  1. I recently bought the Firestick, and actually just plugged it in this week. So far, I love it. It's much easier to use than I expected. And, as a Prime member, all of my music is on Amazon (I no longer use iTunes at all) so I really love that I can go to my music and my playlists right there on my TV instead of either hooking up speakers to my Kindle or phone or mirroring the Kindle to my TV (which was a nuisance). **disclaimer - I have never streamed Netflix or Amazon video from any device, have only watched Amazon video directly on the Kindle or mirrored the Kindle to the TV so my experience comes from no experience. I can't compare the Firestick to any other device.
  2. I was so excited to come here and see all the dedicated threads up! I may be a little too into this BF on GD thing.
  3. *original post deleted* - didn't mean to post here - sorry.
  4. How's your daughter doing?
  5. My youngest has joined the Marines and leaves for boot camp in October. Since for the foreseeable future he will be living in barracks, I could not come up with anything to get him! I finally decided on a nice laptop, and that will just have to be his only gift this year. I might get him a Google Play gift card as well. Anyway, I found a good deal for that last week so I'm pretty much done with him. Actually ON Black Friday, I will be looking for a GPS for the dil, and I'm hoping to score the Amazon Echo at an amazing price for myself .
  6. The 100 day mark is less than 2 weeks away!!!
  7. http://www.buzzfeed.com/kanikateng/the-26-best-responses-to-amazon-prime-day-9wy1?utm_term=.yrwmK2wGXK#.ruzKdy3MQ 25 Best Responses to Amazon Prime Day I *think* it's okay that I posted this. These were too funny not to share with you all.
  8. I was doing that silly work thing and missed the $75 32 in TV. I wonder what the chances are of there being another one later.
  9. LOL, safe to say I'd be first in line!
  10. I know it's not even July yet, but for some reason I have had such a craving for Black Friday on Gottadeal the last week or so! It's like I need to caption some photos, and complain about store hours, and share stories and advice and pictures. I've been reading through past years message boards, just trying to get my fix. SIGH, , 4 more months.
  11. Just 335 days Too soon?
  12. You are very welcome, I enjoyed it! And thank YOU for my SS gifts. I loved it all, and the towels and pot holders have seen a lot of use already . Also, Thank you again to Swampbaby for my ornaments! They looked great on my tree.
  13. I'm not sure where you can buy them, other than online, but they make those puzzles that you put money or gift cards or something inside. The recipient has to solve the puzzle to get to the prize. I bet you could get them at Ross, or Marshal's. Some place like that.
  14. I received the (cleverly worded) email as well.

    Santa

It occurred to me the other day that for the first time in my life, Santa will not be coming to my house this year. Growing up, we always went out to look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve, and while we were gone Santa came (we did this because we had to get up and go to someone else's house for Christmas day, and my mom didn't want us to be rushed with our new toys). We continued that even after we "knew", and I continued the same tradition with my own children. When my oldest son got married and their babies were born, they lived with me. This year, they moved in to their own home. Obviously, Santa won't come to Grama's house AND their house, so everything under my tree on Christmas Eve will have come from me. This saddens me a little. I tried to explain this to my youngest boy (19), and he totally doesn't get it. So, am I being totally stupid? LOL
  16. I didn't even know you could do that. That is awesome!
  17. Santa Came (Actually, he came yesterday, but I was off becoming a great aunt so I wasn't here to receive). Thank you so much Santa! I can't tell you how much I needed the kitchen towel set - my potholders are down to having to be doubled . Also got some bath soak beads (you can bet I'll be putting those to use this weekend), A Sweat Pea candle and Sweat Pea Room spray (My favorite scent), some aloe socks, and 2 (YES, TWO!!) bags of chocolate covered peanuts! I am so blessed. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k499/ts1852/IMG_4850.jpg
  18. I am excited to give my DS19 his new bow. He's constantly shopping for it, hoping it goes on sale, and trying to negotiate a payment plan for me to pay for it (which does no good when I can't afford to pay for it in the first place...because I already bought it!) Of course I'm also very excited to see the looks on my grandbabies' faces when they see everything everywhere!
  19. Oh crud, I forgot stockings!

    Santa

We never have gifts under the tree until Santa comes. I always forgot to make something from me, but luckily my kids never noticed that they didn't get anything from Mama for Christmas. LOL
  21. I am finished with my shopping. I've wrapped everything except the grandbabies' gifts, because I may need to share some of those with Santa Claus and I'm not sure which ones yet . This is actually weird for me, because I hate wrapping and I usually wait until 2 days before Christmas to wrap ANYTHING!

    Now what?

My biggest purchase this year was a new bow for ds19. Bought it on eBay for $340 including shipping. That's $60 less than I found in any store. He has no idea, (kept saying I can't afford $400 for 1 gift) and I can't wait to give it to him!
  23. I don't know how many volunteered to be an elf, but I'm available if you need me.
  24. The Amazon reviews for this vacuum are very good. Unfortunately, it's out of stock .
