  1. Ya, you know I have really struggled to figure out the best battery to use for those Wii remotes. After talking to 2 different Target electronics guys who said they've both tried rechargeables (specifically for the Wii), they both recommended a very high grade battery and told me that those lithium blues can last up to 7 months (depending on use). Neither of them had much good to say about the rechargables. So, I'm going to give the lithiums a try. The rechargeable Wii battery that I bought only took one charge and then it wouldn't charge anymore. I probably got a dud, but I figured the lithiums are the same cost as the Wii rechargeable (about $10) and hopefully they will last longer. They are also incredibly light weight. I guess we'll see!! I haven't tried just the regular rechargeable AAs though. Maybe they are more reliable than the Wii battery is. There are some good coupons out for the Energizer Lithium batteries coupled with the Target coupon. I got $4 off a pack of 4 that costs just under $10 regularly. Plus, there are specially marked packs that have a code for a free $10 iTunes card when you buy 3 packs. So each pack was $6 and I can get a $10 iTunes card too.
  2. I was buying some Energizer Lithium Blue batteries today for our Wii controllers and found a 48 pack of Everready Gold AAs. They had a shelf sign on them with special sale price of $6-- regular $14.99. I thought that was a pretty good price for 48 batteries. So, I go to pay and used 2 of the Target coupons for $1 off Energizer multipacks (since I was buying 2 packs of the expensive Lithium Blue batteries). Well, after I paid, I noticed that one of the Energizer Target coupons attached to the 48 pack of Everreadys! So, if you find some of those 48 packs of Everready AAs on sale for $6, you MAY (depends on how coupon friendly your Target store is) be able to use the Target coupon for another $1 off. I wish I had known. I would have added another Target coupon to my stack. My receipt showed the 48 pack with a price of $5 after the Target coupon attached. The date on the batteries is March 2016 (not that it matters).
  3. YES. I got a bunch of frozen minute maid orange juices for 1/2 price, but I had to hunt to find the ones that don't expire until June 2011. Some of them expired in October... They were the family size frozen concentrate for $1.07... 64 ounces??? if I remember right.
  4. I have also gotten two really good coupons back to back. I got a $5 off $15, which I used to buy 2 large bags of Lays chips (BOGO free this week) and 2 bags of beef jerky (also BOGO free this week) for a total of $5.xx. The register printed me off another $5 off $15 when I paid for that transaction. So I need to go back in and use that on....hmmmm--- probably more beef jerky (good for a quick snack after my workouts!!!) since there really isn't anything else I need.
  5. I tried to get one of the $1 calculators on Sunday one hour after they opened. They were all gone. The customer service guy said that he didn't know if they'd get anymore back in or not. Fortunately the store is really close to our house, so I've just been checking each day on my way to and from dropping my kids at school. They've taken the sign down. Appears no more coming?? Pretty lame if you ask me. I get the whole gimmick to get people in the store, but come on. If you're going to put something on the front page of your ad, don't you think you should equip the stores with at least hundreds of these things instead of maybe just a few. To be sold out within an hour of opening tells me that there weren't that many to begin with. The limit was 2 per customer, so I know that someone didn't just come in and take them all. Made me angry enough to ditch the idea of buying anything else that I possibly would have. If they weren't going to supply their stores with very many, they should have just kept it as an unadvertised special for those who were already shopping in the store to enjoy. It's sad cause their customer service people have to take the brunt of the upset customers. They really don't have any say in how many calculators Office Depot sends them, but they are the ones who get to hear from the customers about it. Why would OD to that to their employees? This is the second time that I've gone in to OD for something that was advertised on the front page of their flyer only to have it gone and no ideas about when more will come in from anyone in the store. L-A-M-E.... Never had a problem with Staples having enough quantity of their advertised items.
  6. I agree. The only time I've ever participated was last year when I needed a new Mac and it happened to be toward the end of the summer. So, I just waited a few weeks and saved another 9 1/2 percent in taxes to get something that I was going to get anyway. The line sucked a bit, and if I had to wait even one more minute past the 45 minutes I had to wait--- I would have said no way. It was the only time I've ever even considered it to be worth the hassle of a crowd. There are so many other better times of the year to stock up on school stuff like clothes, shoes, and the smaller dollar items.
  7. Kinda of a cool deal if you still have the k-mart ad from Sunday... I went in today and picked up some cute sparkle tennis shoes (an xhileration brand) at Target. On page 8 of the k-mart ad, they have the very same tennis shoes pictured only they call them Expressions. (they are the second pair pictured.) http://s.shld.net/is/image/Sears/035B022459450001?hei=145&wid=145&op_sharpen=1&qlt=75 Anyway, I don't shop k-mart (and by Thursday I figured that most of the sizes would be picked over anyway), so I thought I'd see if Target would price match. They have those shoes for $19.99. K-mart has them for $9.99. Now, I have no idea if they are the "exact" same shoe, but they sure look like it. I was kind of prepared to be declined because they are NOT the exact same brand. Customer service never blinked about it. So, I was able to get the Target shoes for 1/2 price. I think they are really cute and got 2 pair for my daughters. (They light up too.) I supposed this would be a YMMV kinda thing if you come across a picky customer service rep. But I thought I'd at least try. Also, in the same transaction I price matched the crayola paint set that k-mart has for a buck. They are $2 at Target and something I needed for the kids' school supplies.
  8. That's how it alllll balances out with those of us who love to find bargains/use coupons, etc..... That lady is among those who keep the balance on the retail scale!! :))) (...and I'm sure the type of shopper that the stores would rather see more of!)
  9. THANKS. That's good to know. I'm not a real big Staples shopper, but I know they always have really great back to school deals. :)
  10. Ya, and it also says that the $30 purchase can't include any "extreme" items. So, does that mean that only those few things on the front that say 'extreme' or does it mean the whole front page of the ad? My gosh, that paper deal is amazing. I don't know how many hoops you have to jump through to get the rebate, but a penny for a ream of 500 sheets of paper!! OMG!!
  11. They were putting Back to School stuff in the aisles today!! Hafta admit I got a little smile on my face!! Of my three darlings who are home with me all day, everyday-- someone is always getting on someone's nerves, which, in turn gets on my nerves!! LOL. I'm starting to really like fall. Looked like they were messing around with the garden/outdoor stuff... I think it was half off. I went through rather quickly though.
  12. I see. I forget that it is a Visa and can be used everywhere. I only use my RedCard at Target, and forget that lots of people probably use it for many other places too.
  13. Well, Redcard holders will eventually stop getting the certificates when the 5% goes into effect, but yes... I still had one left to use when the 5% marketing test went into effect, and they let me use it. The 5% is programed into the register, so cashiers don't have to scan anything for that. If you are traveling from out of town and you go to a store in KC with a rewards certificate, you can get 15% off. (Unless they've changed something. I haven't used a 10% certificate in awhile.) Also, I'm not sure that they've discontinued the pharmacy 10% certificate that I believe they give out after so many prescriptions. If that is still going on in KC, then there probably are people who still get those certificates if they fill prescriptions at Target. I don't fill our prescriptions there, so it doesn't apply to me.
  14. Sad that you may not get all the 10% coups that you earned. However, by just spending $3,000 per month, you'd save $150 with the 5% (probably more considering you said you spend up to $5,000) over the course of the month. To save that with the 10% off pass, you'd have to spend $1500 in one day. Probably not hard for you to do if you have a business, and have a long list of everything you need to buy for when you have your pass, but possibly quite less of a hassle just getting the 5% discount each day that you shop and use your red card. I personally really like that I don't have to wait for ONE day to (1) decide what exactly I need to buy at Target on that one day and (2) feel like I need to skip all around town taking advantage of it (which I know I DON'T have to do, but kinda felt like I should when I had my pass!)
  15. I heard at ST today that the 5% discount for RedCard users, test marketed in the Kansas City area for several months now, will be offered nationwide this fall. Anyone else hear that?

  17. Took my switched out iPod docking table radio back this morning and had a wonderfully weird experience. The Target I bought it at isn't one that I go to very often... not very close by my house. So, I took it back to the Super Target purely out of convenience. Explained that I had just bought it yesterday and it's not what is pictured on the box. The CSR looked it over; called the GSTL over, who also looked it over; he called the LOD and they took it back without any problem... didn't make me feel like a criminal or anything. They were very nice. Funny part is that when she returned it, it spit out a RAIN CHECK receipt guarenteeing me that same price if I should happened to find it. The GSTL even made mention of that to me and I actually had to make sure I heard him right so repeated everything to clarify and he said yep, if you find it, we will sell it to you for that price. This is a $130 item that was on clearance for $32.xx. Well, as amazed as I was, I figured that since it was a clearance item, it would be mostly be very hard to find one. But, then I thought that what if this Target DIDN'T clearance it, which can sometimes happen. So, just for giggles I went over to electronics to look and sure enough there they were FULL PRICE on the shelf for $129.99. I took it up to the gal that had just helped me and got it for the clearance price. I'm on a different computer and can't figure out the photo feature, but here is the link to it on Target.com http://www.target.com/Philips-iPod-Docking-Table-Radio/dp/B0013K4OGM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&qid=1272996969&frombrowse=0&fromGsearch=true&node=1038576%7C1287991011&keywords=philips%20ipod&searchSize=30&id=Philips%20iPod%20Docking%20Table%20Radio&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel%2Csubjectbin%2Ctarget_com_age%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchRank=target104545&sr=1-1&searchPage=1 Philips iPod Docking Table Radio - DCM230/37
  18. Was out at the Mission Target yesterday afternoon. There were LOTS of neat under the cabinet T.V.s/ CD players, regular under the counter CD/Radio players, lots of digital picture frames, some 7" T.V.s--- all 75% off. However, they are all in their regular aisle, not on an endcap. As a matter of fact, there was a lot of electronics clearance at this particular store that was down the regular aisles. I think those under the counter goodies were all priced at about $37.xx. As hard as I racked my brain, I didn't have a use for any of them. Lots of potentially good mother's or father's day gifts though! Ward Pkwy was marking electronics at 2. I thought I got a neat Phillips ipod player thing. Got it home last night and thought I better check it since it appeared to be retaped. Ya, some other piece of junk inside. UGH. That's the first time that's happened to me. I was planning to give it as a gift to my daughter later. Glad I checked. Now, I have to take it back and feel totally crappy that someone will probably think it was me that switched it. Although it was so cheap that hopefully they won't give me a bad time. Other than finding my Flip accessories for 75% off and a couple nice noise cancelling headphones (marked down to $24.99 from $99) I didn't see too much that I needed. The only other thing I hoped to find was some of my printer ink (Epson Guitars), which appears to be on the way out at Target since it was clearanced at about every store. I picked some up for 1/2 price, but was hoping to find some more.
  19. The Stanley Target has a large sized Buzz Lightyear for $6.24 (75% off) and some glove things for 75% off. Other things appeared to be only 50% off. They had quite a few of the gloves and maybe a half dozen of the Buzz Lightyears. This was at about 1 or 2ish today. I didn't scan any of the Toy Story stuff, so I don't know what else might have been marked incorrectly. I did also notice several Princess and the Frog dolls for $6.xx as well. If anyone needs Flip accessories, I saw them 75% off at one store today... HDMI cable connectors, rechargeable battery, tripod, etc. They weren't with the regular marked down stuff though. HTH!
  20. I shoulda done that. What's inside exactly? Stickers and stuff, I suppose, eh?
  21. oops... just took my bunnies outta the sack. They are 6 count bunnies, not 10. They were 87 cents each though, and I got 9 packs not expiring until Feb. 2011. My sweet tooth can live on now! :)
  22. Awesome for you. I didn't try, but probably should have. There were many, many boxes clearly sitting in with the Easter stuff. I remember they had those same type boxes at Valentines Day too, but they didn't ring right either.
  23. Did you scan the Pet Shop Fun Box? That rang up at full price for me. Although it was in with all the Easter stuff at both stores.
  24. Well I ventured out this morning in search of the one and only Easter thing I wanted... my Hershey's Chocolate Bunnies in a 10 pack. I didn't even take a cart (to avoid temptation)! The first store I went to didn't really have all that much (Mission Greatland). I didn't find my stashed bunnies and was just gonna go home... then decided to stop at Ward Pkwy on my way home. Not only did I find more Hershey's bunnies than I needed (actually left several on the shelf), I found these adoreable Hide 'em and Find 'em Eggs that I actually tried to find LAST Easter, but couldn't. I found 11 of them. They were 99cents each, but they are very cute. You press a button and the eggs say cute things like "U WHO... over HERE!" I found one 4-pack (regular priced $14.99) and 7 individual packs (regular price $3.99) Anyway, here is a picture of them: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41LUyKMJo3L._SL500_AA300_.jpg Ward Pkwy had a lot of candy left and had more in general than Mission. BTW, I saw lots of the little bubble buckets (pictured above in previous post) in with the regular summer aisle bubbles. So, look there if you need some. I didn't need any, but did see them!)
  25. How nice of you to take photos like that! :) I picked up a lot of those bubble sets one year and they make great little birthday goodie bag items.
