Our first stop every year is the 24 hour Sonic for pop. After shopping, we go get my mom, and our kids that don't shop with us, and we go eat at Denny's. I'm going to miss my grand slam breakfast this year .

I live in a very small town, and I work from home, so I think (hope!) I'll be able to get in and out of my voting place pretty quickly on the 3rd. I've never seen a big crowd of people there, but people may be more motivated to vote this year. I agree with the overall sentiment - I don't care, so I won't ask, who you vote for - JUST VOTE! It's a right, it's a privilege, and it's a responsibility!

Yeah, I think a lot of us are just mentally drained. On top of everything no one has control over (the pandemic), we are being bombarded by hateful campaign ads (from local elections, all the way to the top). Maybe after the election, moods will improve, and the holiday spirit will show up. And, in plenty of time for Black Friday!

Every year I buy a 12 month Xbox live card for son #2, an Amazon gift card for son #1, and usually an iTunes gift card for daughter in law (this year I'm switching that up and getting her Ulta). They get several gifts each, but those are the constants . Then, I also get a couple memory foam rugs at Walmart every year. They don't clean up well, so I consider them disposable, LOL (not great for the environment, I know). And Dollar General always has a good deal on Dr. Pepper, so I stock up on that. OH, and batteries. From wherever has the best price, but it's usually Lowes.

My current job (for 15 years), we are off Thursday and Friday (Wednesday too, this year!). My previous job, I would take off on Friday once I had enough seniority that I could. Until then, I would BF shop then go to work. Luckily, back then, the sales started early on Friday morning and we were done by 7:30 or so (and I was young enough to be able to handle getting up at 2:00 am and then working a full day after BF shopping. ).

I bought $140 in toys. They have the Jurassic World T-Rex my grandson asked for, and with discounts I got it for ~$28, so that's a load off. Also, I believe I am done with the princess (only granddaughter out of 5 grandkids). They have a super cute little Instant Pot for $10. She loves playing with her kitchen stuff, and I think she'll think it's neat that she has the same stuff Mama has.

The deadline is pretty much the same, but there are always a few stragglers that I fit in after the deadline. I won't be able to do that this year, because the shipping deadline has been moved up.
