looking for nikon slr cameras
civicracinggirl7 replied to lex's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
i wouldn't count on finding one whichever is the smaller one that just came out, i believe the d50, it retails for around $899 i believe. from there, i'd say to just find a reseller and get a coupon code for the reseller. -
nope. i just set my max bid and leave it at that... if i'm around to watch the end of the auction, then i may bid a little higher towards the end. i tend to always put a price on everything and not go higher than that though unless it's something really rare, or that i really need, etc.

FX Lightsabers $97.77 + shipping
civicracinggirl7 replied to Pliablemoose's topic in Online Hot Deals
^^ Basically that. I believe that when it's turned on the light comes up from the bottom, which I'm told is more like in the movie (I haven't watched the movies since I was too little to really remember them). If you do a search for them online, you can find a video of a couple of people using them in a replica battle lol. My bf is a huge SW buff, and when I showed him them he decided he had to have one. -
FX Lightsabers $97.77 + shipping
civicracinggirl7 replied to Pliablemoose's topic in Online Hot Deals
I think Target has them for $99.99 or so, and with a 10% off that'd bring it to $90. I'll probably be buying my boyfriend one of these for xmas. -
I bought a bag of candy from the 75% off the other day and it rang up at 0.52 LOL (3 Musketeers, nothing Halloween about it, has the star wars wrappers)

Agreed. Some of the toys were what we have been looking at for my youngest niece (ie, Tumble Time Tigger, A-Z Learning Zoo, etc.). However, even after the coupons included, the prices work out to be what WM has them at everyday.

LEAP PAD books.....clearance at TARGET
civicracinggirl7 replied to susiejwp's topic in Offline Hot Deals
^ Walmart has some online for $5, and it looks like they're in-store as well according to vonnyb's post. -
I'd say skip it. If you do want some kind of gaming system, go with the either the handheld Leap- or the Vsmile handheld. Or you can go with the InteracTV, or Vsmile. If you want an actual gaming system, go for the GameCube. It's inexpensive as far as consoles go, has a lot of choices for younger audiences, and withstands damage lol (G4/TechTV tested the PS2, Xbox, and GC for durability... put them through a ton of tests in which they were abused, and the GC held up to almost all of the tests... it still worked in the end as well lol). The GBA SP is a good choice for younger, and older kids, but I think 5 may be too young. The little boy I babysit for (will be 7 in December) just got his sister's old SP (she bought one of the new brighter screen ones). I looked it over not long after, and the screen was all scratched up and I could actually pull part of the screen off. Your son may treat his stuff different, but most boys tend to be rougher on toys/electronics/etc. Either way, a lot of titles that kids would like based on the game box covers require reading.

Hardest person to shop for? Easiest person to shop for?
civicracinggirl7 replied to alimfp's topic in 2005
my nieces are the easiest, my boyfriend is IMPOSSIBLE... -
1. Competitors could see it and adjust their BF pricing accordingly. 2. They could lose out on their weekly sales before BF.

np :) I imagine each doll would still be in it's original packaging, so you can split them up into three gifts (either for one kid = more to unwrap lol, or for more than one). If I hadn't gotten two of the dolls from the TRU promo, I'd have picked this one up.

I've been on ebay for a while now, and have had great experiences both buying and selling. I have only had one negative buying experience... for a GameCube... turns out the seller only sent me a link to one of those "complete the offer for a free _____" things, which is not what I paid for. Needless to say, he/she took the money and ran, as I never got a cent of it back. Went through eBay/PayPal's dispute, and it did nothing. I've only had one negative experience with a buyer as well, who claimed never to have received the item that I know was shipped out. Just exercise caution, try to stay in contact with the buyer/seller if you think something is fishy, etc.

Any one have a clue whats it like to work on Black friday
civicracinggirl7 replied to nathanr1229's topic in 2005
When I first started working retail, I worked on BF at Hot Topic. It was my second day of work, so I had to be a greeter and hand out the discount cards. The next bf, I was working at Vitamin World in a popular outlet mall. Again, I was new to working there and really knew very little about the products, but I don't remember it being too bad. I did have to get a ride in to work that day though, and it was a good thing since I would have spent hours driving around for a parking spot as it was. -
LEAP PAD books.....clearance at TARGET
civicracinggirl7 replied to susiejwp's topic in Offline Hot Deals
There were some on clearance at our Kmart, but they were still at $10.00. There were a lot, so maybe they won't sell and they'll get more markdowns taken on them. -
My sister uses them at least once a year to get my niece's pictures done. She always gets the free sitting coupon in the mail, so she uses that. The pictures are pricey, but they usually do come out good. We've had times when all of the pictures have been horrible, and the photographer has been horrible. Nothing worse than a screaming 2-y/o and a horrible photographer. There have been more good instances than bad, but still something to keep in mind.

Be careful of TRU online and Big Book Different
civicracinggirl7 replied to mtjoycol's topic in 2005
Last time I was at TRU, I noticed that the pricing on a couple of things were lower in the store (just regular product pricing) than they were online. I noticed this on a couple of things that I had bought through online promotions. Wasn't really a big deal though to me. I got free shipping on the items, a deal, and didn't have to waste gas and time driving to the store. -
WalMart has a 3-pack of the Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus dolls for $34.88! The 3-pack includes: Each of the dolls usually sell for ~ $19.99. I just picked up Annika and Rayla for my niece with the TRU B1G1 promo, but you get all three dolls from this one. Also, there is 97 cent shipping This isn't a BF-specific thread, but I figured some of you might be interested in it.

You can try checking for a refurbished one, or use a coupon code to bring the price down. That's probably the best "deal" you can find.
-
Target is also offering a $5 GC with purchase of: Episode I, Episode II, Battlefront II, or the Trilogy DVD Set.

I picked up one of the WM floor-to-ceiling ones sometime last year or so for ~ $40.00. I have a lot of cats, but even then it lasted a while before I deemed it "completely destroyed" and threw it out. Since I have a lot of cats, it's not worth it for me to buy one of the expensive cat trees, as it won't last very long anyway. The cats loved the WM one, and it was cheap too

Thanks :)

I'm not sure what all is included in the warranty, but if you're purchasing one of the slim PS2s, I'd suggest getting a warranty if available. I've had no problems with my PS2 in the 4+ years that I've owned it (original design), but there are a few known problems with the slim design.
-
They're regularly priced at $149. Don't expect a price drop for the holidays. Price will probably go down to $99 after the PS3 is released, but that's not expected until next year. Your best bet would be a bundle pack, or purchasing it with a store discount coupon.

We usually open one gift on Christmas Eve, unless we just don't feel like it. On year, before there were little ones around, we opened everything on Christmas Eve.
