Well, being a perimeter peruser at Target, I haven't really been impressed with Black Friday ads for several years now. That had a little to do with my inactivity on the site for a couple of years. i just didn't see anything that beat the year-round clearance deals at Target. And now that a Kohl's has finally opened here, and with the CVS and Walgreens threads here in the forums, I honestly do better year-round than buying Black Friday deals. That said, I still love the thrill of Black Friday shopping. Usually I line up at Wal-mart, as most other ads do not thrill me. So, my overall impression so far is: "meh." I am hoping the Wal-mart ad will change that impression.

My son has the Acer netbook Radio Shack is offering on Black Friday for $179. We paid $249 for it refurbished on tigerdirect.com a little over a year ago and have been very happy with it. I've been looking at the Compaq Best Buy is offering for $149 for my father-in-law who knows nothing of computers but would like to learn how to stay in touch with us via email, etc. I know nothing regarding that particular model though, so I may just go with the Radio Shack one. We've been quite pleased with how Windows XP runs on Beorn's. I know nothing about Windows 7 that is on the Best Buy one.

This would have been my response as well, until I saw this past Sunday's sale ad. On the back cover it gives the policy for price matching, if I read it correctly. I have tossed my copy, does anyone have a copy they can quote, please?

I'm pretty sure this is the netbook Beorn has. He occasionally has difficulty getting Facebook to load when using our home wireless. But I think that is more a bandwidth issue with our main connection being DSL Lite than the netbook itself. He got his refurbished via Tiger Direct for $249. $179 new is fantastic.

It is running much smoother than yesterday and Friday, that is for sure. I think they're also going to do it tomorrow at some point, and then that's it. I haven't seen anything offered today that I wanted to even try for the 90% code... Here's hoping some more kitchen gadgets are offered.

What I could enjoy until Paul started watching youtube videos and causing me to lag was great!

I don't like the turkey roasters, for me the skin turns in to a soggy mess. I really like Alton Brown's Good Eats Roast Turkey. However, reading the Food Network post of this recipe, I see some steps are missing, such as the tin foil triangle. Here is a transcript of the Good Eats episode Romancing the Bird. The step by step instructions for the above recipe is included. If you can figure out how to adjust your convection oven to cook the way AB suggests, I have found no better roast turkey recipe. I do use Emeril's brine rather than AB's, but the cooking method after removing from the brine, rinsing, and patting dry is all AB's here.

I no longer have a functioning printer. Does anyone know if the kiosks inside Target still allow one to print coupons off of Target's website there? I really dislike paying 10 cents a page to print a 50 cents coupon...
