Back to work today after a wonderful week and a half off. New year, same ole grind . Why couldn't I have been born rich? Nah, I'm thankful to still be employed and able to do my job safely from home. in my pajamas. and no make-up. Happy New Year everybody!

OMG, Y'all, It's Christmas Eve!!! All us Santa's are going to be very busy this evening and tomorrow, so I want to take the opportunity right now to say MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thank you all for another fun and wonderful season! This is my favorite time of the year, and all of you are a big reason for that. There were a couple people not let us know they received their packages, so I'm just really hoping everyone did. The tracking for the ones I can see show delivered, but there's always that chance of things walking off the porch . I really hope no one experienced that this year. One did get back to me, and her SS gifts have been posted as received. The other one was on the ornament side and has been covered. Everything else seems to be on track. I have 1 SS recipient that hasn't posted. I can't track the package because it was shipped via Amazon. I think that recipient is just really busy and hasn't been on here much. I have 3 ornaments that haven't posted. 1 was just delivered Friday, so I'm sure she will update us all soon. 1 is the same as the SS recipient. And 1 was delivered via Amazon, so I'm not entirely sure. I have the lists ready to copy and post. I will probably do that Thursday .

My sister came over last weekend to help me wrap, so I'm almost done. I was waiting on a couple things, but they came in this week, so I will wrap the last little bit this weekend. The cookies and candies are done, and the plates have been delivered (as far as I know). I did decide to order 1 more last minute(ish) gift last night from Amazon, but it should be delivered tomorrow. We are in the home stretch!

We are cancelling the annual get together with my aunt and cousins, there's just way too many of us and not nearly a big enough house. Also, several of those cousins just got over the virus so when you stack the exposure and the quarantines, it's just a bad idea. As for my mom, sisters, and our families, we are still going to get together. We are going to my sister's, instead of my mom's, because her house is bigger so we can spread out more. Not sure that makes sense, but it's what we decided. I think Mom's pretty sad about it, but she says it makes sense. It's just that, we're supposed to go "home" for Christmas. That's the Saturday after Christmas, though. On Christmas Day, my 2 sisters and I will go home for Christmas.

The ornament finally shows available to pick up as of today! I was quite sure it was not going to get there, and I was already trying to figure out how to file a claim!

My sister was at my house yesterday and saw the ornament on my tree (I did not point it out, she just zeroed right in on it) and squealed "OMG, that is perfect!". So, my OE person, I just wanted to reiterate that you nailed it!

I got my ornament today, and I adore it! Thank you so much!

One of the ornament exchange packages was shipped 11/25, and it still shows In Transit. I guess it just depends on the route it takes, but it's funny to me how some things arrive so quickly while others sit out there for eons.

I have messaged both of them, and emailed one (the other didn't give an email address) but haven't heard back from them. Yes, both are long time members and I definitely don't think they flaked. They legit may just be running late, or forgot to send the tracking info. I just know all the shipping companies are having serious delays, so I don't want to wait too long. If I don't hear anything from them by Friday, I will call in the elves. Thank you all for your support!

Well, I have 2 Santas that haven't checked in about shipping. I'm kind of worried about them personally. For SS purposes, I'm just not sure when to ask for help. If they shipped and just didn't tell me, there's no need for elves, but if they haven't shipped, I don't want to wait too late. Decisions, ugh. Mainly, I really am worried about our girls.

Unfortunately, the cat. I hate locking her out because every year she has loved to sleep up under the tree. But she's old now, and has decided to start pooping just where ever and whenever, and I don't want to have to climb under the tree to clean up after her.

My fear is they will continue to stay closed on Thanksgiving but instead of going back to how it used to be they will decide what they did this year worked well.

Y'all, I cleaned up! There were several gifts in the box, so I thought I'd open 1 every couple days. WELL, with every package I got more excited and had to open another until before I knew it I had devoured it all. OMG, I love it all! Especially the kitchen towel that says "I just want to bake stuff & listen to Christmas music". That is so me! I also got my favorite body lotion, some lavender bath bombs, a super cute snowman tray, some icing spatulas, a "Cookies for Santa" cake scraper with measurement conversions on the back, a notepad and pen, some peppermint print baking cups, a $10 Sonic card, and some fluffy OU socks (Boomer Sooner!). Santa, I am just blown away by your generosity. Thank you so much!

Ignore the stacks of boxes beside the tree. Since I'm working from home I don't have anywhere to stash the gifts as they come in .

We made the decision to go out, but not to any stores where people would be on top of each other. We figured that ruled out Walmart and Target. Our first planned stop was Atwoods (regional store, I believe, kind of like Tractor Supply). The parking lot was PACKED, so we drove over to Academy. Looked super busy. So we decided to drive out to Walmart and see how bad it looked. I swear there were fewer people there than a normal Friday morning (of course, it WAS 6:00 am, so maybe not). We went to a few different places, then picked up an online order at Target. There were a lot of people there, but it was closer to 11:00 by that time. Luckily, we only had to go in as far as customer service.

Sad to see it end. It was such a strange year, it never really felt like it got started. Thanks for everything Brad!

Santa Came!! I've never been one to wait, but I think I will this year. At least until after Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll open them after I finish decorating this weekend. Or maybe I'll go in there and open them now! Who can tell? Either way, thank you Santa! I will post pictures whenever I do open the gifts.
