I see where the one who are here all the time are coming from, but I still think maybe hold off a bit. A possible solution is maybe giving double entries to those who have been here a certain length of time or posted a certain amount. I know I only post during Black Friday, but the ones dedicated to the site year round should have a bit better odds of winning I admit. As for other ideas- GD? It's only bad to say if you aren't talking about GottaDeal! That one might not test too well, but I wanted to stay on topic a bit.

I like those two. Maybe include "I am the 1% that got your doorbuster. I like the QR code idea too. That could be put on the sleeve maybe. Another idea is possibly a T-shirt jersey. On the front, have it say "Team Gottadeal" on the back where the player's name is just put "gottadeal.com" and as for the number put the year the website was established.

Almost like that in Mid-MO, but once the temperature dips on Thanksgiving, it won't get higher on Friday. I think it's supposed to be about 65 Thanksgiving, then the high on Friday will be about 45. Chance of rain all week too.

Not sure if enough people care, but the ad for Slackers is posted on their website, www.slackers.com. For those not aware, Slackers is a Midwest video game store that also sells used CD's and movies. They are based out of St. Louis (even though they started in Columbia, MO) and have many locations in Missouri and Illinois.

Lottery Tickets and tube socks! I wouldn't get anything in my stocking if it wasn't for those two items. I sometimes get my nephews some hot wheels, since they love them (especially the mystery ones), and also once certain Halloween candy goes on clearance, I get that to fill the stockings.

I've always looked at cameras on Black Friday, but I think there are better deals throughout the year. If you need a new one in a pinch, or maybe as a gift, then by all means, they are fine. I still have a 10.2 megapixel I bought a few years ago on clearance at Walmart, and it was either in the spring or fall. I think it might depend on when new cameras come out (like when new TV's come out after the Super Bowl). My camera is a Samsung, and I really like it. I wish it would take better action shots indoors (I go to some indoor football games) and the lighting is a little dark indoors, but Samsung has always been fine by my standards. I use to have a HP which also worked fine and I sometimes use it. I'm looking to upgrade at some point, not mainly because I might just get a camcorder, but I doubt I would get a camera on Black Friday.

I'm hoping a smaller size TV will be cheap. Something under a 27". I don't have much money, and I don't really care about huge TV's, so if I can afford a smaller one I'd be happy. Otherwise I may venture into looking for a cheap Bluray player and movies.

I have no particular dress code for Black Friday, but I have a couple GottaDeal shirts I won in each of the past two years, so I wear those. I usually bring the ads themselves with me (others put them in binders or notebooks, but I don't). As for the cart, it depends on what I need, and who all I'm with. If I have a friend or two with me (as was the case last year), I like the strategy of having a person stay in a empty section of the store with the cart, and the other people grab the stuff. If I am by myself, and if I must, then I will use a cart. Otherwise, I will try my best not to use a cart. To me carts are about as bad as strollers. Those are good questions, I'd love to hear other people's thoughts.

Last year (I'm not sure where it originated from, I assume American Express) was the first Small Business Saturday. It is a day that asks consumers to shop at small local retailers as a way to help them and to say thank you. November 26th, the day after Black Friday has been chosen as this year's date. It's a shock to me that with the internet age, that there are so many shopping channels. I'm not sure we need more than the big 3, but there are tons out there. I should have watched it though, because that is a good idea for gift suggestions. I usually don't get suckered into shopping network, but if it's an informercial, than I am Mr. Sucker. Glad I don't have a credit card or else I'd own a lot of what they sell. What were some of the good ideas for the QVC Christmas show?

Just a thought, but maybe Big Lots and other stores have displays up in July because of the (rather pointless in my opinion) phenomenon known as CHRISTMAS IN JULY! I never have understood why people celebrate it, but I think some stores figure they can make a profit on it. I went to my local Walmart a couple nights ago and they had trees and a few other items up, but not a whole lot. As long as the store has room to display it, I'm fine with it. It's a personal choice if you want to look at it or not. I'm not too big on Halloween, but I don't really mind when I see display's up in July. I can just right past it (unless like this year, I'm looking for a cheap Charlie Sheen mask, WINNING!).

Not really holiday related, but I do enjoy watching QVC for their sports shows. I haven't watched this year, but I like the NFL one on Mondays, and then after the Super Bowl. As for the Christmas stuff, what do they sell, decorations, or gift ideas and such?

I plan on being at the other ones, I forgot about it last night once the game came on then once I made it, I had to go somewhere. Are the old ones on ustream still. I will go back and watch them.
