Yep. My kids get new pj's every Christmas at least.. just tradition. But then they also get whatever they are needing. For instance, this year they need pants and shoes.. all will be presents. But the presents don't take place of other items we were debating on getting them, if that makes sense.

Same here. This is why I do not go there usually. It's always terrible, but esp on BF! They have 8 registers or so, yet only FOUR were open. And there was at least 20 people in each line (20 separate carts I mean!). This was about an hour after opening. And then the guy checking the girl out in front of us. She asked where the bathroom was. He didn't know.. I had to tell her where it was, lol. Then he couldn't get the security tags off of the MP3 players she was buying - he didn't know HOW to do it. I wanted to show him how but didn't want to tick him off. He barely spoke to us. Then as we were leaving, I was paying attention to something else and he forgot to give us a bag of stuff.. silly me for not looking to make sure (as I usually do), but thankfully another employee saw it and came running to us with the bag before we made it outside. Good deals but oi vey! (Also, a local church came and gave out coffee.. they preached this and that to everyone that took a coffee and then gave them flyers, etc.. it was weird. I wondered if Kmart knew they were doing this)

DH and I drove past. We were shocked that the parking lot wasn't full like previous BF's! We had just driven by about 20 minutes after they had opened as well.

Well, I had a terrible experience at TRU. I posted over on that board about it though. I went out again at 7pm to Kohl's. I didn't want any early birds, so np there. I needed maternity for me, and found a bunch of it! The store was a mess, but it wasn't crowded or anything. I got some clothes for me, an electric toothbrush for DH ($79.99, Sonicare brand), and then a gift for someone. Spent $167 and got $30 in Kohl's cash.

Geez boblin, that's nuts! Our store had the lines marked everywhere - I mean HUGE signs saying where a register was, with ropes and everything.

btvs - I am so sorry!!! I totally understand the need to vent. And fwiw, she wasn't security. She was a regular store employee. I saw security, but they were near the front (checkout lanes) and that was it.

I guess I was just confused about her saying they had a line to get into the dept. DH and I looked! I mean, I really wasn't trying to sneak in (we didn't want to buy anything!!). And when we had left but looked through the windows, there was NO line. So I just don't get that part at all. And DH walked by into electronics with np, but me? Weird. :/ Patty - I don't know what to compare the force of it too. It wasn't as hard as she could push, but once she began - I about tripped because I wasn't prepared to start walking backwards! I may call this weekend or go in, I'm just feeling very uneasy for some reason. Normally I'm the one who complains about cruddy service anywhere, so this is unlike me.. :/

I'm a little irritated. We went to TRU this morning. They had lines alllll over the place for random cash registers. Fine. There was mass chaos over at electronics. DH just wanted to pop in to look at one thing, not even on sale.. we sort of stood outside of the dept looking around but all of the lines were for registers. So DH walked into the electronics dept, no problem. I went to walk in (through the security things) and suddenly two employees jumped in front of me. One man and one lady - the lady grabbed my stomach (I am pregnant), I mean put her entire palm on my belly near my navel and PUSHED me back while saying I had to wait in line to get into electronics. I was so shocked, I just backed up and walked out of TRU. DH of course followed and was shocked they didn't stop him but they sure as heck stopped me (neither of us had merchandise). Did you have to wait in line to get into electronics? We looked from outside of the store and saw no line. In fact, people were in and out a LOT.. ? DH is now telling me to email corp about it (since jumping in front of me was good enough, she didn't have to push me back by putting her hand on my belly.. I wasn't walking fast, I was just casually walking..) but I don't know..

How many minutes/hours was that before Target even opened?! LOL.

I wanted to get DH the brown zune but I mentioned not liking the color and he said he wasn't fond of it but wanted it anyway. So I found the black one on Buy.com for $94, used 5% off coupon - so I got it for $90 shipped. $10 more than at TRU and the color he originally wanted. Only online shopping thus far.. (I'm on the west coast) I also got DH flannel pj pants ($10) & a cashmere sweater from Old Navy this morning ($14.75). All toy shopping is done in-stores since I am so picky.

I'm about to head up to BB just to look and take a pic real quick - rofl. It's only a couple of miles up the road.. hmm..

I'll be at Kohl's at 4am! Actually I'll be there just a bit before. Not in a huge hurry to be there early early, but I need to get some items that may be in limited quantities.

So separate BRU's aren't opening early? I should go look at the ads.. LOL. I'll be at TRU anyway, and I know they carry dipes (and our TRU and BRU are not connected).

I've never heard of a Target that PM's.

It may not be said enough, but you can't 100% depend on the ads posted here. Some may be regional, so items in the ads on here may or may not be in the ads that come out around you. Of course, Target could change the ad at the last minute, but that'd cost them thousands of dollars - so it's most likely that they have various ads around the country.

With the clean up (of real trees), I can only handle one. And I personally can't do smaller fake trees when we have a bigger real tree. Just doesn't seem.. right? to me. Not sure why. So one for us! :) No specific theme, other than.. Christmas.

MIL is doing the turkey. She said dinner is at 4pm, so we'll see.. I remember my Mom getting up at 6am, shoving the turkey in the oven and going back to bed. LOL.
