  1. Usually, doorbusters aren't going to be brand-name. A DVD Recorder for $45 would be a steal, IMO. The Philco DVD player is $5 less than the rumored Walmart and Kmart doorbusters.
  2. I don't know what good prices are on those, but Zappos.com has a big selection of them. http://www.zappos.com/n/br/b/313.html
  3. Hey, that's good stuff. It's pretty common around here, though. :) You could do a beer of the month club for him: http://www.beeronthewall.com/beer-month-club/beer-club.html http://www.worldbeerdirect.com/shopping/beer_jb.asp

    Farm and Fleet

The catalogs came Monday for toyland. Looks like a lot of good stuff, but I'll proabably wait until after the 3 hour "special" and go in later in the day.
  5. A doorbuster computer would be perfect for that. For web and email use, only the most minimal computer is needed, really. In fact, the most minimal computers by today's standards may be overkill, but they're so cheap, who cares?

    TRS New Website

I really like that a lot of TRU's items have free shipping now. When they were affiliated with Amazon, they had a flat rate on each item and that tended to add up.
  7. Lite-on Burner w/Nero Software - $31.99 shipped. This is a good drive and the Nero Software is easy to use for doing photo slideshows and creating your own home videos.
  8. Excellent deal! Thanks for posting. You are right, this will not last, so if anyone wants it, you better get it fast.
  9. Alto horn is in the key of Eb, baritone is in Bb. The Bb baritone is going to be the one that she's learning, since most music for schools won't even have an alto horn part written for it.
  10. I changed the original link. I noticed I had linked to an alto baritone, not a Bb baritone. If you daughter prefers silver, he sells both the brass and silver/nickel colored horns for the same price.
  11. I used a beginner horn until I was a sophomore in HS. Then I sold that one and got an entry level professional baritone. Really, any beginner or student baritone will be fine to learn on and if she decides that she's going to stick with it and pursue it in college or compete, then maybe it's time to buy her something that's a bit better quality. I found that judges automatically were more on my side when I got the Yamaha professional baritone. Anyway, I've never heard of that brand, so I can't attest to the quality, but you may want to take a look at this one, too, since Selman is a decent brand. http://cgi.ebay.com/90-OFF-Selman-New-2006-Brass-Bb-School-Baritone_W0QQitemZ230039663993QQihZ013QQcategoryZ16213QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
  12. It looks like you can buy one new or used (depending on quality) for less than $250 on eBay. Here's a BIN option for a beginner quality horn: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-VICTORY-ELITE-BARITONE-HORN-OUTFIT-LIFE-WARRANTY_W0QQitemZ280038776677QQihZ018QQcategoryZ16213QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. I played that in school and I think we paid around $2000 for mine. I have seen good deals on them on eBay. If you want a good financing, you could get it from www.musiciansfriend.com and apply for their 0% for 12 months credit card.
  14. What resolution are you using it at?
  15. Yes, it does. At Best Buy, Circuit City or Dick's Sporting Goods, I can get a signal from a coffee shop. :)
  16. What's your budget? I think tickets to a game would be great, but you can't get Yankee's tickets yet. Something like a portable practice net, reflex ball, or swing trainer would help him to practice his baseball skills. Another idea is a flag football set, so him and his friends can all get together and play with some good equipment. Throw in a nice football and maybe a kicking tee and he's all set.
  17. It might work as a PC monitor. You'd have to check to see if it has a DVI or VGA input. The resolution is 1366 x 768, so it's likely that your computer doesn't support that, though.
  18. It might drive you crazy, but let him make his own music: http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-488-Band-Box/dp/B00005RF5C/sr=1-3/qid=1161026048/ref=sr_1_3/102-3460823-8746550?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games
  19. I think the best you'll be able to do for a while is get them some place like Amazon.com, since they have free shipping and no sales tax. The deals on these will be few and far between, at least before the holidays.
  20. Above all, comfortable shoes will make the day much better. You'll eventually get warm, fed, etc...but the feet will take a while to recover from bad shoes. I usually take my PDA, which replaces the paper / pen, games, etc... Plus, I can load my GottaDeal BF shopping list directly to it.
  21. *Napoleon Dynamite* Ninja Spy Goggles! SWEET! */Napoleon Dynamite* Some good stocking stuffers there, thanks. :)
  22. If you go with 19", I'd get standard format. You lose a lot of vertical space with a widescreen. I love my widescreen 20", but I'd still rather have a standard screen.
  23. That's only 4 blocks from here, I believe. It's definitely my neighborhood.
  24. Here's there ad from last year. I didn't see a table saw, but that doesn't mean they won't do one this year. Home Depot, Sears, Lowes, and Menards are good bets to have a sale on a table saw. Sears may allow an extra 10% off if you sign up for their CC as well. http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=16313&highlight=Harbor+Freight
  25. Is he into sports, computers, games, gadgets, outdoor stuff? It seems that the iPod Nano is a popular item for any teenager. Maybe you could get him a music subscription to something like Napster or Rhapsody.
