  1. I've heard that Christmas is salvaged most places, which doesn't necessarily mean anything, but just remember that anything you find that comes "up item not found" may require a bit of cajoling to get them to sell it to you. Some stores do without any hesitation. Others act as if you've just found a ticking time bomb and do whatever they can to get the item out of your hands and into the salvage bin.
  2. Don't be embarrassed. I still have tape stockpiled from a few Christmas' ago. My kids go through it all the time and although I try to teach them about "not wasting" stuff, it's nice not to have to feel like it's that big of a deal with they "desperately NEED it!" for their projects and go through an entire roll in one sitting. If you can use it and it's a good price, I don't think anyone would blame you!! I know I wouldn't, especially given the fact that Target has gotten much leaner in what it orders and stocks it shelves with these days. The really cheap stuff is harder to find during big clearance sales. Get the stuff while you can cause one of these years Target might decide it's tired of giving Scotch tape away, and we will all be gasping at the thought of paying $1.99 for a roll of tape. LOL
  3. I'd keep an eye out for the holiday barbie in the toy aisle in the coming weeks. In recent years, barbies have mostly been excluded from the general holiday markdowns. Instead, they've been orange stickered and put in with the toys. It may have just been kind of a lucky fluke that someone found one for 90% off. I don't know...maybe they changed back to including Barbies in with the holiday clearance schedule, but for the past 2-3 years, they've stopped doing that with holiday themed barbies and put them in with normal markdowns. You may still have a chance to find one at 75% off, which is still pretty good.
  4. I went to Mission Target this morning too and didn't find the oreos (rats... I was hoping to find at least 1-2 of those-- haven't had any in awhile and they sounded good.) I did find TONS of Ritz crackers in the regular aisle for 29 cents. I bought a few boxes to satisfy snack duty for each kiddo at school and just a couple for home. The date on the box was February and I've learned from past experience that buying up a ton doesn't do me any good when my kids announce that they are sick and tired of eating (fill in the blank... Goldfish, fruit snacks, Ritz, etc....) So, there were quite a few Ritz left on the shelf when I left. Also saw a whole bunch of Ghiradelli (sp) chocolates in the regular aisle. I didn't take anything other than the carmel, mixed and mint flavors so there were a ton of raspberry/chocolate and peanut butter/ chocolate left. There were also some bags of mixed left. (I didn't clear all those out.) I love, love the mint and the carmel though, so anytime I found those, I grabbed them. (Most candy was only 75% off everywhere that I found any though.) Major score on books at State Line. LOTS of books scattered everywhere. Nice hardbacks too-- ranging in the $15-$16 range. Marley the dog Christmas, Curious George... etc. Look in the regular book aisles. Also, found lots of tape in the regular aisle at this store. Also, lots of Hello Kitty lip gloss packs for 39 cents. That was all I had time for. At all but one store I didn't even go down the Christmas aisle. Anymore, I swear its just the thrill of finding stuff that is hidden in plain site. I love the hunt. Sadly, stuff has gotten harder to find though.
  5. Stopped in CVS after the gym this morning and wow, got some nice deals! Nothing signed at any of them but all scanning 75% off at 3 stores. The snowy roads were yucky and there wasn't anyone shopping with me in the aisles at any of the stores. Didn't pay much attention to Christmas decorations as I need nothing in that department, but got some candy and also some toys including Pet Shop sets, Bendaroos, Discovery World electronic toys and Christmas Kleenex boxes. 3 stores were 75% off... ONE wasn't-- RATS.
  6. Oh Ward Pkway is the worst for coupons. The clerks in there are total haters in my opinion. Most of them are just bitter. It may have gotten a little better recently. I've seen new and familiar management faces from other stores now working in that store. So, hopefully that particular store will become a more pleasant place to shop. That is the store where I always see stockers shop as they are working during holiday clearance... I know... that's a whole other conversation, but just sayin... Of all the gobs of Targets I shop in this city, they are all bend over backward friendly (most of the time). This one is usually not. I also had awesome luck at CVS this morning too (guess I'll post over there though), which is nice considering that I was trapped in the great white tundra of Minnesota for the past week. Nice for a couple days, but 22 degrees below zero (actual temp) is just a bit too much.
  7. You could try, but most of their ads are pretty clear that they won't adjust on prior purchases. That's pretty standard when stores run a sale like that.
  8. If you have kids who like Webkinz, make sure to check out the Signature Webkinz, which were marked down to 1/2 price BEFORE Christmas. These are the expensive pets that run upwards of $30 at most stores. Dillards had one of the lowest regular prices on them of any store... $24.99. THEN, they marked them down (with a pink sticker) to $12.99 right before Christmas (at least the KC stores did anyway). Many stores sold out of them, but if you are lucky to find a store with some left, you could really get them cheap depending on the percentage off sale that Dillards has on New Years Day!
  9. THAT would be the first I've ever heard of Target pricing adjusting clearance items. Good luck though! :) I have a feeling you talked to a manager who either 1) didn't fully understand your question or 2) is just so new that he isn't aware of the price adjusting poicy.
  10. I'm looking for the same thing... a case for a DS Lite. I found this on Amazon and it has gotten really good reviews. It is only $9.96 too. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/511EdCqpyML._SL500_AA280_.jpg I just wish I knew if there was an actual store that carried them. I haven't ventured out into the after Christmas mayhem yet to look. LOL!
  11. It's not a toy but I thought it was a really good deal. $19.99 down from $79.99. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51fibZ2ObrL._SL500_AA240_.jpg
  12. Ya, I think the deal would be a bit too good if it included a regular Wii controller. They probably expect that you already have a controller. I think you are right... in this package, they consider the mat to be the 'controller'. Thanks.
  13. Oh, are you saying that they mean the "mat" is the controller. Cause the girl in the picture on the box appears to be holding the normal hand held Wii controllers too.
  14. Does anyone have this? I found one at Target for 1/2 price and it says it comes with a controller. Is that a basic ole Wii controller that can be used with other Wii games? We have 2 but I'd like a 3rd one. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51motkHweXL._SL500_AA280_.jpg So, if it's this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31Mxv09s5bL._SL500_AA280_.jpg ...then that's a pretty good deal cause the whole thing was 1/2 price... $35 I think? It's gotten pretty good reviews on Amazon and given that controllers alone are $40, it seems like a good deal, but then maybe I have it all wrong and am confused about exactly what is in this box. So, if anyone has it and can tell me before I open it, I would really appreciate it!!
  15. I'm wondering if anyone has the Wii Dance Dance Revolution... not the Disney one, but this one: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51motkHweXL._SL500_AA280_.jpg It says it comes with a controller. Is that a basic ole Wii controller that can be used with other Wii games? We have 2 but I'd like a 3rd one. 16. So my kids have been talking about these crazy zhu zhu pets. I had never actually seen one, but heard that people were all but selling their first born children to get one. I just told my girls not to count on everything they ask for cause I am totally not a nutso momma who waits in line for a toy and certainly not an oversized cat toy! I had to return some stuff today at Target (haven't been in a really long time). Anyway, I overheard the CS person telling grandma in front of me that they just got 'some' in and they are back in the toy aisle on an end cap. Curiosity got the best of me (I kinda wondered if "some" meant zhu zhus), so I wandered back and sure enough, there was a shelf of gerbils or mice or whatever they actually are. How convenient that they had 3 colors available. I have 3 kids. What a great mom I get to be this Christmas and I didn't even have to stand in line! A group of other moms as puzzled as myself kind of stood there shaking their heads like, "all this commotion for THIS?" LOL... of course we all walked away with some! Anyway, this was at Blue Valley ST. They are gone though. The lady in line behind me at checkout told me there weren't anymore. I guess if ya just wait long enough, the hot toys COME to you!! NOTHIN' much else there that was too exciting at this store.
  17. I bought an outside timer last week and all that stuff was orange stickered at 30% off... not a good sign!
  18. I happened to be at that one yesterday too... (off Chipman Road???) They took them without any problem... even gave me the free (small jar) red holiday candle that they are giving away with $30 in purchases of Yankee products. The guys helping me check out weren't entirely sure how to put it through, so they pulled out an e-mail that must have been sent to the management about exactly how to put the Yankee store coupons through. They read through that and put it through. I HAVE been told at ONE store (only one) that I had to purchase the REGULAR priced candles-- not the promo scents, but the other 3 stores had absolutely no problems with it. PLUS, I wonder if it was just that one person at the OP store who had a problem with it. You know some people just like to make up the rules about coupons themselves. This was several weeks ago too, so maybe those e-mail instructions is something that just went out to the stores to clarify it for everyone. These guys yesterday (one was actually a manager) had no problems with it at all. I'm not exactly sure what they did though cause I ended up paying only $27.xx for 4 large lidded candles + the free small candle valued at $9.99. That's like $6.xx per candle for the $25 candles. I think they did something wrong, but I don't know what. Anyway, I'm just glad that I happen to really like the purple scent (Autumn Harvest). I'm sort of picky about my scents and I won't buy anything that smells bad to me... no matter how cheap it is!
  19. Oh my goodness... you're back! If I remember right from years ago, you started this thread, right??? Or am I dreaming???
  20. If you have a Bed, Bath and Beyond near you, I have had great luck using the Yankee Candle coupons at their stores... I've bought the large size jar candles for about $9.xx each. They have holiday scents of the month for 25% off and I've used the buy 2 get 2 coupons that Yankee sent out without any problems. I love the purple scent... Autumn Harvest.
  21. Walmart had the DS Lites in their black friday ad for $98. I was fortunate enough to get my Target to price match that. I really only wanted the older version so that my daughter could play some older Game Boy Advance games, which apparently you can't do any longer on the newer DSi version. I haven't seen the DS Lites anywhere for less than $129 and haven't seen any specials on them either, which I find weird because they are an older version. Soooo, maybe as Christmas nears, stores will throw out some special prices on the old model. I dunno. Maybe they feel like they only want to push the new DSi though and won't do anything cheaper on the DS Lites. I have an 8 year old and this is our first year into the 'gaming' stuff, so I'm no expert. Good luck though!
  22. American Girl... how 'bout you don't participate in Cyber Monday if you are obviously not set up to handle the traffic?!! Been trying since 6 this morning. I can't get into anything on the "shop" page. R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
  23. My Target price adjusted all the stuff that I bought on Wednesday without any problems at all. And, after a quick spin around the store, I'm glad I got it all cause everything I picked up on Wednesday was already gone by 8 a.m. AND, much to my surprise, they even let me price match the Walmart DS Lite for $98 on the blue color, which wasn't even in the Walmart ad description. Walmart's ad only allowed the $98 price on 4 colors and the blue wasn't included. The guy in Target's customer service never blinked... just gave me my $30 credit. Also collected a $10 giftcard cause I spent over $100. I was in and out in 10 minutes LITERALLY. I was so happy.
  24. Has anyone else heard this? I just went this morning to pick up a few things to have price adjusted for the 2-day sale. I always thought as long as you made it back into the store at some point during the time the items are marked down for the 2 day sale, you could have the price adjusted... isn't that right or is this something that has changed too!? I am not a wake-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-to-stand-in-line kind of person, so I guess if they won't price adjust for me, then I'll have to return it all!
