  1. For a teen, electronics (dvds, cds, video games, computer, etc), clothes, gift cards, etc.
  2. occasionally i'll pick up items because of the price, but if i have to wait in line at the check-out, i usually put them aside since i'm given time to think about it then.
  3. ^ They're probably just trying to get rid of them. Most people buy on DVD now, and there is a 4-movie Barbie DVD set either out or coming out that includes all of the titles available (had Swan Lake, Rapunzel and another one at WM yesterday)
  4. my niece (will be 3 a week after xmas lol) loves the little people and pop-onz stuff, anything spongebob or dora/diego. i picked up the dora candy land game using the BOGO offer online for her (and the dora chutes and ladders for my older niece - she'll be 5 next month). she also loves the elmo dolls, but they get annoying REAL fast lol.
  5. I think the 700 doesn't come out until sometime next year (at least with Verizon). My bf upgraded his 600 to the 650 sometime this past year, and then heard word of the 700. He said by the time it comes out it'll be time to upgrade anyway. Anyway, right now all I really want to see are some great deals on video games. The two kids I babysit for have a GameCube and both have GBA SPs. Buying toys for them is pretty hard to do. The 9-y/o girl likes Bratz, but doesn't really play with them so there's not much of a point in buying the dolls. The little boy is going to be 7 come Christmas, and will play with a toy for about a day to a week, then forget all about it.
  6. i like snow on christmas day, but that's about it. any other time i wish it wouldn't snow. although, we took a trip to vegas and california last year in mid-december. we headed to a mall in california one of the days, and it was weird for me to hear christmas music when it was pretty much gorgeous outside (ie, frosty the snowman)
  7. ^ Pretty much what she said. I rarely give them, but I have no problem receiving them (as long as it's for a store where I'll actually be able to use it). Better to receive money/check/gc than something you either won't like or won't have a use for, etc.
  8. i don't recall ever having done it either... but like most of the responses in this thread: if it's something another person you know would actually enjoy/use, then i don't see why not. if not, then just return it to the store it was purchased from.
  9. going to walmart on any regular day is already hassle enough. we usually wait and go around 10pm or later at the 24-hour wal-marts... i couldn't imagine being there on black friday... wm would really need to get their act together for it. i couldn't even buy a dvd last week there because the guy working couldn't be bothered to come around and open the case.
  10. I have the original Scene It!, and as boudme said, it's a board game with a DVD that contains the majority of the trivia. (Things such as watching a video clip and remembering something from it, "invisibles" where the people are cut out and you have to guess what it is, mosaic images that slowly piece together and you need to guess, etc. I'm sure this is similar in the Disney version). There is also a deck of cards with trivia. You can play the game entirely (with the board), or you can just play a quick round with the DVD or trivia cards. There have also been expansion packs released for it over the past year or two, as boudme mentionted. BTW: My boyfriend bought the game for us at CompUSA about two years ago now, so you should be able to find it there if all else fails.
  11. ^ my order was shipped out yesterday :) (more xmas presents)
  12. I have a 2-y/o (3 in Jan.) niece who would be happy with pretty much anything she gets (including the wrapping paper and empty boxes). She does enjoy the singing/dancing Elmo dolls (has Hokey-Pokey, E-L-M-O, one that says "Elmo loves you", and possibly another one right now), so she goes really nuts when the Elmo "Shout" commercials come on lately. Same with the "Tumble-Time" Tigger doll. I also have a 4-y/o niece (5 in Nov.) who is usually happy with anything she gets also. She likes Barbie, and I was told she liked the Bratz commercial (but I don't think that's a suitable toy for a 4-5 y/o, due to the shoes and how hard the clothing can tend to be to get on the doll). I babysit for a 9-y/o girl and a 6 (7 in Dec.)- y/o boy. The girl is into most things Bratz. She has pretty much all of the bedroom accessories and electronics on the market for them, a handful or two of dolls, some play accessories. From what I see, she doesn't really play with the dolls or accessories much, but she loves all of the bedroom accessories & electronics. She's also into Tamagochis, video games (has a GameCube and GBA SP), etc. The boy tends to play with toys once or twice, and forget about them. It doesn't seem like there is any one "got-to-have-it" toy for this year. Of course, we still have time. For younger kids, anything will usually do. For tweens/teens, I think a lot of them will be wanting a Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, Apple iPod, X-Box 360 also if it's supposed to be out for the holidays -- haven't paid much attention to that.
  13. B&BW is also doing a "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" on their Lotions/Body Wash/Shower Gel (etc.). I just finished checking out using the B3G1, as well as another coupon code found on another forum: Free Pleasures Body care or Breathe product with any $20. purchase, Online code :4047 (10/17-EXP: 11/20) I had one spray, two lotions, and a body wash in the shopping bag. One lotion was already noted as being free because of the B3G1 promo, but when I added the above coupon code, it marked the spray as being free also. So I paid for two products altogether, not too bad IMO
