  1. I did not see the coupon, but I have not been couponing in a long time... Is it a manufacturers coupon good at any retail location which sells Fannie May candy and accepts coupons? I'm pretty sure Fannie May is sold elsewhere, like Russel Stover, isn't it?

  4. I just spent a few minutes sending my husband Paul a message from Santa... You can view it for yourself here. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Happy/muahaha.gif
  5. I know that today only, WFAN is being promoted for free shipping via Walgreens Facebook fan page. The fine print...
  6. Baked ziti. You can do one set marinara sauce and multiple cheeses, maybe toss in some spinach for any vegetarians, and another set with meat sauce using both ground Italian sausage and ground beef, along with the multiple cheeses for those who eat meat. If you make sure all of the ziti is covered with sauce you don't have to boil it first. Just mix the pasta, sauce and all add ins together into disposable foil baking tins, making sure it is pretty wet with sauce, cover with foil and bake in a 350° F oven for an hour. Peel off the foil, check the tenderness of the pasta and cook longer if needed to get the ziti to al dente. Then toss on some grated mozzarella and parmesan on top, place back in the oven to allow the cheese to melt all gooey over the top, and remove. Allow to sit ten minutes (or longer covered) and serve. Those disposable chafing sets that the club stores sell, and the foil pans that fit inside them, work perfectly for this. A nice tossed salad and some garlic bread or garlic sticks, and you're good to go.
  7. Pretty! Shapely as well. I am looking forward to pictures of it decorated.
  8. How old is your physical therapist? A young man straight out of college would probably appreciate different items than a family man who has been practicing for awhile. Does he have his own office in which he consults with you? Have you noticed any personal touches that could give you an idea of his interests? Does he like a particular sport which you could use for a craft theme? Otherwise, there's always the gift card option for a shop which he may frequent if you can determine what stores he frequents. When Beorn was doing all of his various therapies (four different ones at a time. oy, am I glad those days are over) my thing was (still is) cooking. I specialize in key lime pies and once I checked out the therapist's dietary preference (people love to talk about themselves as they treat you or your child and you lead the conversation that way) I would adapt the recipe to accommodate that and be sure to inform them of the ingredients when I presented them with their pie. They were anticipated by all of his therapists every year, and I had heard the occasional comment of "wow, I sure do wish Beorn was my patient," on occasion as the gifts were given each year.
  9. The idea of Walgreens RR is new to me, I had not heard of them before and have yet to use them. So I have a question. Are they printed for a specific item? Or is it a general amount that can be used on any item? If it is an amount off of a specific item, that is the difference compared to CVS ECB. From what I can tell ECB is a STORE coupon than takes the dollar amount off of an entire purchase. If I remember correctly, you do have to buy one item for each ECB you redeem, although the ECB can be applied to any item, and as long as the total of your order exceeds the coupon credit, the items need not exceed the discount of the ECB applied to it. I think this is why you can also spend both a manufacturers coupon AND an ECB on an item at CVS, as long as the total cost of your purchase exceeds the combined amount. Again, this is because a CVS ECB is NOT a manufacturers coupon. But as I said, Walgreen's RR is new to me, so take my explanation with a grain of salt.
  10. Unless things have changed since I last did these things (about a year and a half), it is a two week limit, I think. For both sale adjustments and coupons, right?
  11. Chr-stmas is not my tradition, and Paul has respected that. However, his father spends the day with us, so we do a secular version for him. Dinner on Chr-stmas day generally consists of: Appetizers Deviled eggs Cheese, apples, grapes and club crackers Hard salami, sliced thin Soup Still deciding We really liked the Curried Butternut Squash and Apple Soup I fixed for Thanksgiving, but I think I'll please Beorn and do Matzah Ball, vegetable and egg noodle soup. His favorite. Salad Spring greens with grape tomatoes, craisins, chevré, and chopped pecans dressed with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar then topped with fresh cracked mixed pepper corns, a sprinkling of kosher sea salt, and some gratede romano Entreé Standing rib roast aged for three days per Alton Brown roasted per Tyler Florence Sides Yorkshire pudding! Garlic mashed potatoes Scalloped cabbage (Paul's dad really liked that at Thanksgiving) Corn pudding and I'm debating between southern-style green beans again or sauteéd broccoli No bread, we just don't need it No dessert Spiked eggnog for later in the evening...
  12. I did too, but not having ever seen it... I'll know better next year!
  13. Again, thank you all. Now I have a favor to ask. As can be seen above, Brad has asked me to put together an updated perimeter perusing explanatory post. I am happy to do so, but I have seriously not perimeter perused in several years. So, for those who have been doing so consistently and recently... What changes from the initial explanatory post have you noticed? I had stated that the ending numbers on the clearance stickers have changed, but truthfully, that was more a guess on my part than fact. It will be really helpful to have y'all's observations posted here, for me to go out and verify for myself and then combine into a new post. Thanks in advance to all who chime in!
  14. I've always enjoyed reading the tale of The Yule Faires on the solstice to Beorn myself. A story a night during Advent for those who observe sounds awesome. What a terrific tradition.
  15. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l204/GatorPam/icq-blush.gif ...not having seen either movie... There seems to be only one match up where I have not seen either movie this go around. But I'll look them up on IMDB and see if either plot causes one or the other to stand out to me... 16. This is my "go to" appetizer for a crowd. Individual Mozzarella Caprese Mini fresh mozzarella balls (Sam's sells this in the 1 lb. container) Grape Tomatoes Fresh basil leaves Toothpicks Balsamic Reduction for Mozzarella Caprese (recipe follows) On each toothpick, thread a grape tomato, a basil leaf, a mozzarella ball, another basil leaf and another grape tomato. Put these on a platter around a bowl of the Balsamic Reduction for dipping or put the reduction in to a squeeze bottle to be drizzled over each skewer. You can also julienne up some prosciutto and thread one strip on each toothpick around the other ingredients. Balsamic Reduction for Mozzarella Caprese 1 bottle balsamic vinegar 1/2 cup sugar Take the bottle of balsamic vinegar (it doesn't have to be the most expensive either) and pour it into a saucepan with about 1/2 cup of sugar. Heat, stirring constantly (he uses the back of a slotted spoon) for about 20-25 minutes until the sauce reduces to about half and coats the spoon. Don't allow to boil as the sugar will burn. You'll know when it's the right consistency when you take a little dab (about the size of a pearl) and put it on a chilled plate, and it holds it's shape pretty well. Cool and store in a covered container. For a side dish, tradition holds you serve a Yorkshire Pudding with a standing rib roast. It's a mighty fine tradition, at that. Yorkshire Pudding (Diane/SSSoapwrks) 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 3 eggs salt and pepper Combine all well early in the day (this is a VERY traditional way to prepare it and I do exactly this.. it sits on the counter in the cool weather) and give a stir on occasion. Pull roast out of the oven and set aside loosely covered in foil to rest while Yorkshire is baking. Turn oven up to 425 degrees. Add some of the drippings to the casserole/baking pan (I also spray my pan with Pam before adding the drippings), putting it in the oven to heat up. When the oven beeps that the temperature has risen, carefully pour the Yorkshire batter into that hot pan and bake for @15 minutes at 425 degrees, then turn the temperature down to 350degrees and finish baking until it's puffed, browned and looks and smells like heaven (@15-25 minutes more.) Meanwhile cut roast, make gravy, finish meal prep and call everyone to the table. When they are seated open the oven, taking out the Yorkshire and listen for the drooling and oohs and aahs before it collapses.... Set it on a trivet and cut that puppy up and serve it with gravy, if desired. Notes: I always double the recipe (using only 5 eggs) and it does wonderfully in the 12-inch cast iron skillet.
  17. ah man!!! ...gives me a reason to perimeter peruse again, even without spending money though...
  18. Hi Jennifer. Nice to meet you as well! However I didn't start the sub-forum, that's for sure. Merely composed the first post of tips that Brad puts up to start each new Perimeter Perusing thread... ...and much of that information is way out of date... ...and then welcomed others who did the same and with them helped tutor those who wanted to learn. But I haven't practiced perimeter perusing in a while, so I would need to learn what new things are happening now. I do feel the basic methods for tracking down clearance at Target is still valid though. The details, such as the ending numbers on the clearance prices, may have changed over time. I think with experience perusers can roll with the changes though. I have confidence in them, and in sharing what changes they may find have occurred. Mileage may vary.
  19. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l204/GatorPam/icq-blush.gif I explained in another thread, but basically I banned myself for being too embarrassed to post after failing to follow through on a commitment. Then, the longer I went without posting, the more difficult it became to come back. Money has been really tight the past few years, and while bargain shopping sees us through, it is on true basic necessities, when I can find deals. Perimeter perusing for the joy of it has been on the back burner during these times. I'll admit. I had forgotten these forums are far more than being simply about bargain hunting. I am thankful to have come across the Facebook Fan Page, and being encouraged to return to the forums on the discussion boards there. I'll do my best to not forget about the fellowship found here. I promise.
  20. Wow, what a cool concept. 21. Potato ricer all the way here. Add one whole clove of garlic tossed in the pot for each whole potato, then boil together and rice together. Once riced, season with butter or stock, add some milk, sour cream or softened cream cheese, and season to taste.
  22. I have my older design GottaDeal.com shirt still, but it is slowly wearing out. I would love to retire it to a place of honor, and wear a newer style as I perimeter peruse.
  23. If you think Trevor will be willing to learn, I suggest a full manicure and pedicure kit. The girls can use polish to hide any nail problems, but I think a well groomed male includes properly manicured finger and toe nails. In fact, if the kids all enjoy going to sleep overs, perhaps get each of them their own toiletry kit which has those mini empty bottles to put shampoo and conditioner in, as well as a toothbrush holder and soap caddy. Beorn honestly started growing facial hair at 12. While he still has yet to use a razor himself due to sensory issues, perhaps for Trevor an inexpensive small electric razor, or maybe a mustache trimmer, would be a gift he could anticipate using in the future. Perhaps a curling iron for your older daughter and maybe some old fashioned plastic curlers for your younger one to have fun playing around with their hair. If Trevor doesn't already have, you may want to toss in a lanyard with an ID holder attached. Beorn keeps his restricted license and high school ID in his, as well as using it to carry around his flash drive. That's all I have at the moment. If anything else strikes me, I'll post some more.
