I thought about using a free trial to Amazon during Prime Day in July, but decided to wait until November to sign up. I'll probably do it in the next few days or a couple weeks in case they have more deals before Christmas.

Used my bags today when I went grocery shopping. They worked great, can't wait to use them again.

Has anyone heard anything about ATSC 3.0 or recently dubbed "Nex GenTV" ready televisions for sale in the US yet? I know a few markets are testing the ability for it and I'm in no rush to get TV's but I thought I heard some would be for sale this year. I know Sinclair is making devices you can use with older TV's but I thought even ATSC 3.0 TV's on the market could lower the price of older TV's as well.

Thank you. That happy post with a month full of birthdays turned sad pretty quick. On the bright side, I found out Pluto added 12 new channels including 24hour Baywatch and American Gladiators (the old ones), so I'll probably hibernate for the rest of the year and relive my youth!

Checking in for October, a month filled with many birthdays. My sister would be 42 this month if it wasn't for cervical cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month but I feel sad for those with other types of cancer that get overlooked. By the way January is Cervical Cancer Awareness month. I have about 2-3 friends birthdays on October 2nd, so I better get ready to give them a ring. Sadly though the date in recent years has been scarred into me as it was the date another friend of mine committed suicide. We had gone our separate ways in the years leading up to it, but it hurt me so much hearing the news. I cried more at his funeral than I did at other family members. If you know someone who's feeling down in the dumps, have a little chat with them. Maybe its just a bad day, maybe its a bad year, but without talking with them, a bad day turns into a bad year, which could turn into something much worse. Sorry to bring everyone down this month, but Fall has this stigma of death for me, my dad passed in September a couple weeks after somebody else I knew passed. In November my grandpa passed while I was a Senior in high school, and a few years later a close family friend passed on Black Friday. My dad and I had talked to him just hours earlier that morning as I wrapped up BF shopping. Later that day someone checked on him at his farm and he had a heart attack and passed. Maybe that's why I hang around this site so much during BF season because it takes my mind off stuff. Maybe this site is my therapy, my way to cope with the season. Even though I don't buy much on Black Friday anymore, it is still soothing to come to Gottadeal and see the new ads and occasionally join in on the banter on the Holiday forums. Thank you Brad and everyone else that makes this site great! Closing on a positive note, maybe we'll see our first ad soon!

The weather here has been inconsistent. Its really windy today and they think we could get tornadic storms tonight. Then again they've mentioned rain most the week and we haven't gotten more than a few drops.

From the sounds of it, I'm glad I only use the free one month trial once a year I only use it to take advantage of watching shows (still need to see the newest season of Sneaky Pete), and if I know I need to order something and don't want to wait for it. I've had the option to use the free trial since Prime Day, but decided to hold off. Maybe I'll sign up around Black Friday in case they have some good deals then.

It's sad to see them stop weekly ads, but I've noticed they haven't put new flyers out on Flipp for a while, so I guess I was aware already. I haven't been to a Best Buy in probably 8 years though so I guess it doesn't matter to me much, though I have bought items during Black Friday online from them. To me its funny that Dollar Tree still has ads from time to time. EVERYTHING'S $1, now look at 4 pages of stuff we sell! At least I can count on Menard's having anywhere between 2-6 ads out a week, so there's that.

Yeah, I've kept my eye on it some. By then I'm not sure how much I'd play consoles but I'd be glad if they made it again. If the NCAA works it out, I'd also like to see a return of the basketball series.

After having on online order problem with Gamestop a few years ago I haven't shopped online since. I don't go near the stores all that much last few years, but didn't find much the last few times I went anyways. That's on me though since I still use a xbox 360 and don't plan to upgrade to a newer console. I hardly play games much these days. Maybe if they made a new NCAA football game I'd reconsider.

Those all sound like great prizes. In fact I've thought about getting a few of those items already (except for the Nest, but still wouldn't be a bad prize).

Never been to one because none are close to me, but I'm a bit surprised they didn't try to stay open through the holiday season at least.

Checking in for the month, and not much more to add, but I will say I love watching Pluto. Buzzr and the Unsolved Mystery channels are my favorite, but have been impressed with the selection of movies lately and waiting to watch Hunter when the channel it comes on shows up. I've even caught myself watching Wahlburgers, and might even say I'm hooked. While not for everyone, it is worth checking out for a few days and I'm sure you'll find something you like.

Happy July everyone. I sitting here thinking about my dad a bit, he would have turned 71 this month.

I hear you on the more rain. I think it will get worse before it gets better. Our first 90 degree day was today with a heat index of 100 and I don't really mind it if it helps getting the water out of here, but more rain won't make one hot day help any.

Checking in for the month. Starting to flood pretty bad around these parts, but I'm land locked so while flash floods could be an issue, I'm safe. Tornadoes though might be another issue.

I don't think I checked in for the month yet. It almost got away but I remembered at least. I'm really liking the survival pack concept.

Not much happened in the last month, so not sure what to mention here as an April post. Hoping the last of the cold weather is gone so I can open the windows again and go to storage and clean. So no stories this month, but hope every one has a great month.

I went to my local thrift store on Friday and was quite happy. I found what appeared to be a clock radio, which I knew it was more than that. It said it worked, and even though it didn't have the original cord it had a cord, so for 3 bucks it was worth a try. After getting home, I hooked it up and sure enough it worked. It's actually an internet radio. I never heard of the brand, but it was a Grace Digital Mondo. If I looked it up right it is selling for anywhere from 40-100 bucks on Ebay. Now I'm tempted to sell it, but think I'll hold on to it. It works pretty good and it picks up some good stations. If I register it I can add url links on their website to add more stations. Best part is even if I don't have want to use the internet stations, I can hook up a usb flash drive and listen to music that way. Best 3 bucks I spent in a long time.

I'll check that out. I like the idea of two sided scans, but it does seem to be a bit more than I want to pay. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just curious, does anyone know when the best time to buy an all in one printer? Really I just want a scanner as mine is about 8 years old and would like an upgrade, but depending on the price I might as well get an all in one. I know there are some for 30-40 bucks on Walmart and other sites, but wondering if there is a good time to possibly get some on clearance.

Trying to think of something creative to bring to the thread for this month, but I think my brain froze recently with the cold weather. Not as bad as Minnesota, but still a couple days of negative temps and wind chills was bad enough for me. Luckily it could hit 60 this weekend, so by then I should thaw out some.
