Sooooo. I have all the names assigned and after I started sending them out I realized I HAVEN'T FILLED OUT MY INFO SHEET! Yep, I missed the deadline ♀. I intended to use last year's anyway, but we had a big ice storm this week so the servers are down at my office and I can't access my stuff from home. LOL. I think I need to take a break. It's been a long day. So, some of you have received your SS name. I will come back and get to the rest if not this evening, definitely by Sunday .

It's not for everyone. I understand the melancholy with how things have changed and are still changing. Several years ago, when they started the sales at midnight, then 10:00pm Thursday, then earlier and earlier, I hated it! I still hate it! BUT we figured out how to make it work and we still have so much fun every year. It is still my absolute favorite time of the year. This year, things are changing again, through no one's fault, and I find myself getting really down about it. But, the only thing that stays the same is everything changes. My sister, daughter, and I have agreed we will find a way to make it fun this year just like before. Prayerfully, next year will be back to semi-normal, but let's face it, this is going to usher in another big change. Maybe I'll hate it. Maybe I'll love it. But I'm going to make darn sure I have fun with it.

I've been debating buying a new tree this year and wondered if they would have their $79 one.

Our first stop every year is the 24 hour Sonic for pop. After shopping, we go get my mom, and our kids that don't shop with us, and we go eat at Denny's. I'm going to miss my grand slam breakfast this year .

I live in a very small town, and I work from home, so I think (hope!) I'll be able to get in and out of my voting place pretty quickly on the 3rd. I've never seen a big crowd of people there, but people may be more motivated to vote this year. I agree with the overall sentiment - I don't care, so I won't ask, who you vote for - JUST VOTE! It's a right, it's a privilege, and it's a responsibility!

Yeah, I think a lot of us are just mentally drained. On top of everything no one has control over (the pandemic), we are being bombarded by hateful campaign ads (from local elections, all the way to the top). Maybe after the election, moods will improve, and the holiday spirit will show up. And, in plenty of time for Black Friday!

Every year I buy a 12 month Xbox live card for son #2, an Amazon gift card for son #1, and usually an iTunes gift card for daughter in law (this year I'm switching that up and getting her Ulta). They get several gifts each, but those are the constants . Then, I also get a couple memory foam rugs at Walmart every year. They don't clean up well, so I consider them disposable, LOL (not great for the environment, I know). And Dollar General always has a good deal on Dr. Pepper, so I stock up on that. OH, and batteries. From wherever has the best price, but it's usually Lowes.

We didn't really move up the sign up deadline, but we did move up the shipping deadline a little because of concerns that shipping will take longer than normal this year. Because of that, I won't be able to be very flexible if someone misses the sign up deadline. If you have chosen not to participate this year, I understand and I hope to have you join us again in 2021. But if you DID want to play this year, I didn't want the opportunity to pass you by. My current job (for 15 years), we are off Thursday and Friday (Wednesday too, this year!). My previous job, I would take off on Friday once I had enough seniority that I could. Until then, I would BF shop then go to work. Luckily, back then, the sales started early on Friday morning and we were done by 7:30 or so (and I was young enough to be able to handle getting up at 2:00 am and then working a full day after BF shopping. ).

#1 - Got my TV. Self Checked Out. Out the door in less than 15 minutes! #2 - Is Best Buy having a tent sale? I didn't even know Best Buy SOLD tents! #3 - There's a last time for everything. **already won.
