  1. lol No...my dh bought me stuff that is really for the house and that everyone will use. Yes, we needed a new printer and phones, but I wanted something that was just for me. I thought it was dumb that he wrapped them up as my presents. sigh...if I was a more shallow person, I wouldn't be speaking to him right now.
  2. Target had tons of the red and green tubs tonight, but they were not on clearance. I even grabbed one to scan it and make sure. The smaller ones were $5.44.
  3. Usually, I wait until January 6th. But, the kids are going to my mom's on Thursday until Monday, so I think I will just do it then so I can pack everything carefully and not have to listen to my oldest ds be sad about the tree going away. Too bad the township won't start picking the trees up until the 8th.
  4. I got an email this morning from buy.com stating $20 off $50 ends today!
  5. Everything is good here! I thought something was wrong with DS' Travel Lite-Brite because it wouldn't turn off. Then dh pointed out that's because it turns off by itself after a few minutes lol
  6. Santa visited NYC and is on to Quebec. He hit us a little earlier :)
  7. I sent dh to the grocery store earlier today so I wouldn't have to go...He didn't buy hardly anything so I still have to go back! I am going to go in a few minutes...I just finished cleaning the whole downstairs. I'm still going to have to go out later too..grrr...because 2 of the people dh works with got me a gift, but he didn't bring them in the house and I am not allowed to look in his car because my gifts are in there. I didn't know they were going to get me anything as they usually only get presents for our boys, so now I have to send something in on Tuesday for them.
  8. Yay! I'm glad you got at least some of your stuff!
  9. All that worry and the Bounce and Spin Zebra came Thursday! However, a wrestler I bought from eBay on the 14th did not arrive in time.
  10. Amazon has this tree for $39.99 and $19.99 shipping...maybe not the best price on a tree, but look at the original price! http://www.amazon.com/Bethlehem-Emerald-Evergreen-Christmas-Pre-Lit/dp/B000FK85MU/sr=1-1/qid=1166890768/ref=sr_1_1/104-8652288-2637501?ie=UTF8&s=furniture
  11. We actually have 2 little tabletop trees. He had them when he was in Bosnia years ago, and we've always put them up but the lights were all burnt out this year. I might go get a little string of lights and hang them on there. Good idea. :) Thanks The KFC thing is too funny.
  12. That sounds like a good idea! They give the rebates so people think it is a good deal, but they know most people won't bother submitting! I wonder if there are statistics on that somewhere. I avoid MIR whenever I can after not getting almost $100 from Office Depot 2 years ago. I will never mail them anything ever again.
  13. Ok, those $0.35 pen and pencil sets from Office Depot...I bought 22 of them. My dh is obsessive about pens. They have to be the heavy ones, and these were and black ink, so I think he will love them. I've been giving the pencils away left and right to anyone that will have them. lol So, now I have 21 for him (I used one on Christmas cards and little ds got it and put bite marks on the end) and I don't know how to give them to him. The only thing I've come up with is taking those little tootsie roll banks they sell at Walmart and putting them in there. I think if he jingles them, they will sound like money and not pens and he will be surprised. I am not sure if they are too long though...I'm going to check later tonight at the store. Anyone have any creative ideas? I didn't get him a whole lot this year because he is hard to shop for and I'd like something more original than a box with a bunch of pens in it.
  14. My parents don't have a DVD player either. My mom wants one, but my dad is really hard to move into the next decade. I bought up tons of the pre-viewed VHS at Hollywood Video when they cleared them out for $2 so the kids can watch movies there. DS is getting a portable DVD player for Christmas, and she is excited that when he comes to her house the weekend after Christmas, she can watch the Cars movie!
  15. Ours came today! Just in time to wrap it up and add it to the other Thomas trains. :)
  16. My husband's work has two parties, but that doesn't mean they have any Christmas spirit there! They have one fancy one at night where the door prizes are gift cards and the same people win every year, and then one at the building was today. He doesn't get a gift from his boss, but the boss (also owner) gets every woman who works there something! Really nice high-end stuff too. It's such a joke.
  17. LOL Sounds like a lot of fun and surprises at your house! When I was little, I kept bugging my dad to make me something. He sawed a piece of wood into a square, sanded it and put 9 nails into it and gave me a bunch of rubber bands. The plywood story reminded me of that...haven't thought about it years. :)

    Gift Card Warning

I remembered reading about this and decided not to buy a Target GC for ds' teacher. They didn't have any that weren't out in the open, but they were aware of this scam. I got her one to Walmart instead.
  19. DS5 bought me something at his school holiday's shop 3 weeks ago, and he kept trying to tell me what it is. I told him over and over that I don't want to know. I haven't even peeked and I easily could. This morning, I told him to put the gifts he bought under the tree, and he told me that he forgot what is in mine. He wanted to open it, but I told him we will all be surprised on Christmas! He knows what dh is getting, but he keeps telling him "Lump of coal, lump of coal" lol
  20. oooh I hope one of them gets there in time! I'm glad the company is stepping up to fix it!
  21. Candy and race cars or little trains usually. Whatever I have that is small enough to fit. I bought ds1 some new sippy cups this year for his. Both of the boys are getting a ton of the Disney Pixar cars split between theirs too.
  22. We don't live out in the country, but I do feel bad for them. I can't imagine having to drive that much in all the traffic with all the impatient people while keeping a schedule. It would stress me out!
  23. I usually end up at Walgreens around 2am on Christmas morning for batteries. That's because I always wait that long to wrap though, and then I realize I need them. This year, since I am wrapping before Christmas Eve, and I put the batteries in as I wrap, I've been making a list of what I need as I go along.
