I suppose BF could be affected by the anticipation of the election. But I believe BF is planned way too far in advance to be affected by the outcome of the election. I will be the first to admit though, that I'm no economist and I really don't know how these things work :).

My grands do this :). When I drop the catalogs off, I try to stress to ONLY mark the things they REALLY want. The thing is, they REALLY want it all!

Yeah, fall teased us here for a week or so, then we were back to triple digits this weekend.

I have 3 (did have 4) direct reports. I usually buy a set of light up ornaments or something from QVC, and split them between them along with some goodies. For example: last year I bought a set of decorative lanterns, that split up cost $5 each (and they came with individual gift boxes) and then (also from QVC) I bought a set of Lock N Lock bowls in bags. I make cookies and candies every year, so I put some of those in the bowls. Made for a perfect employee gift, and cost about $11 each (not counting the ingredients for the goodies, but I was going to be making that much anyway).

I'm happy to see the BF forums opened. We lost Mom last week, so Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and especially Christmas are going to be a little weird this year. But I am determined the holidays will be just as special as she always made them. Happy BER months everybody!

Hoping for some good Prime Day deals. I found nothing of interest in Walmart's or Target's sales last week.

I always start craving Black Friday about this time of year. I don't know if it's because I'm looking forward to fall temps or because companies have started talking about Christmas in July :).

Storms knocked out the picture on my TV Saturday night. I went back and read Len's post about how to choose a new TV from last Black Friday's forums, so I'll pick up a TCL Roku tomorrow to replace it. I love this community. (I'll also pick up a surge protector, because I'm the idiot that never thought about the TV needing one )

I got my ornaments, and I love them! I've already hung them on my tree, and the Santa Cam is pointed right at me while I'm at my desk :).
