clarke shoes & Dooneys, I've seen at Macys a lot cheaper w/o shipping. I just don't get it.
  5. Just got back from Macy's- they had their clearance bras B1G1 Free! I needed bras!
  6. Just picked up Hollister stuff for my nieces. 4 pairs of corduroys & 3 shirts for $77 ... not bad. Probably would have spent more if the music wasn't so loud (33 really isn't that old) I couldn't bare to dig through all the stuff on sale with bad lighting & loud music.
  7. King size for under 100? Good luck. LNT.com may have something & they always have their 20% coupons.
  8. I LOVE my DC014!! I have one cat, long black fur!!! DH couldn't believe that I would spend $600 for a vaccuum. When he bought his snow blower, I told him it was only fair that I get my dyson. 3 years later, I think the snow blower has been used 5 times, my dyson is used daily! He uses it more than I do. We use it for everything no job too big or small.
  9. I use it all the time. I would suggest to never log in from an email. If you need to pay for something go directly to the site yourself. I've never had a problelm, but there are so many people pushing out fake emails.
  10. Do you have a local candy company? See if they have a special for fundraisers. We have Sarris and Gene & Boots here, they do fundraising kits. We pay 0.50/bar and sell them for $1.
  11. My mom is addicted to Pogo. Her "I can come over to watch the boys for you" is code for "I want to play pogo"
  12. Depends on what you consider a good deal. I'd try ebay first.
  13. Fisher Price has a Rock, Roll and Ride bike! My kids have gotten so much use out of this. There are 3 different positions - stationary rocker, trike with push bar & trike by itself. It's reasonably price too, I think I paid $30 for it. http://www.fisher-price.com/us/products/product.asp?id=11010
  14. Diapers, Diapers, Diapers. I used to think adorable little baby outfits were the best baby gift. After having 2 of my own, I give diapers with Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment (THE best diaper ointment) and coupons for more diapers.
  15. You may also look into her plan to see if the provider participates with a mail order company. I buy 90 days for the same co-pay that I would buy 30 days from a pharmacy. It is a HUGE savings.
  16. I grew up in Kaufmanns, my mom worked there for 13 years. I like Macy's clothing much better than Kaufmanns- I don't mind paying a little more b/c I think their store brands INC & Charter Club (I think that's it) are worlds above the dated Karen Scott stuff that Kaufmanns offered. INC is modern, has nice styles & prints. Kaufmanns offered Just Friends in the little kids dept and again, I prefer Macy's Green Dog brand for the same reasons.
  17. So glad my boys are little and will not want to shop at either store anytime soon. My sis shops @ both for my nieces. YIKES.
  18. Wonder if it has occurred to Sr. Mgmt that that's why nobody shops at Kmart. I was in Walmart today they had not even a 1/4 of an aisle of Christmas decorations left (a lot of toys). Heck they are ready for Valentines Day.
  19. sorry, hijacking, but I have to say I will never go back to Walmart of pictures. It's always a hassle when they take walk-ins before appointments. And, they really aren't cheap, yeah they may advertise the 6.95 but when it comes to buying individual sheets YIKES! After my nightmare at Walmart, I went back to Picture People, yes they are expensive, but at least I'm expecting to spend a lot. This year I went to Sears (first time in about 6 years). I wanted the 10x30 portrait- they were awesome and now give pictures same day just like Picture People.
  20. My favorite gift I bought myself was 10x30 sepia-toned portrait of my sons from Sears. They are standing back-to-back its awesome. My DH & boys got me in a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer in pistachio, it matches my kitchen perfectly!
  21. My KMart was advertising 60% on roadside signs.
  22. I like to leave my decorations up until Orthodox Christmas, Jan 7. I keep a few items out all year. Willow Tree Nativity Scene & a Cookies for Santa plate in the dining room and a Merry Christmas candle holder in the family room.
