  1. *squeaking* Perimeter Perusing has its own sub-forum? I am honored. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l204/GatorPam/icq-blush.gif Thanks all for keeping it going while I was MIA. ...btw... I see there is only one thread here, so if this is inappropriate feel free to delete.
  2. Too consider for Chr-stmas or next Thanksgiving... Slow Cooker Holiday Stuffing 2 large packages ('more than enough to stuff a 12-14 pound turkey') Pepperidge Farms Herb Seasoned Cubed Stuffing Mix defatted home made vegetable, chicken or turkey stock extra light olive oil chopped onion crushed garlic chopped celery chopped green and red pepper sliced fresh mushrooms additional add ins (optional): 1 whipped egg chopped nuts simmered giblets, shredded fresh oysters water chestnuts Mix stuffing mix with warm stock, according to package directions. The soup stock is substituted in equivalent amount for the butter/margarine and water liquid suggested. Remember you are making two packages, so double the amount of liquid given on the package for one package. Allow to cool while fixing vegetables. Gently sauté the listed vegetables in the order given in the oil until tender but not colored. You can pick and choose the vegetables you want; these are our preferred mix. Measure out two cups of the sautéd vegetables and mix gently throughout the prepared stuffing. You can also mix in any of the optional additions to your taste. Using an olive oil mister, or non-stick cooking spray, spray the oven safe crockery insert of a 6 quart oval slow cooker (my Hamilton-Beach one is oven safe to 375ºF). Put the stuffing mixture into the insert, place the insert into the slow cooker, cover, and cook on HIGH for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to LOW, and cook for 4 to 8 hours; it is ready after 4 hours in a newer crockpot that cooks hotter than older models but holds well on LOW up to 8 hours and can take up to seven or eight hours to cook in older models. The stuffing around the sides of the crockery insert will sometimes cook more, leading to the "crunchy bits" that mimic what tends to sometimes poke out from inside the bird. If you want more, take your oven safe crockery insert and put it in a 350ºF oven for five to ten minutes right before serving. If you grew up eating real stuffing, i.e., cooked in the bird, but hesitate to do that now, this is as close as I have come to mimicking the bread pudding-like texture that in the bird stuffing takes on while still cooking it outside of the bird. Enjoy. :)
  3. Too late for this year, unless one is doing a turkey for Chr-stmas, but I brine my bird for 24 hours using Emeril's recipe, than roast following Alton Brown's Good Eats recipe. I deep fried a turkey for years and love them. But once in the oven, the Good Eats bird takes two and a half hours (I do a 15 pounder) and it is the best turkey I've ever had. I've been doing it this way for about five years now.
  4. They weren't last year, and if there isn't any real publicity about it, I doubt they will be this year. Looking forward to it. Thanks for posting!
  5. Oh man, this program is why I asked my sister to get the FLY Pen for Beorn for Hannukah! But I couldn't justify the full price of the software. And now, with just having both vans worked on, I won't have the funds to buy it for at least a couple of weeks. I can only hope it's still there once I have the money to buy it.
  6. I'm not surprised Global Bazaar never went 90% off. Only holiday and seasonal merchandise generally go 90% off, and this year Global Bazaar did not follow a seasonal mark down. Bummer.
  7. It did last year; I got all of my son's teachers' end of the year gifts from the 90% off Global Bazaar selection. But since then I am hearing of more and more Targets sending seasonal clearance to salvage before it goes 90% off. So, I guess this will depend on your store.
  8. Thanks for posting, Kathleen! (I'm known as Gator Pam here, obviously)
  9. Wanna bet they didn't scan and just looked at the signage when you called? Corporate has most likely changed all GB via computer, and some stores hadn't changed the signs first thing in the morning. Unless the tea member worked in the GB area, they probably had no idea it had gone to 75% off when you called. My Target is five miles away, but I never call to check clearance prices. Gives team members too much of a head's up to items I want.
  10. According to the seasonal mark down schedule, it should be today. That is, if there's any left at the stores.
  11. We donate $1.00 for each of us to the charity, and leave $2.00 to cover all of us for the server. So, $5.00 for the three of us. Not bad.
  12. Just the regular small size pancakes that usually come with their breakfasts. And it's one short stack (three) for free, not all-you-can-eat.
  13. National Pancake Day According to the website, it's tomorrow from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  14. Nuh-uh. You don't need that until you start dreaming (while sleeping) about finding a good deal at Target and being the first to post on the board about it... The same thing happened during the Chr-stmas clearance with the square truffles. The ones following the markdowns had a different colored X in the word Choxie. I think the regular logo has a red X and the holiday packaging had a green one. I haven't looked to see if that is the case with any that were put out for Vaelntines. But if so, I bet the regular X is still red, and the Valentines packaging would have a pink X.
  15. Target.com has several pieces of the Thomas O'Brien Leaf dishware that was sold in-store two Chr-stmas' ago at 75% off, including a pedestal bowl I never saw in the store that I think would make a lovely centerpiece once filled with fruit and perhaps some pinecones. I remember there were several posters who also liked these dishes, so I wanted to let them know in case they want to add to their selection. I believe I saw a set of four salad plates, in both green or ivory, four bowls in ivory only, and four coffee mugs, also in ivory only. Here's the pedestal bowl: Target : Thomas O’Brien® Ivory Leaf Pedestal Bowl
  16. I believe someone said it's in next week's ad as being 50% off. My guess is now the earliest would probably be next Saturday.
  17. ITA about this year's Global Bazaar stuff. I really miss all of the pastas, olive oils, balsamic vinegars, et. al. selection that they had last year. I also made a killing on end of the year teachers gifts last year, but there's very little that strikes me as teacher gift in this year's selection.
  18. It shouldn't matter, as the Global Bazaar, as a seasonal set, should be a nationwide mark down.
  19. The Cascade buckets I got for 90% off during the holiday markdown were the red and green 80 count gel packs, but they were not the one with the snowman on it. I haven't seen those buckets since I bought all they had at my store. I am a little upset about the Newbie Guide being edited so the links no longer work, especially since I found out about it via posters on this thread and not from a moderator or administrator. But, I do understand why they did it.
  20. A question for those who got the arcade machines. We got the Midway one at JC Penney's awhile back. It has a cartridge with the games on it that is plugged in above the screen. If I can get a hold of the Konami cartridge, do you think it would work with the Midway machine?
  21. When the Dollar Spot/SSS area is marked down, it should be done nationwide via corporate, so always sca, scan, scan, regardless of what the signage says. If Target offers a printable coupon for diapers on their website, and you also have a manufacturers coupon for the same thing then yes, you can stack (use both) coupons on one diapers purchase.
  22. Libby, I forwarded a link to your post to a friend of mine who is a consultant. I don't know if she'll respond here, as I've never seen her post on GottaDeal. However, PC is online. Have you checked their website to see if there is a preview of the catalog? New Products
  23. I speculated that the Global Bazaar would follow the seasonal mark down schedule, and said I suspected it would be those dates, but higher percents off. It would be funny if someone took my speculation and posted it as a rumor on another forum... So, if it does go 75% off on Sunday, then what's left may go 90% off Thursday week.
